Service Activity

Corona virus (COVID-19) is a type of deadly virus with a fast spreading process. This virus infects the human respiratory tract. To prevent the spread of COVID-19, all activities must follow the health protocols published by the Indonesian Ministry of Health, such as social distancing, wearing masks and washing hands. The aim of this study is to provide understanding to the Kuala Bubon fishing community regarding health protocols as an effort to prevent COVID-19 and to provide touchless hand washer assistance to make it easier for people to do health protocols. This study which is a part of community service activity was conducted by using the lecture/mentoring method. The output of the activity is an increase of public awareness to always follow health protocols to every activity. The activity received a positive response from the local community. This can be seen from the enthusiasm of the community in participating in this community service activity.

Abstrak: Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) adalah penyakit jenis baru yang belum pernah diidentifikasi sebelumnya pada manusia dan menyebabkan gangguan pada saluran pernapasan manusia. Pasar menjadi salah satu tempat yang berpotensial terjadinya penularan COVID-19. Sudah banyak kasus penularan COVID-19 yang terjadi di dalam pasar yang ada di Indonesia Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat adalah untuk mengedukasi para pedagang untuk melakukan upaya pencegahan COVID-19. Metode pengabdian yang dilakukan adalah pembagian masker dan vitamin C serta edukasi tentang pencegahan COVID-19 kepada para pedagang yang berjualan di pasar Oesao. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan pada hari sabtu tanggal 09 Mei 2020 pukul 10.00-12.00 WITA. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan di pasar Oesao-Kabupaten Kupang. Total masker dan vitamin yang dibagikan sebanyak 450 paket. Kegiatan pengabdian dapat berjalan dengan baik. Pihak pengelola dan kepolisian setempat mendukung kegiatan pengabdian yang dilakukan. Para pedagang mulai sadar dan memakai masker setelah kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan walaupun belum semua pedagang menjadi sadar. Komunikasi, Edukasi dan Informasi (KIE) perlu secara berkala diberikan kepada para pedagang karena kesadaran pedagang untuk mematuhi protokol Kesehatan cukup rendah.Abstract: Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) was a new type of disease that has never been previously identified in humans and causes human respiratory tract disorders. The market was one of the potential places for the transmission of COVID-19. There have been many cases of COVID-19 transmission that have occurred in markets in Indonesia. Community service aims to educated traders to make efforts to prevent COVID-19. The service method carried out was the distribution of masks and vitamin C and education about the prevention of COVID-19 to traders selling in the Oesao market. This community service activity was held on Saturday, May 9, 2020, at 10.00-12.00 WITA. This service activity was carried out in the Oesao market, Kupang Regency. The total masks and vitamins distributed were 450 packages. Community service activities can go well. The management and local police support the service activities carried out. The traders began to realize and wear masks after this service activity, even though not all traders become aware. Communication, Education, and Information (IEC) need to be periodically provided to traders because the traders' awareness to comply with Health protocols is quite low.

  This community service activity aims to provide opportunities for students to apply knowledge to build public awareness in preventing and overcoming the problem of the Covid-19 pandemic. The activity took place in Karacak Village, Leuwiliang District, Bogor, West Java. The method used is descriptive qualitative analysis based on observation and community participation in the field. The domicile-based thematic KKN was filled with activities for attaching posters, distributing masks, learning assistance, reading aids, work assistance, making hand sanitizers, socializing good hand washing, happy healthy exercise, and teaching assistance at TPQ Barkatul Huda in Kp. Lebak Sirna Rt 04/03 Karacak Village. The positive response given by residents is very diverse. The average citizen gave a good response to the holding of this domicile-based KKN.

The community service activity was conducted in Candi Rejo Village, Biru-biru District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra Province. This activity aimed to ensure the availability of seeds at the farm level by providing assistance to community nurseries. The types of plants that were seeded such as: coconut, durian, avocado, mindi  and cocoa. The five types of plants were needed by the local community. Agroforestry (combining cocoa and wood species such as mindi, coconut, avocado, durian and others) was a system used by the Candi Rejo Village community.

Abstract   Exploitation of natural resources through unlicensed gold mining (PETI) is not in accordance with mining operational standards occurring along the Noeltoko River, West Miomaffo Subdistrict, Timor Tengah Utara Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province resulting in damage and environmental degradation. Changes and environmental damage include the formation of dug holes around the river flow, turbidity of water, changes in river flow. Other problems that arise are conflicts between these PETI workers and with other communities. This community service activity aims to provide an understanding to the community about the importance of maintaining and caring for rivers from excavation in the river walls that can cause debris / landslides explaining the impact of the use of hazardous materials such as mercury / mercury and cyanide, socialization of regulations regarding the formation of People's Mining Areas (WPR) ), introducing "sluice box" equipment to help the process of separating gold sand from sand. This activity was supported by the UPT ESDM Atambua Branch and was followed by 40 people who used to mine on the Noeltoko river. It is expected that the guidance and assistance can raise public awareness to be able to mine but still preserve the environment   Keyword: PETI, Noeltoko, WPR, sluicebox,   Abstrak   Eksploitasi sumber daya alam melalui Penambangan Emas Tanpa Izin (PETI) tidak sesuai dengan standar operasional penambangan terjadi di sepanjang sungai Noeltoko-Kecamatan Miomaffo Barat, Kabupaten Timor Tengah Utara Propinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur yang mengakibatkan kerusakan dan penurunan kualitas lingkungan. Perubahan dan kerusakan lingkungan tersebut diantaranya terbentuk lubang-lubang galian di sekitar aliran sungai, kekeruhan air, berubahnya aliran sungai.. Permasalahan lain yang timbul adalah konflik antar pekerja PETI ini maupun dengan masyarakat lain. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman kepada masyarakat mengenai pentingnya menjaga dan merawat sungai dari penggalian di dinding sungai yang dapat mengakibatkan runtuhan/longsoran menjelaskan dampak penggunaan bahan berbahaya seperti air raksa/merkuri dan sianida, sosialisasi peraturan tentang pembentukan Wilayah Pertambangan Rakyat (WPR), mengenalkan peralatan “sluice box” untuk membantu proses pemisahan buiran emas dari pasir.Kegiatan ini didukung oleh pihak UPT ESDM Cabang Atambua dan dikuti oleh 40 orang masyarakat yang biasa menambang di sungai Noeltoko. Diharapkan dengan adanya pembinaan dan pendampingan dapat menimbulkan kesadaran masyarakat untuk dapat menambang namun tetap menjaga kelestarian lingkungan   Kata kunci: PETI, Noeltoko, WPR, sluicebox

Cassava Peel

The waste of cassava peel is thrown away by the community, cassava peel can be used as a variety of snacks including sticks. Sticks are an attractive, varied and easier to carry, can be an innovation in increasing people's income. The service activity aims to provide knowledge, skills and guidance to PKK mothers, UMKM people in processing products made from cassava peel into sticks in Kampung Panjang Village. This activity is expected to motivate the entrepreneurial spirit towards innovative and economical efforts to increase income. The method of this activity is counseling in the form of serving the benefits of cassava peel and training and guidance on how to process cassava skin into steak. The results of the community service are obtained: a) Participants knew the benefits and importance of training cassava peel processing as an alternative to household side activities, b) Activness the participants during the service shows a positive response seen from the enthusiasm, discussion, question and answer and good cooperation. c) The achievement level of the target program has been the participants who have applied the processing of cassava peel to sticks with various flavors.

The number of Covid 19 cases is increasing and cannot be ignored considering the increase every day continues to increase. The impact of the Covid 19 pandemic has an impact on various fields, especially the economy. To avoid the increasing number of sufferers, the government limits activities that cause crowds, maintains distance and maintains hygenicity in the community in carrying out daily activities known as health protocol regulations. The behavior and actions of the community must change completely from the usual actions that are often carried out, for that it is necessary to have socialization on how to prevent the transmission of Covid 19 by implementing the health protocol that has been advised by the government. The purpose of this community service activity is to remind and help public understanding of the implementation of health protocols during the Covid 19 pandemic. The form of activities is in the form of counseling, giving hand sanitizers and masks. Lack of public awareness and knowledge about Covid-19 can be overcome by providing knowledge, through socialization about the importance of implementing this activity protocol in order to help people face New normal conditions, by helping people live by complying with health protocols. The results of the activity obtained the enthusiasm of the residents in following the activity until the end with the many questions asked. Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kondisi kurangnya kemampuan spasial siswa. Kartografi merupakan seni teknik dan proses dalam pembuatan peta. Peta merupakan representasi atau gambaran unsur-unsur atau kenampakan abstrak yang ada kaitannya dengan permukaan bumi. Dalam pemanfaatannya, seni kartografi dapat membantu siswa dalam hal pemahaman spasial (ruang). Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk melatih keterampilan siswa dalam menggambar berbagai kenampakan atau fenomena atau simbol (dapat berupa titik, garis dan area), melatih ketelitian menggambar peta, dan menambah pendalaman materi pembuatan peta. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan dengan metode pembelajaran praktikum terbimbing. Praktikum ini dilaksanakan dalam waktu sehari dan diikuti oleh 40 siswa. Hasil pengabdian ini menunjukkan respon positif, hal ini ini bisa dilihat dari antusiasme para siswa serta testimoni yang diberikan oleh siswa.Kata Kunci: Kemampuan Spasial; Seni Kartografi.AbstractThis community service is motivated by the lack of students' spatial ability. Cartography is an engineering art and a process in making maps. Maps are representations or depictions of abstract elements or features that are related to the surface of the earth. In its use, the art of cartography can help students in terms of spatial understanding (space). This dedication activity aims to train students' skills in drawing various appearances or phenomena or symbols (can be in the form of points, lines and areas), train the accuracy of drawing maps, and increase the depth of map making material. This service activity is carried out using guided practicum learning methods. This practicum was held in one day and attended by 40 students. The results of this service show a positive response, this can be seen from the enthusiasm of the students and the testimonies given by students.Keywords: Cartography; Spatial Ability.

Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kompetensi profesional guru MTs DDI Padanglampe, Kabupaten Pangkep, Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan, dalam bidang penulisan karya tulis ilmiah, khususnya artikel ilmiah untuk publikasi jurnal. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan metode pelatihan. Pelatihan diberikan kepada 25 guru dan dilaksanakan dalam tiga tahapan, yakni tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Materi-materi pelatihan yang diberikan mencakup prinsip dasar penulisan karya ilmiah, karakteristik, langkah-langkah, sistematika karya tulis ilmiah, serta praktik penyusunan artikel ilmiah untuk publikasi jurnal. Pelatihan yang telah diberikan kepada guru MTs DDI Padanglampe menghasilkan artikel-artikel ilmiah yang layak untuk disubmit ke jurnal-jurnal. Selain itu, pelatihan ini mendapat respon yang sangat positif dari para guru, karena selama ini mereka masih kesulitan menyusun karya tulis ilmiah.The purpose of this community service activity is to improve the professional competence of teachers of MTs DDI Padanglampe, Pangkep Regency, South Sulawesi Province, in the field of writing scientific papers, especially scientific articles for journal publications. Activities are carried out using training methods. Training was given to 25 teachers and implemented in three stages, namely preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The training materials provided cover the essence of writing scientific papers, characteristics, steps, systematic scientific papers, and the practice of writing scientific articles for journal publications. The training that has been given to Padanglampe MTs DDI teachers produces scientific articles that are ready to be submitted to journals. In addition, this training received a very positive response from the participants, because so far they still have difficulty in preparing scientific papers.

ABSTRAKCoronavirus disease-2019 atau yang lebih dikenal dengan Covid-19 merupakan virus yang menyerang sistem pernapasan manusia yang dapat menyebabkan infeksi saluran pernapasan manusia, batuk pilek hingga yang lebih serius adalah seperti Middle East Repiratory Syndrome (MERS) dan Severe Acute Respiratoey Syndrome (SARS). Penyebaran COVID 19 semakin meningkat dan semakin masif sehingga perlu dilakukan pencegahan sejak dini salah satunya dengan menjaga pola hidup sehat dan bersih. Pola hidup sehat dan bersih sangat penting untuk ditingkatkan, pola hidup sehat salah satunya dapat dimulai dari menjaga kebersihan lingkungan,akan tetapi di RT Kubur Telu kesadaran masyarakat dalam menjaga kebersihan lingkungan masih minim. Oleh karena itu perlu adanya penggerak yang dapat memotivasi masyarakat dan menjadi contoh bagi masyarakat guna menciptakan lingkungan yang bersih, nyaman dan aman. Berdasarkan permasalah tersebut tim melakukan pengabdian kepada masyarakat melalui kegiatan PPM. Tujuan dari PPM ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat hidup sehat dengan melaksanakan protokol kesehatan. Kerjasama kemitraan merupakan metode yang sesuai untuk menjalin kerjasama dengan masyarakat Kubur Telu. Therefore, it is necessary to have an activator who can motivate the community and become an example for the community to create a clean, comfortable and safe environment. Based on these problems, the team provides community service through PPM activities. The purpose of this PPM is to increase public awareness of healthy living by implementing health protocols. Partnership cooperation is an appropriate method for cooperating with the Kubur Telu community. Based on Riskesdas in 2018, the prevalence of diabetes mellitus in Indonesia based on interviews showed an increase from 1.1 percent (2007) to 2.1 percent in 2019. The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) estimates that DM sufferers in Indonesia in 2020 will amount to 178 million people aged over 20 years and assuming a DM prevalence of 4.6%, 8.2 million DM patients will be obtained. The most data on visits from internal medicine policymakers at the outpatient clinic of Islamic Hospital in Surabaya were diabetes militus. One of the most common complications of diabetes mellitus is diabetic foot, which can manifest as ulcers, infections and gangrene and Charcot's arthropathy. The method used in this community service activity is carried out to increase knowledge and understanding of public awareness by doing foot exercises to reduce sugar levels. This community service activity is carried out by educating patients with diabetes at the Internal Medicine Department of the Islamic Hospital Surabaya. Diabetes exercise carried out by the GLC group which was carried out independently by the participants showed an average decrease in sugar levels with an average of 12.5 points with participants who routinely did regular exercise 4 times a week showing the largest number of points of decline.
