Entrepreneurial success is crucial to ensure the sustainability and competitiveness of an enterprise. To this end, the objective of the study is to develop a comprehensive conceptual framework that examines the factors that contribute to entrepreneurial success among young agropreneurs in Malaysia. This study is a review of the literature on factors that can influence entrepreneurial success. The study found that there are two main factors, namely internal factors and external factors that can lead to entrepreneurial success. The internal factors studied in this study are related to the individual aspects of the individual young agropreneur including entrepreneurial mindset, entrepreneurial skill, entrepreneurial attitude, and religious value, while external factor is government support. In addition, the conceptual framework also proposes testing of two moderating factors, namely religious value and government support, which moderates the relationship between entrepreneurial mindset, entrepreneurial skill, and entrepreneurial attitude towards entrepreneurial success. Further, the researcher will use this conceptual framework to conduct an empirical study using a quantitative method to answer research questions related to factors contributing to entrepreneurial success among young agropreneurs in Malaysia.

This chapter considers the most commonly occurring ‘mental condition defences’, focusing on the pleas of insanity, intoxication and mistake. The common law historically made a distinction between justification and excuse, at least in relation to homicide. It is said that justification relates to the rightness of the act but to excuse as to the circumstances of the individual actor. The chapter examines the relationship between mental condition defences, insanity and unfitness to be tried, and explains the Law Commission’s most recent recommendations for reforming unfitness and other mental condition defences. It explores the test of insanity, disease of the mind (insanity) versus external factor (sane automatism), insane delusions and insanity, burden of proof, function of the jury, self-induced automatism, intoxication as a denial of criminal responsibility, voluntary and involuntary intoxication, dangerous or non-dangerous drugs in basic intent crime and intoxication induced with the intention of committing crime.

After the authors of this study encounter a series of peculiar examples of products and services that are not normally sold online in Canada, the authors assess the psychometric properties of net-enablement capability, as an internal rather than external factor, regarding the decision to implement online selling tools as technology innovation to achieve growth. According to the literature, other authors rarely consider internal factors when they assess the relationship between technology adoption and business model innovation. The study contributes to the continuous dialogue involving the Net-Enabled Business Innovation Cycle (NEBIC) model by analyzing online sellers and offline sellers in Canadian sectors with below-average rates of online selling adoption. The findings indicate that net-enablement capability is a significant internal factor that positively affects innovation in business models for Canadian online sellers across different sectors regardless of the level of online selling adoption rate.

Calls for more in-depth research on the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation (EO) and business performance have been dominant. Thus, this research explores whether the relationship between EO and the performance of small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) is conditioned (or affected) by some moderating factors. A framework is proposed which considers how networks, environmental conditions, entrepreneur’s experience, and entrepreneur’s level of education can moderate this relationship. From a sample of 204 SMEs, our study shows that not all factors, internal and external to the EO, have the same effect. Although the entrepreneur’s experience (as an internal factor) and the nature of the environment (external factor) have not been shown to influence the relationship between the EO and the performance of the SMEs, we found that both education and networks positively impact the EO and performance relationship.

Individual’s behaviors, mindset and personality is greatly affected by their social circle and shaped by their past experiences, leading the individual to develop resilience against stressful situations and adversaries. Such situations are mainly experienced during adolescence stage presenting an opportunity to understand how individuals think they will react to stressful times and what measures do they consider if and when crises hit. The inevitable goal of this research is to find out how and if individuals build resilience to negative situations and find themselves to express and feel happiness instead of succumbing to negative emotions and behaviors. For a better understanding of their self-resilience, we created a framework of Internal and External Resilience to guide us with the findings. This research was conducted during the early stage of the COVID-19 spread, which did not present to be a pandemic at the time and had not affected one’s life as gravely. In gathering our research, questions that will be kept in mind but are not limited to, include: how do two individuals who experience similar situations react in different ways, one left negatively affected while the other unaffected? Do past experiences make individuals more resilient to situations that they came into contact with? With those probing questions, we would be able to further understand the relationship between building resilience and experiencing hopelessness in times of crises. Keywords: resilience, adversaries, crises, hopelessness, psychological immune system

Abstract How can we stimulate policymakers to make strategic decisions that enhance public service performance? Traditional strategy theories have not enabled us to answer this question. These theories focus on strategy processes or content in public organizations and networks and directly link these to public service performance. This article defines and elaborates on a conceptual framework that uses theory from behavioral science to unravel how policymakers can make strategic decisions that actually enhance the performance of public organizations and networks. This conceptual framework is labeled ‘behavioral public strategy’ and conceptualizes public strategy as a social process shaped by the individuals, teams and tools underlying it. Behavioral public strategy thus focuses on the micro-foundations of public strategy and how these micro-foundations influence strategic decisions. Moreover, behavioral public strategy links meso- and micro-levels by proposing a bathtub model where the relationship between public strategy and public service performance at the organizational and network levels is explained by the relationship between the micro-foundations of public strategy and the ensuing strategic decisions at the individual and team levels. This article connects three research streams that have been like ‘ships that pass in the night’, namely public strategy, behavioral public policy and behavioral public administration.

Successful enterprise has been related to numerous characteristics including entrepreneurial orientation. The current study aims to examine the influence of individual entrepreneurial orientation and grit dimensions on entrepreneurial success. The potential mediating role of consistency of interest and perseverance of effort, on the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and success, was also explored. Survey data were collected in Tripoli, Libya from entrepreneurs during the current economic downturn and crisis. The data from the usable 147 responses was analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modelling. The statistical results revealed a significant relationship between the individual entrepreneurial orientation, consistency of interest, and perseverance of effort, with the dependent variable, entrepreneurial success. The dimensions of grit were also found to mediate the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and success. The cross-sectional nature of the study and the smaller sample size make the findings difficult to generalize. Verification of the significance of success predictors can unravel concerns about the low rate of established and nascent businesses despite the presence of opportunities and positive perception of entrepreneurship. The study of grit dimensions as a mediator between the individual entrepreneurial orientation and success is unprecedented.

Just a little part of SMEs are fruitful in accomplishing remarkable execution and maintainable development, The writing shows that there is as yet a hole for powerful approaches to expand the size of that division. This paper expects to contribute in filling the hole by distinguishing factors influencing SME execution and, subsequently, their turn of events; and to build up a reasonable system clarifying their connections. The writing uncovers that despite the fact that there is positive connection between government support, training, digital marketing, financial capital and SMEs performance, the relationship is as yet uncertain; proposing that there are mediating develops between the five builds. Field perceptions and writing surveys propose a second-request develops serving directing parts between government support, training, digital marketing, financial capital and SMEs performance that may explain the relationship, i.e., risk control. Albeit the connections among the six builds have been broadly concentrated in the surviving writing, this paper is one of only a handful few endeavors, assuming any, in researching the six develops in an extensive structure as a reason for additional examinations. On the off chance that exactly upheld, the proposed system may give a powerful option in helping business people and SMEs players to build up their venture all the more viably.
