Research background: The role of communication has now become much more critical than during previous periods, not only to compete with other organisations in the stream of communicating messages but also to develop and implement organisational strategies and support the organisation’s top-level managers and decision-makers. The goal of public relations (PR) associations is to develop PR professionals’ competencies. Comprehensive research at the European level signals the need for constant improvement of competencies, especially business development and technologies (Zerfass et al., 2020; Adi, 2019). A vast majority of practitioners across Europe highlight the importance of digitalising stakeholder communications and building a digital infrastructure to support internal workflows (Zerfass et al., 2021). However, instead of technical and managerial training, PR practitioners continue to overwhelmingly offer communication training and development opportunities (Tench et al., 2013; Zerfass et al., 2018; MacNamara et al., 2017; Feldman, 2017; The USC Annenberg Centre for Public Relations, 2017; Communicating AI, 2019). There are discrepancies between the perceived importance of competencies and the current qualifications of professionals due to digital transformation and changes impacted by globalisation. Purpose: To identify changes in PR specialists' competencies due to the impact of globalisation. Methods: Content analysis of information provided in the webpages of international professional PR associations for the period 2015–2020. Findings and value added: The study results show that professional PR associations do not respond to the challenges of the changing environment in a timely manner by providing training, but present and discuss relevant topics with the help of specialists from other fields while encouraging the sharing of good practices. Such a functioning position occupied by professional PR associations in developing the model of competence for PR specialists reveals that PR associations are engaged in strengthening or maintaining competencies, but not developing them.

Employee advocacy has become a buzzword that has captured the interest of organizations. Despite the increased attention, employee advocacy is an understudied topic in the public relations literature. Hence, the purpose of this study was to fill a gap in public relations research on employee advocacy by examining internal communicators’ thoughts on how they can influence this type of behavior. Through interviews with 25 practitioners, the results indicated that the drivers of employee advocacy could be divided into three factors: individual (i.e., emotions, job attitudes, person-organization, fit, personality, and instrumental value), group (i.e., leader-member relationship and group cohesion), and organizational (i.e., organizational culture, top management, communication management, and socialization). Additionally, internal communication can influence employee advocacy through corporate communication strategies (i.e., openness and transparency, positivity, legitimacy and empowerment, and recognition) and employee advocacy management factors (i.e., understand business objectives, policies and guidelines, facilitation, interesting and meaningful content, and collaboration).

The development of increasing infrastructure development gave birth to the rapid development of service companies engaged in construction. Delay is one of the obstacles to development because the completion time does not match the one specified in the employment contract document. The delay in the construction project means the increase in the timing of the completion of the planned project and is contained in the contract documents agreed by both parties, namely the first and second parties. This study is to look for factors that affect the delays of construction projects, identify the role of legislation, and identify contracts. This research method is qualitative that is by observation and interview with resource person from Dinas Pekerjaan Umum Dan Tata Ruang that is PPK and staff. Also speakers from private contractors are supervisors, structural estimators, and some staff. On the scope of Government projects, the three dominant factors that affect the construction project's delays are weather, labor, and design. On the scope of Private projects, the three dominant factors that affect construction project delays are weather, material, and finance. The laws governing the delay are Law No.2 / 2017 article 54 paragraph (1) and (2), Perpres No.54 / 2010 Jo Perpres No.35 / 2011 Jo Perpres No.70 / 2012 and LKPP No.14 / 2012. The clause on the delay in the government work contract is in the SSUK, namely the critical contract, the term SSKK, and the bank's guarantee. Clauses on Private contracts namely the breach of wanprestasi and sanctions, and bank guarantees.

E-governance is a paradigm shift over the traditional approaches in Public Administration which means rendering of government services and information to the public by using electronic means. In the past decades, service quality and responsiveness of the government towards the citizens were least important but with the approach of E-Government the government activities are now well dealt. This paper withdraws experiences from various studies from different countries and projects facing similar challenges which need to be consigned for the successful implementation of e-governance projects. Developing countries like India face poverty and illiteracy as a major obstacle in any form of development which makes it difficult for its government to provide e-services to its people conveniently and fast. It also suggests few suggestions to cope up with the challenges faced while implementing e-projects in India.

PurposeIn the construction industry, site managers are responsible for the day-to-day on-site running of a project. Site managers are required not only to ensure that work is done safely, on time, within budget and to the right quality standards, but also to manage any delays or problems encountered on-site during a construction project. Thus, a site manager has a significant position in the success of a construction project. However, there is a lack of studies considering the role of the leadership style of a site manager in construction project success. In this study, not only the effect of the transformational leadership (TL) style of site managers on the success of construction projects is assessed, but also the mediating role of team-building (TB) and team innovation between TL and project success is studied.Design/methodology/approachThe proposed hypotheses are tested by comparing the performance criteria of construction projects with the TL style of site managers. The success criteria of the projects are examined using project documents and client opinions, and the TL of site managers, TB aspects and team innovation in projects are assessed by asking from their subordinates. The Pearson correlation coefficient is employed to investigate the relation between every two variables.FindingsThe results illustrate that the TL of a site manager is directly related to project success; thus, the findings would confirm the importance of selecting appropriate site managers for construction projects. Moreover, while there is a mediating role of TB between TL and construction project success, team innovation does not have a mediating impact in design-bid-build (DBB) construction projects.Originality/valueAs there is a lack of studies assessing the TL effects on the success of construction projects and the significant role of site managers, this study is one of the first researches that tested these impacts and evaluated the mediating role of TB and team innovation between TL and project performance.
