In practice, the use of instantaneous samples for statistical control of the process is often impossible due to technical conditions or is not economically feasible. In this case, the process is monitored by individual observations. To control the average level of a multiparametric process based on the Hotelling algorithm, appropriate methods have been developed, but when controlling multidimensional scattering based on the generalized variance algorithm, a number of problems arise. Various approaches to the estimation of the generalized variance are proposed in the article, and their comparative analysis is carried out. The practical application of the proposed algorithms is also considered.

Some techniques of statistical process control can be applied in investigating an object for likely defects. In this regard, the multidimensional scattering is monitored with the use of a generalized variance algorithm. At fixed time intervals samples of observations are recorded, according to which the values of the determinant of covariance matrix (the generalized variance) are calculated. The corresponding point, falling outside the borders of control chart, indicates the process failure. The test results based on vibration data obtained from the hydraulic unit at the Krasnopolianskaia Hydroelectric Power Station showed that the algorithm of the generalized variance has an insufficient quick response relating to both gradual and spasmodic changes in the scattering level. To make the monitoring process more efficient, the following techniques have been suggested. The first one detects defects by analyzing special kind structures on the generalized variance chart. The second technique applies the warning borders on the chart and the third one implies an algorithm of exponentially weighted moving averages for generalized variance. All the tests revealed that the search for nonrandom structures on the generalized variance chart is most effective for the early detection of changes in the scattering process.

The research was carried out to improve the humidity parameters and durability index in the balanced feed for poultry in flour and pellet, to guarantee the quality and avoid contamination in the mycotoxin finished product. Samples of flours and pellets were used for four months to evaluate and standardize the pelletization process, to produce balanced food, which is intended for bird consumption in each of the breeding, posture and fattening phases, guaranteeing them a healthy development. In this investigation, we worked with two pelletizing machines of model 700 and model 702 to keep a statistical control of humidity and durability index (IDP), to avoid product losses in the pelletizing process. The contribution of the present investigation was to reduce the economic impact of the feed processing plant since reprocesses were significantly reduced.

To control the stability of the functioning of aviation equipment units based on the results of monitoring a group of indicators, methods of statistical processes control can be used. In the presence of significant correlations between performance indicators, multivariate methods are used. In this case, the control of the average level of the process is carried out on the basis of the Hotelling algorithm, the control of multivariate scattering is carried out using the generalized variance algorithm. If, according to the conditions of the process, it is necessary to ensure the fastest detection of a violation, then the optimization problem of finding such values of the sample size, sampling frequency and position of the control boundaries is solved that minimizes the average time of the unstable state of the process. The initial data are the number of process indicators monitored, the target value of the generalized variance (estimated from experimental data), the characteristic of the permissible increase in scattering, the intensity of process disturbances (parameter of the Poisson distribution); time to search for a violation after its detection and time to calculate the sample element.

The article presents a comparative analysis of the water-holding ability of leaves (WAL) and its connection with the freezing of the shoots of apricot seedlings of various ecological and geographical origins. A non-linear relationship was found between the WAL of the leaves of apricot seedlings and the freezing of the shoots. It was revealed that seedlings with shoot damage to the average level, WAL are higher (12-15% water content in leaves after 24 hours) than those with slightly submerged (0.8-6%). In severely freezing genotypes (freezing 60-100%), on the contrary, is lower than winter-hardy. The correlation before the peak was 0.79 *, after the peak -0.98 *, significant at the 0.05 significance level.

Abstract This paper presents a comparative analysis of heat input per unit length and per unit volume for selected methods of welding. The purpose of the analysis is to assess the usability of calculating heat input per volume unit. The interpretation of heat input per unit length according to the standards: QW-409.1 of ASME IX, EN ISO 1011-1 is discussed. The concept of calculating heat input per unit volume is described. For exemplary padded welds and spot welded joints, the heat input values were calculated in accordance with the above-mentioned standards and based on the concept of heat input per unit volume. The study showed a lack of consistency between the individual standards in the interpretation of the heat input. In addition, the practical application of the heat input per unit volume method in calculating the actual amount of heat introduced into the weld was justified.

The survey was conducted during 2018-19 in Mandya district of Karnataka to analyse the livelihood security of the farmers practicing divergent farming systems. From Mandya district two taluks were considered i.e., K.R.Pete and Pandavapura. Major farming systems in each taluk were identified after thorough discussion with extension professionals of line departments and interaction with farmers and two predominant farming systems were selected from each taluk i.e., ‘paddy+dairy’ and ‘paddy+dairy+horticulture’ farming systems from K.R.Pete taluk and ‘sugrcane+dairy’ and ‘sugarcane+dairy+horticulture’ farming systems from Pandavapura taluk. For each farming system 30 respondents were selected, hence the total respondents selected was 120. A comprehensive scale was developed to measure livelihood security of the respondents adopting divergent farming systems. The study revealed that, under ‘paddy+dairy’ farming system, more than half (66.66 %) of the farmers fall under poor level of livelihood security. In ‘paddy+dairy+horticulture’ farming system more than two fifth (43.33 %) of the respondents fall under average extent of livelihood security. In case of ‘sugarcane+dairy’ farming system, 40.00 %) of the respondents fall under to poor extent of livelihood security. In case of ‘sugarcane+dairy+horticulture’ farming system, more than half (53.33 %) of the farmers belonged to average level of livelihood security. Furthermore, the results also showed that, there is a symbolic difference between livelihood security of farmers practicing ‘paddy+dairy’ and ‘paddy+dairy+horticulture’ farming systems at 1 per cent level of consequence. The U (6.00) value indicated that, there is a symbolic difference between livelihood security of farmers practicing ‘sugarcane+dairy’ and ‘sugarcane+dairy+horticulture’ at 1 per cent level of significance. The Chi-square value (24.40) indicates there is a symbolic difference between livelihood security of the farmers practicing ‘paddy + dairy’, ‘pa

The article presents the results of an auditory perception study carried out with the use of Mira Stambak’s Reproduction of Rhythmic Structures, aimed at assessing the development of auditory perception. The study consisted in reproducing rhythmic structures with different levels of difficulty. The aim of the study was to assess the level of auditory perception in 6- and 7-year-old children from Poland and Czech Republic. For the purposes of the analysis, the respondents were divided into four groups, taking into account their age and place of residence. The article presents the results of the analysis of the assessment of the general correctness of the performance of tasks in each group due to the varying level of difficulty. As a result of the conducted research, it was found that the age and place of residence of the examined children determine the correctness of the performance of tasks of varying levels of difficulty assessing the level of auditory perception. The results regarding the correctness of simple tasks were not varied depending on the respondents’ age group and place of residence. In the case of tasks with an average level of difficulty, the results were comparable in both examined age and territorial differentiated groups. As regards the performance of the most difficult tasks, there were statistically significant differences between the compared groups with the highest results among 6- and 7-year-olds from Poland. Also, with regard to the total number of correctly performed tasks, there were statistically significant differences between the compared groups.
