Abstract: Sweat losses during exercise that is not balanced by adequate fluid intake can lead to increased concentrations of electrolytes, including sodium in the extracellular fluid. Excessive sweating can also cause loss of electrolytes, particularly sodium and chloride. Excessive sodium loss in sweat may cause a decrease in the concentration of sodium in the extracellular fluid. This study aimed to determine the differences of serum sodium levels before and after moderate intensity exercise in the students of the Faculty of Medicine, Sam Ratulangi University. This study was a pre-experimental with one group pre-post test design. Thirty respondents did brisk walking on the treadmill to maintain target heart rate 64-76% of maximum heart rate (200-age) for 30 minutes. The results showed that the average of serum sodium levels before moderate intensity exercise was 142,37±1,771 mEq/L, while after moderate intensity exercise was 143,07±1,639. Wilcoxon test significance value ​​in this study was p=0.033. The conclusion of this study is there are significant differences between serum sodium levels before and after moderate intensity exercise in the students of Faculty of Medicine, Sam Ratulangi University. Keywords: serum sodium, moderate intensity exercise, students    Abstrak: Pengeluaran keringat saat latihan fisik yang tidak diimbangi dengan konsumsi cairan yang cukup dapat menyebabkan terjadinya peningkatan konsentrasi natrium di dalam cairan ekstrasel. Keringat yang berlebihan dapat juga menyebabkan kehilangan elektrolit, terutama natrium dan klorida. Kehilangan natrium yang berlebihan pada keringat dapat menyebabkan penurunan konsentrasi natrium di dalam cairan ekstrasel. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana perbedaan kadar natrium serum sebelum dan sesudah latihan fisik intensitas sedang pada mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Sam Ratulangi. Jenis penelitian ini ialah pre-eksperimental dengan rancangan penelitian one group pre-post test. Latihan fisik yang dilakukan yaitu berjalan cepat di atas treadmill selama 30 menit dengan mempertahankan target heart rate 64-76% dari heart rate maksimal (200-umur) yang diikuti oleh 30 orang responden. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata kadar natrium serum sebelum latihan fisik intensitas sedang ialah 142,37±1,771 mEq/L, sedangkan rata-rata kadar natrium serum sesudah latihan fisik intensitas sedang ialah 143,07±1,639 mEq/L. Nilai signifikansi uji Wilcoxon pada penelitian ini ialah p=0,033. Kesimpulan penelitian ini ialah terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kadar natrium serum sebelum dan sesudah latihan fisik intensitas sedang pada mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Sam Ratulangi. Abstract: Excessive body heat while doing physical exercise will be excreted by sweating. Potassium is one of the electrolyte compounds incorporated and washed away together with sweat. In turn, the excessive lost of potassium in sweat can decrease the concentration of extracellular potassium level. Physical exercise can also lead to an increase in serum potassium concentration. The present study was aimed to determine the differences of potassium level before and after physical exercise at moderate intensity at students year 2010 Faculty of Medicine Sam Ratulangi University. Thirty students (27 men and 3 women) were involved in the present pre-experimental study designed with pretest-posttest. Samples were colected using purposive sampling method and analyzed further using wilcoxon test. Data was collected by determine the serum potassium levels before and after moderate intensity physical exercise. Exercise is done in the form of fast walking on a treadmill to maintain heart rate target 64-76 % of maximum heart rate (200 - age) for 30 minutes. The result showed that the average of serum potassium levels before moderate intensity exercise was 4,253±0,3683 mEq/L, and the average of serum potassium levels after moderate intensity exercise was 4,363±0,3908 mEq/L. Wilcoxon test significance values ​​in this study were p=0.110  (p>0,05). It can be concluded that there was no difference of potassium level before and after physical exercise at moderate intensity at students year 2010 Faculty of Medicine Sam Ratulangi University. Keywords: Potassium, Exercise, Moderate intensity.   Abstrak: Kelebihan panas tubuh saat melakukan latihan fisik akan dikeluarkan melalui keringat. Kalium merupakan salah satu elektolit yang terkandung dan dapat keluar bersama keringat. Kehilangan kalium yang berlebihan melalui keringat saat melakukan latihan fisik dapat menyebabkan penurunan konsentrasi kalium di dalam serum. Latihan fisik juga dapat menyebabkan peningkatan konsentrasi kalium. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perubahan kadar kalium serum sebelum dan sesudah latihan fisik intensitas sedang pada mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran angkatan 2010 Universitas Sam Ratulangi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pre-eksperimental dengan pretest-posttest design, dengan jumlah responden 30 mahasiswa (27 laki-laki dan 3 perempuan). Sampel dikumpulkan menggunakan metode purposive sampling dan dianalisis menggunakan uji Wilcoxon. Data dikumpulkan dengan menentukan kadar kalium serum sebelum dan sesudah melakukan latihan fisik intensitas sedang. Latihan fisik yang dilakukan berupa berjalan cepat di atas treadmill dengan mempertahankan target heart rate 64-76% dari heart rate maksimal (200-umur) selama 30 menit. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata kadar kalium serum sebelum melakukan latihan fisik intensitas sedang ialah 4,253±0,3683 mEq/L, dan rata-rata kadar kalium serum sesudah melakukan latihan fisik intensitas sedang ialah 4,363±0,3908 mEq/L. Nilai signifikansi uji Wilcoxon pada penelitian ini ialah p=0,110 (p>0,05). Abstract: Chloride as the major anion in the extracellular fluid plays a role in maintaining fluid and electrolyte balance. One of the factors that influence the levels of serum chloride is sweating during physical exercise. This study aimed to determine  the differenceof serum chloride levels before and after moderate intensity exercise in the students of Faculty of Medicine year 2010 Sam Ratulangi University. This is a pre-exsperimental research with pretest and posttest design with 30 students as samples. The samples were chosen using purposive sampling method and the results were analyzed using paired-sample t-test. The results showed the average levels of serum chloride before and after moderate intensity exercise are 106,10 mEq/L and 107,37 mEq/L while paired-sample t-test significance value (p) is 0,000. From the results can be concluded that there is a significant differences in serum chloride levels before and after moderate intensity exercise in the students of Faculty of Medicine year 2010 Sam Ratulangi University. Background: Sedentary behavior is one of the leading modifiable risk factors for cardiovascular disease and all-cause mortality. Physical exercise exerts beneficial physiological effects on cardiovascular fitness. Different grades of physical exercise have different effects on cardiovascular health. Objective: To compare the effect of moderate and high intensity exercise training on heart rate variability (HRV) in sedentary office workers. Methods: This study was conducted on 40 healthy sedentary volunteers aged between 20-40 years of both the genders. Participants were distributed into two groups of 20 subjects each. Subjects of group I and group II performed moderate intensity and high intensity exercise respectively on bicycle ergometer for 12 weeks. Their 5- minute ECG recording was done by three channel physiograph, and frequency domain indices of HRV and heart rate (HR) were analyzed and compared before and after exercise training. Their blood pressure was also recorded and compared before and after exercise training. Independent sample t-test and paired sample ttest were used for statistical analysis. Results: HF, systolic and diastolic blood pressure reduced significantly after exercise in group II (p=0.015, 0.005, and 0.015 respectively) while HR and LF/HF ratio reduced in both group I and group II (p=0.000 for HR, and 0.034, 0.001 for LF/HF). The decrease in HR was greater after high intensity exercise than moderate intensity exercise (p= 0.025). Conclusion: Parasympathetic activity improves after moderate and high intensity exercise but improvement is more after high intensity exercise training. Therefore, high intensity exercise training is more beneficial than moderate intensity exercise training. J Bngladesh Soc Physiol 2021;16(1): 16-23

In recent years, pregnant women in China generally face problems such as unbalanced and excessive nutrition, lack of proper exercise during pregnancy, which shows a significant increase in weight during pregnancy, leading to an increasing trend of perinatal complications. At present, there is less sports health management system for pregnant women throughout pregnancy. In view of this, based on the existing research in related fields, this study deeply explores the appropriate monitoring methods of pregnant women’s sports in China. In this study, effective and convenient testing methods and evaluation criteria were proposed for pregnant women’s sports and psychology. The research idea was a method based on the pulse wave to detect pregnant women’s cardiac reserve capacity, and grading the Diastolic/Systolic value of pregnant women as a reference for grading individualized target heart rate range of moderate intensity exercise. The effective time and energy expenditure of pregnant women were assessed by monitoring the exercise process. The purpose is to help and guide pregnant women in the whole process of pregnancy self-movement management, and thus improve the quality of maternal health care services in China.

Background: Lactating mothers were successful in giving exclusive breastfeeding as much as 42% based on SDKI (Survei Demografi Kesehatan Indonesia) in 2012. This is depend on the support of husbands and families as well as health workers. Thus, the husband or family should remind and motivate mothers as well as monitor the breastfeeding activity every day for 6 months using breastfeeding calendar.Objectives: This study aimed to determine the increase in knowledge and attitudes of mothers in providing exclusive breastfeeding after the exclusive breastfeeding calendar training.Materials and Methods: The research design used a quasi-experimental one group pre-test post-test design. This research was conducted on mothers who had babies (age 0-12 months) in Pasawahan Village and Pasawahan Kidul Village, Pasawahan District, Purwakarta Regency in April to November 2018, with 96 respondents. The sampling technique was conducted by purposive sampling. Data were collected by giving questionnaires to respondents, before and after the breastfeeding calendar training were given. The Wilcoxon test was used for the analysis of the data in this study.Results: The results showed that there were differences in the knowledge of mothers before and after training on breastfeeding calendar (p <0,000) and there were differences in the attitudes of mothers before and after the training on breastfeeding calendar (p <0,000).Conclusions: There was an increase in knowledge and changes in the attitude of mothers towards exclusive breastfeeding after being given the breastfeeding Calendar training. Therefore, suggestions for health workers, especially midwives and nutrition workers, can use the breastfeeding calendar as an educational medium to increase husband and family support in exclusive breastfeeding.

The increasing number of elderly and elderly life expectancy is a challenge for health workers. Decreased cardiac endurance, muscle strength and increased incidence of inflammation will occur in the elderly as we get older. health cardio exercises series-I is an aerobic exercise that has moderate intensity and is carried out for 30 minutes, research is needed to analyze the effect on cardiac endurance, muscle strength and decrease plasma TNF-? levels in the elderly. Research design with experimental method, pre-test and post-test design approach. The study was conducted for 4 weeks on 25 samples which were divided into 3 groups of frequency of health cardio exercises series-I to measure endurance of the heart. A 6-minute road test and muscle strength were used for hand grip strength dynamometer, test back and leg dynamometer. Measurement of plasma TNF-? levels is carried out using the Elisa method. The data was then analyzed using paired t-test to see differences before and after health cardio exercises series-I. The results showed health cardio exercises series-I performed 3x / mg can increase the heart's endurance compared to the frequency of 4x / mg and 5x / mg (-16.11 vs 15.62 vs -47.62 meters). health cardio exercises series-I frequency of 3x / mg and 4x / mg can increase back muscle strength (p-value = 0.019, p <0.05) and the frequency of 5x / mg can increase the strength of attractive shoulder muscles. (p-value = 0.033, p <0.05). Health cardio exercises series-I performed 3x / mg, 4x / mg and 5x / mg did not have a significant effect on plasma TNF-? protein expression in the elderly (0.506 vs 0.856 vs. 0.382, p <0.05). It is suggested that the elderly can do I-1 series heart exercise with a frequency of 3x / mg to increase the heart's lung endurance and back muscle strength, a health cardio exercises series-I 4x / mg series to increase muscle strength of the back back, a series of health cardio exercises series-I frequency of 5x / mg to increase attractive shoulder muscle strength.

Half of the women in Indonesia experience menstrual pain / dysmenorrhoea, 54.89%, experience various disorders including abdominal pain, cramps and back pain. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of acupressure, ginger drink and the difference in giving acupressure and ginger drink to reducing the intensity of menstrual pain / dysmenorrhea in young women at SMK Swasta PAB 5 Klambir Lima 2020. The design of this study used a quasi-experimental pre and post test with a sample of 30 students who were divided into two groups. Each group was given acupressure and ginger drink in the morning and evening during menstruation from day one to day two. Respondents were assessed for pain before and after the intervention was given. The results of the Shapiro-Wilk normality test contained Sig data (p <0.05). The Wilcoxon test has a p-value of 0.002 (p <0.05), which means that acupressure is effective in reducing the intensity of menstrual pain / dysmenorrhea, there is a p-value of 0.001 (p <0.05) which means that ginger is effective against reducing pain intensity. menstruation / dysmenorrhea, there is a p-value of 0.034 (p <0.05), which means that there is a difference in the effectiveness of acupressure and ginger drink in reducing the intensity of menstrual pain / dysmenorrhea. There is an effectiveness of giving acupressure, ginger drink, and there is a difference in giving acupressure and ginger drink on the intensity of menstrual pain / dysmenorrhea on young women. It is hoped that the school will provide ginger drinks and acupressure measures to young women who experience menstrual pain / dysmenorrhea so that they can participate in learning activities at school.

Akumulasi pertandingan dengan masa pemulihan yang singkat menyebabkan kelelahan, kerusakan dan inflamasi otot yang dapat menurunkan daya tahan otot dan meningkatkan resiko cedera. Pada keadaan cedera akut, penggunaan terapi dingin dapat mencegah kerusakan jaringan yang lebih luas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas Cold Water Immersion (CWI) suhu 15°C dan 25°C terhadap daya tahan dan persepsi nyeri otot tungkai pada pemain sepak bola usia dini. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu dengan pola Two Group Pretest-Posttest. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes dan pengukuran nyeri dan daya tahan otot tungkai. Subjek penelitian ini adalah atlet sepak bola Sekolah Sepak Bola (SSB) KKK Klajuaran usia 9-11 tahun. Teknik sampel menggunakan quota sampling dengan subyek sebanyak 14 orang. Subyek dibagi menjadi dua kelompok yaitu, perlakuan CWI 15°C (G15) dan CWI suhu 25°C (G25). Data pretest pada kedua perlakuan dan data post test kedua perlakuan diuji dengan uji Mann Whitney. Daya tahan otot dan persepsi nyeri sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan pada masing masing kelompok terkumpul dianalisis secara deskriptif dan diuji dengan analisis Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Uji efektivitas dihitung dengan membandingkan selisih data post test dan pretest terhadap data pretest. Tidak ditemukan perbedaan daya tahan otot dan persepsi nyeri sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan antara kedua kelompok perlakuan. Pada kelompok G15 terjadi penurunan persepsi nyeri sebesar 55% dengan uji wilcoxon dengan nilai p = 0,018, akan tetapi tidak ditemukan perubahan daya tahan otot setelah perlakuan. Hasil yang sama ditemukan pada kelompok G25 dimana terdapat penurunan persepsi nyeri sebesar 58% dengan uji wilcoxon dengan p = 0,018 serta tidak ditemukan perubahan daya tahan otot tungkai. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa perlakuan CWI 15°C dan 25°C dapat menurunkan nyeri tapi tidak mempengaruhi daya tahan otot. Tidak terdapat perbedaan efektivitas kedua jenis perlakuan tersebut dalam menurunkan persepsi nyeri dan meningkatkan daya tahan otot. EFFECTIVENESS OF COLD WATER IMMERSION TEMPERATURE OF 15 ° C AND 25° C AGAINST IMPROVEMENT IN ENDURANCE AND PERCEPTION OF LEG MUSCLE PAIN IN EARLY AGE FOOTBALL PLAYERSAbstractAccumulation of matches with a short recovery period causes fatigue, damage and inflammation of the muscles which can reduce muscle endurance and increase the risk of injury. In the case of acute injury, the use of cold therapy can prevent damage to broader tissue. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Cold Water Immersion (CWI) temperatures of 15 ° C and 25 ° C on the endurance and perception of leg muscle pain in early age soccer players.The design used in this study was quasi-experimental with Two Group Pretest-Posttest patterns. The instrument used was a test and measurement of pain and endurance of leg muscles. The subjects of this study were the soccer athletes of Klajuaran KKK Soccer School (SSB) aged 9-11 years. The sampling technique uses quota sampling with subjects as many as 14 people. The subjects were divided into two groups namely, 15 ° C (G15) CWI treatment and 25 ° C (G25) CWI treatment. Pretest data on both treatments and post-test data on both treatments were tested with the Mann Whitney test. Muscle endurance and pain perception before and after treatment in each group collected were analyzed descriptively and tested with the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test analysis. The effectiveness test is calculated by comparing the difference between the post test and pretest data against the pretest data. There were no differences in muscle endurance and pain perception before and after treatment between the two treatment groups. In the G15 group there was a decrease in pain perception by 55% with the Wilcoxon test with a value of p = 0.018, but there was no change in muscle endurance after treatment. Similar results were found in the G25 group where there was a decrease in pain perception by 58% with the Wilcoxon test with p = 0.018 and no changes in endurance of leg muscles were found. It can be concluded that the CWI treatment of 15 ° C and 25 ° C can reduce pain but does not affect muscular endurance. There is no difference in the effectiveness of the two types of treatment in reducing pain perception and increasing muscle endurance.

At Lack of information is a risk factor for lack of knowledge on adolescents about the eye health. Phenomenon was obtained by adolescents in Kemala Bhayangkari 4 Waru High School had never received information about eye health. When they were asked didn’t know how to keep eye health. The purpose of this study was to identify effect of counseling on the level of knowledge (know) of adolescents about eye health before and after counseling in Kemala Bhayangkari 4 Waru High School. Design of this study was Pre Experimental One Group Pre Post Test Design. Sample of this study was grade X students at SMA Kemala Bhayangkari 4 Waru which included as many as 58 inclusion criteria using simple random sampling techniques. Instrument used was a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics proportion with results before giving counseling 45% of respondents had a lack of knowledge. After being given counseling more than 50% (65%) of respondents had a good level of knowledge. Wilcoxon test results showed value of ρ (0,000) <α (0.05), so H0 was rejected, meaning that there is an influence of counseling on the level of knowledge (know) of adolescents about eye health before and after counseling.
