<p><em>This study aims to look at the form of Iraqi society's resistance to the West from the perspective of Yasmina Khadra's novel </em>Asyba&gt;h Al-Jah}i&gt;m<em>. Asybah al-Jahim's novel is considered a form of literary reaction from the author to voice justice for the oppressed Iraqi people. This study uses a review of Lucien Goldmann's theory of genetic structuralism. There are several main ideas to find out how the approach works: human facts, collective/trans-individual subjects, and world views. The method used is dielectric. Then the material object in this study is the novel Asybah al-Jahim m which is also used as primary data. The secondary source of data is required to accommodate preliminary data. Secondary data supports data obtained from searches through books, journals, and internet media related to research. The results of this study indicate that the Iraqi people's resistance to the West in the perspective of the novel </em>Asyba&gt;h Al-Jah}i&gt;m<em> </em><em>is reflected through the author's world view. EKRANISASI, DARI TRADISI TEKSTUAL KE SINEMA: KETIDAKSETIAAN TERHADAP NILAI-NILAI-NILAI DALAM SASTRA TULIS?AbstractEcranization is a wide-screening or transferring process of a novel into the movie. Ecranization can be a process of sifting or transferring or removing characteristics of a novel into a film.  This study is written descriptive-qualitatively based on data collected from the results of literature studies. The data include primary and secondary data. Primary data covers the novel of Ayat-Ayat Cinta published by PT Penerbit Republika-Basmala in 2005 which is also a material object, some quotes or dialogues in Ayat-Ayat Cinta (AAC) by Habiburahman El Shirazy and the AAC film directed by Hanung Bramantyo. The study found that despite the fact both the title of the film and the names of the main characters are the same as the novel, but the rides from novel to film have separated and distinguished the distinctive features of the media itself with their respective rides, novel vehicles and movie rides. We can neither expect the loyalty of a film to the novel as the source of the story because there will certainly occur changes following the nature of the media and their respective lovers. It is important to emphasize that in distinguishing how to enjoy two different mediums it is necessary to appreciate the works of literature to avoid disappointment because of the natural differences that must exist between the film and the novel.Keywords: Ayat-Ayat Cinta, difference, ecranization, film, novel, media AbstrakEkranisasi adalah proses pemutaran film layar lebar atau transfer sebuah karya novel ke dalam bentuk film. Ekranisasi merupakan proses penyaringan atau pemindahan karakteristik novel ke dalam sebuah film. Penelitian ini ditulis secara deskriptif-kualitatif berdasarkan data yang dikumpulkan dari hasil studi kepustakaan. Data meliputi data primer dan data sekunder. Data primer mencakup novel Ayat-Ayat Cinta yang diterbitkan oleh PT Penerbit Republika-Basmala pada tahun 2005 yang juga merupakan objek material, beberapa kutipan atau dialog dalam Ayat-Ayat Cinta (AAC) oleh Habiburahman El Shirazy dan film AAC yang disutradarai oleh Hanung Bramantyo. Kajian ini menemukan bahwa kendati judul film dan nama-nama tokoh utama dalam film AAC sama dengan novelnya, namun wahana dari novel ke film telah memisahkan dan membedakan ciri khas media itu sendiri dengan wahana masing-masing. Terkait wahana yang harus diciptakan, kita memang tidak bisa mengharapkan kesetiaan film terhadap novel sebagai sumber ceritanya, karena pasti akan terjadi perubahan mengikuti sifat media dan pecinta karya sastra film tersebut. Penting untuk ditekankan bahwa dalam membedakan bagaimana menikmati dua media yang berbeda tersebut diperlukan apresiasi terhadap karya-karya sastra untuk menghindari kekecewaan karena perbedaan alamiah yang harus ada antara film dan novel.Kata Kunci: Ayat-Ayat Cinta, perbedaan, ekranisasi, film, novel, media

The objective of this research is to find out whether the application Preview, Read,Write, and Recite (PRWR) method improve student’s achievement in readingrecount text. This research applied classroom action research model. This studywas done in six meetings. The subject of this study was first year of SMAN 1Delitua. Primary data were collected by giving 20 questions of multiple-choicetest, the aspects contained in the tests focused on generic structure, main ideas,factual information, and Secondary data were collected by (interview, observationsheet, and questionnaire sheet. Based on analysis data, it was found that thestudent’s achievement improved. It could be seen from the comparison of result inthe orientation test and the cycle test I and II. There were only 9 students who hadpassed minimum criteria KKM in orientation test (75). The improvement showedthat in cycle I and II, based on the total average score it was 16 (42,4%) up to 26(78,7%) in cycle II, The secondary data gathered from interview, observationsheet, and questionnaire sheet, showed that students’ expression and enthusiasticalso improved. Thus, it was found that the applications of Preview, Read, Write,and Recite (PRWR) method in process of teaching improved students’achievement in reading recount text. It is suggested that English teachers applyPRWR method in teaching reading recount text.

<p><em>Abstrak </em><strong>- </strong><strong>Aguk Irawan adalah salah satu sastrawan yang menggunakan sastra novel sebagai media dakwahnya. Penanaman pesan-pesan moral-spiritual penulis kepada pembaca melalui tokoh yang dihidupkan di dalamnya. Peneliti tertarik dengan salah satu karya beliau untuk diteliti yang kemudian terangkum dengan judul, “Maqamat Tokoh Midah dalam Novel <em>Mekkah: Memoar Luka Seorang TKW</em> Karya Aguk Irawan”. Novel yang terinspirasi dari kisah nyata ini menggambarkan tentang pengembaraan jiwa seorang perempuan dalam menemukan Tuhannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode <em>library research</em> atau penelitian kepustakaan. Adapun sumber data yang digunakan adalah sumber data primer yaitu novel <em>Mekkah: Memoar Luka Seorang TKW</em>, sedangkan sumber data sekundernya adalah beberapa karya Aguk Irawan yang lain dan juga sumber referensi yang terkait dengan penelitian. Berdasarkan hasil analisa yang telah peneliti lakukan dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa novel <em>Mekkah: Memoar Luka Seorang TKW</em> merupakan novel yang mengandung ajaran tasawuf. Aguk Irawan menyampaikan ajaran tasawufnya melalui tokoh Midah Hamidah yang terangkum dalam laku kehidupannya sehari - hari. Peneliti menemukan beberapa maqamat yang tergambar dari tokoh Midah Hamidah, diantaranya adalah: taubat, zuhud, sabar, syukur, dan ridha. Novel karya Aguk Irawan ini sangat berguna untuk digunakan sebagai media dakwah di kalangan remaja maupun masyarakat pada umumnya.</strong></p><p><em>Abstract -</em><strong> </strong><strong>Aguk Irawan is one of the writers who used novel literature as his propaganda media. Planting the writer's moral-spiritual messages to the reader through the characters who are turned on in them. Researchers are interested in one of his works for research which is then summarized with the title, "<em>Maqamat Tokoh Midah dalam Novel Mekkah: Memoar Luka Seorang TKW Karya Aguk Irawan</em>”. This novel, inspired by a true story, depicts the wandering of a woman's soul in finding her God. This research uses library research or library research. The source of the data used is the primary data source, namely the Mecca novel: Memoirs of Luka of a TKW, while the secondary data source is some of Aguk Irawan's other works and also a reference source related to research. Based on the results of the analysis that researchers have done, it can be concluded that the novel <em>Mecca: Memoirs of Luka of a TKW</em> is a novel that contains the teachings of Sufism. Aguk Irawan conveyed his Sufism teachings through the figure of Midah Hamidah summarized in his daily life. Researchers found several maqamat drawn from the Midah Hamidah figures, including repentance, zuhud, patience, gratitude, and pleasure. This study attempted to explore the process of word formation and its social function of slang words on Rich Brian's official music video, precisely in the comment section of the newest song of him, D.O.A that released on 25 August 2020. This study employed discourse and sociolinguistics aspects; hence, this study's research design was a descriptive qualitative. Additionally, this study's object was a one-month comment section of Rich Brian's newest song official music video. Furthermore, there were two sources of data, primary and secondary data sources. The primary data were a comment section of Rich Brian's newest official song music video, while the secondary source was from available works of literature and urban dictionary. Therefore, to collect the data, this study did the documentation from the D.O.A. official music video from one-month duration comments. As the data obtained, there were 49 slang words found. Then, they were analyzed through Yule (2010)�s theory as the basis of word formation process standard, while Zhou & Fan (2013)�s theory was used as the basis of word formation function standard. Data analysis is divided into several steps: reading, collecting, classifying, and analyzing the data. The result showed that derivation was the highest frequency of the word-formation process. It was 22%, the acronym was 18%, coinage was 16%, the conversion was 14%, blending was 12%, compounding was 8%, clipping was 6%, borrowing and multiple processes were 2% of each. Besides, the highest social function was to express emotive feeling with 49 % quantity of the frequency. The second higher was to pursue self-identity, achieving politeness was 8%. This study suggested a more in-depth analysis of non-standard languages, such as swear words or taboo words and emoticon that can be done through a social semiotic approach.

This research aims to show the influences of the power of discourse: genre, gender, and colonialism in Unbeaten Tracks in Japan by Isabella Lucy Bird. Some travel writing’s paradigms were used as theoretical background in this research, such Sara Mills and Carl Thompson. As an object of the research, the novel became the source of primary data. Another historical and cultural literary and also literary review of Unbeaten Tracks in Japan as secondary data. The result of the research examined that contestation of discourses implied the way of the author to preserve his stories.

In Malaysia, for over a decade a product of Zingibereacea familia especially ginger are coming as one of the famous product in Malaysian market. The study brings out green product from Zingiber Officianale Roscoe (Ginger) among 100 respondents in Kota Bharu, Kelantan with a primary objective to search a response from the customer’s either this product can be presumed to be environmentally safe should be preserved as a medicinal plant and commercialized within and outside the country. In regard to the fact that “Green Marketing” is developed as a products that are presumed to be environmentally safe. The objective of this research was to determine usage profiles and some variables that influence the purchase decision of herbal medicine in Kota Bharu Kelantan, and (2) to evaluate the consumer’s response on the development of Zingiberacea Familia Based Product, either it can be a symbol of herbs that can be lifted as a health and beauty product in the preservation and preservation of Malay culture. Primary data was collected from the survey tabulated within the Kota Bharu society, and secondary data was collected from the available literature sources. The core idea of the finding are a world view is also a two-way bridge: A respondent shows a positive reaction that Zingibearacea Familia product could be be a symbol of herbs that can be lifted as a health and beauty product in the preservation and preservation of Malay culture. On the other hand, only age characteristic showed significant influence on purchase decision of green product from Zingiberacea Familia, on the other hand races, level of education and job sector didn’t show positive influence

Technological development causes infringement to e-book copyright especially e-novel by copying and distributing it without rights for example that is loaded on the website. In line with that, this study aims at explaining and analyzing the protection of adaptation rights for infringement in the form of e-novels by the website in the perspective of copyright law; and explaining and analyzing the legal consequences of the use of the e-novels by the website on the adaptation rights of the creator. This research uses normative juridical research with the approach to applying the laws of UUHC and the case approach in the form of the infringement of the e-novels on the website in www.corongbaca.com. The primary data taken from interview and the secondary data obtained from library studies. The data analyzed qualitatively and descriptively. The result of the study indicates that protection of the creator's adaptation rights from infringement of e-novels by the website in this case has not been realized because the creator who made the e-novel does not get benefit from the adaptation rights of the novel, namely royalties that are distributed based on an agreement with the website then regarding the legal consequences of using e-novels by websites on the author's adaptation rights, there are two consequences that have been carried out, namely: deletion of website content from www.corongbaca.com, and complaints to the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DGIP), but there has been no follow up on the complaint. As for claims for compensation and criminal charges, the parties did not do so.

The objectives of this study are to reveal the causes and negative impacts of overprotective mother’s attitude towards her child in the best-selling novel entitled My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult, and to see how overprotective Sara Fitzgerald as a mother who has an overprotective attitude towards her second child. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with library study to find out the overprotective mother and how the overprotective developed by applying internal and external overprotective theory and mother's theory. The primary data used is the novel itself. Secondary data are books and articles relating to conflict theory. The results showed that there was a major problem that caused by Sara Fitzgerald as an overprotective mother and the impact of her overprotective attitude towards her daughter. There are two causes that Sara becomes an overprotective mother to her second daughter: her illness and her recovery and the impact towards her third daughter  is lacking affection and suffering.

Penelitian ini bertujuan Untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis tanggung jawab penyidik terhadap tersangka yang melarikan diri dan masih dalam tahap penahanan penyidik pada Kepolisian Daerah Sulawesi Barat dan Untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis bentuk sanksi yang dijatuhkan kepada penyidik terhadap tersangka yang melarikan diri dan masih dalam tahap penahanan penyidik pada Kepolisian Daerah Sulawesi Barat .Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah jenis penelitian Yuridis Empirik, yaitu penelitian hukum mengenai pemberlakuan atau implementasi ketentuan hukum normatif secara in action pada setiap peristiwa hukum tertentu yang terjadi dalam masyarakat , metode pendekatan yuridis empirik digunakan untuk mengkaji atau menganalisis data primer yang berupa data - data di lapangan tempat penelitian, hasil wawancara langsung yang diajukan ke responden kemudian dihubungkan dengan data - data sekunder berupa bahan - bahan hukum, untuk menganalisis tanggung jawab Penyidik Kepolisian Terhadap Tersangka Yang Melarikan Diri Dan Masih Dalam Tahap Penahanan Penyidik Pada Kepolisian Daerah Sulawesi Barat. This study aims to identify and analyze the responsibilities of investigators for suspects who fled and are still in the detention stage of investigators at the West Sulawesi Regional Police and to find out and analyze the form of sanctions imposed on investigators of suspects who fled and are still in the detention stage of investigators at the West Sulawesi Regional Police. The type of research used is empirical, juridical research, which is legal research regarding the enforcement or implementation of normative legal provisions in action on every particular legal event that occurs in society. The empirical juridical approach method is used to examine or analyze primary data in the form of field data from the location where the research is conducted. The results of direct interviews submitted to the respondents are then linked to secondary data in the form of legal materials, to analyze the responsibility of the Police Investigator for the suspect who escaped and is still in the Investigator's detention stage at the West Sulawesi Regional Police.

This study examines the process of transmitting traumatic memory in a novel Kadang Suriname Sanak Merapi by Fuji Riang Prastowo. Through analysis of traumatic transmission it will be known how the formation of a structured transmission. The purpose of this study is to dismantle the structure of transmission through the process of traumatic transmission from the first generation to the next generation. This research uses Postmemory Theory by Marianne Hirsch. Collecting data in this study conducted in the form of collecting primary data and secondary data. The results of this study are: 1) there are two transmissions that make up the novel, namely the familial transmission of grandmothers and parents so that it leads to affiliative transmission obtained from the office, 2) the Indonesian and Dutch governments experienced hypermasculinization. While Indies and exiles are Infantilized, 3) cropping was done by dominating the story of Indies and exiles as an effort to reconstruct memory.AbstrakPenelitian ini mengkaji proses transmisi memori traumatis dalam novel Kadang Suriname Sanak Merapi karya Fuji Riang Prastowo. Melalui analisis transmisi traumatis maka akan diketahui bagaimana pembentukan tramsmisi yang terstrukur. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah membongkar struktur transmisi melalui proses transmisi traumatis dari generasi pertama ke generasi selanjutnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori postmemory yang dipelopori oleh Marianne Hirsch. Pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini dilakukan dalam bentuk pengumpulan data primer dan data sekunder. Hasil penelitian ini yakni: 1) ada dua transmisi yang membentuk novel, yaitu transmisi familial dari nenek dan orangtua sehingga hal itu mengantarkan kepada transmisi afiliatif yang diperoleh dari kantor; 2) pemerintah Indonesia dan Belanda mengalami Hypermaskulinized. Sedangkan Indies dan orang-orang buangan mengalami Infantilized; 3) cropping dilakukan dengan mendominasikan cerita Indies dan orang buangan sebagai upaya rekonstruksi memori.
