Spiritual well-being is one dimension of health that provides a person with stability, meaning, fulfillment in life, and self-belief. This study aimed to compare the spiritual well-being among students of Kerman University of Medical Sciences and the Shahid Bahonar University of Kerman. With the demographic questionnaire and 20-item spiritual well-being scale of the “Paloutzian and Ellison” questionnaire, a cross-sectional study was conducted on 626 students of the universities of medical and nonmedical sciences by the quota sampling method in Kerman in 2017-2018. The scores of spiritual well-being and its two components were significantly higher in nonmedical science students (89.83 ± 16.79) than in the medical science students (81.61 ± 15.21) ( p < 0.05 ). In addition, one percent of the nonmedical science students had a low level, 67.7% had a moderate level, and 31.3% had a high level of spiritual well-being. 0.3% of the medical science students had a low level, 84% had a moderate level, and 15.7% had a high level of spiritual well-being. Since spirituality is important for the profession of medical science students, it may be necessary to expand this component in their curriculum.

Being a lecturer and educational staffs are a noble task because they aimed to build a greater young generation for the nation, so that their welfare should be well-attended. Well-being or is divided into two types, which are objective well-being (OWB) and subjective well-being (SWB). This is a descriptive survey research and focused more on SWB. The respondent criteria were lecturer and educational staff at the EB and P faculty, thus obtaining 74 respondents. The scale used in this study is SWB scale adapted from the Subjective Well-Being Inventory (SUBI) (Nagpal & Sell, 1992), using an interval scale, and presented in statements. Examining the results, it can be seen that more than half (71.62%) of the respondents considered that their life had been positive, both physically and mentally, which was indicated by a high SWB level. As many as 20 respondents (27.03%) were at moderate level, and only 1.35% or 1 respondent had a low SWB level. Perceived ill-health dimension is the most contributor to the low level of SWB, which related to physical complaints experienced by individuals, such as pain, a racing heart, frequent dizziness, easily tired, sleep disturbed, and worrying about their health.

Internationalization is one of the current directions of education development. Specially organized university work and identification of features of self-actualization in foreign students will contribute to the development of more effective programs of psychological support during socio-psychological adaptation. Aim. The paper aims to identify the personal features of foreign students with a high and low level of self-actualization during socio-psychological adaptation. Materials and methods. 52 foreign students aged from 18 to 32 years studying in London were examined. The study was based on the following methods: Yankovsky questionnaire of adaptation to a new socio-cultural environment, the Rogers and Diamond technique of diagnosis of socio-psychological adaptation, the Jones and Crandall Short Index of self-actualization, etc. The results for interpretation were obtained by statistical analysis (Mann – Whitney criterion) and correlation analysis (Spearman rank correlation coefficient) using SPSS 22.0 statistical software package. Results. Foreign students with a high level of self-actualization experience subjective well-being, and social surrounding is significant to them; however, subjective well-being is reduced when it is impossible to preserve individuality and choose a conformal type of adaptation. Foreign students with a low level of self-actualization have a subjective disadvantage that lessens when maintaining their individuality, pragmatic orientation, the acceptance of others, and self-actualization. Nevertheless, foreign students with a low level of self-actualization demonstrated a correlation between self-actualization and the interactive type of adaptation. Conclusion. The prospects for self-actualization of foreign students with a high and low level of self-actualization and the specifics of their socio-psychological adaptation have been studied.

The author analyzes definitions of the concepts of determinants of crime given by various scientists and offers her definition. In this study, determinants of crime are understood as a set of its causes, the circumstances that contribute committing them, as well as the dynamics of crime. It is noted that the Russian legislator in Article 244 of the Criminal Code defines the object of this criminal assault as public morality. Despite the use of evaluative concepts both in the disposition of this norm and in determining the specific object of a given crime, the position of criminologists is unequivocal: crimes of this kind are immoral and are in irreconcilable conflict with generally accepted moral and legal norms. In the paper, some views are considered with regard to making value judgments which could hardly apply to legal norms. According to the author, the reasons for abuse of the bodies of the dead include economic problems of the subject of a crime, a low level of culture and legal awareness; this list is not exhaustive. The main circumstances that contribute committing abuse of the bodies of the dead and their burial places are the following: low income and unemployment, low level of criminological prevention, poor maintenance and protection of medical institutions and cemeteries due to underperformance of state and municipal bodies. The list of circumstances is also open-ended. Due to some factors, including a high level of latency, it is not possible to reflect the dynamics of such crimes objectively. At the same time, identification of the determinants of abuse of the bodies of the dead will reduce the number of such crimes.

It is well documented that self-control has a positive effect on individuals’ subjective well-being. However, little research has focused on the moderators underlying this relationship. The present research used two studies to examine the moderating role of both trait and state motivation on the relationship between self-control and subjective well-being using psychometric and experimental models, respectively. In Study 1, we explored whether trait motivation (including promotion vs. prevention motivation) moderated the relationship between trait self-control and subjective well-being using a psychometric model. In Study 2, we examined the moderating effects of both trait and state motivation on the effect of state self-control (measured via ego depletion) on subjective well-being using an experimental model. Our results indicated that self-control had a positive effect on subjective well-being, with this relationship being primarily moderated by prevention motivation. When state and trait prevention motivations were congruent, self-control had the most obvious impact on subjective well-being. This study suggests that current understandings around the association between self-control and happiness is limited, implying that motivation should be the focus of future research.

The article is devoted to the study of student's coping strategies influence on the level of their subjective well-being in conditions of distance learning. It was found that student's coping strategies have an impact on the level of their psychological comfort. Using regression analysis it was revealed that the variability of student's life well-being is determined by the following coping strategies: positive self-esteem; responsibility; planning; escape and self-control. It was developed the typology of students in the conditions of distance education, which includes such indicators of dominant coping strategies: the level of psychological comfort, dominant coping and measure of stress tolerance. According to the certain typology, three types of students were defined: 1) adaptive type (high indicators of well-being, high indicators of tolerance to stress, dominant strategies “self-esteem”, “responsibility” and “planning” ); 2) maladaptive type (low indicators of well-being, low indicators of tolerance to stress, dominant coping “escape”); 3) average adaptive type (average indicators of well-being, average indicators of tolerance to stress; dominant strategies “responsibility”, “self-control”, low indicators of coping “positive self-esteem”). The results of the study indicate that students who are best adapted to distance learning and have a high level of psychological comfort tend to evaluate themselves positively, treat work responsibly, plan their studies and have an average level of self-control.
