Background: Scoliosis is a deformity of spine that has excessive lateral curve. The deformity could becaused by postural adaptation to an imbalance of local trunk muscles or by another risk factors. There are tworisk factors, that are obesity and physical activity, which have not been studied in Indonesia yet about theircorrelation with scoliosis The aim of this study was to analyze the relationship between body mass index andphysical activity with scoliosis in young adults.Method: Study design was cross sectional. The subjects were High School students in Depok, recruited byconsecutive non-random sampling. The body mass index (BMI) was measured by body weight (Kg)/bodyheight (m2). The intensity of physical activity measured subjectively by International Physical ActivityQuestionnaires (IPAQ). Detection of postural scoliosis was by inspection and palpation and the deviationmeasured by scoliometer. The data were presence in univariate and bivariate, analyzed by the Pearsen Chisquare. Results: This study conducted in 165 subjects, the mean of age was 16-17 years old. There was no correlationbetween BMI and scoliosis (p=0,11). However the higher intensity of physical activity has correlated with thelower frequency of scoliosis (p=0.00).Conclusions: The lower intensity of physical activity increase the frequency of the postural scoliosis, in theother hand there was no correlation between BMI and scoliosis in young adults. Keywords : Scoliosis, Obesity, Physical activity

Background Evidence suggests that obesity may be related toearly onset of puberty in girls. However, few studies have found alink between body mass index (BMI) and puberty onset in boys.More study is needed to assess the relationship of BMI to penilelength and testicular volume. Objective To investigate the relationship ofBMI to penile lengthand testicular volume in adolescent boys. Methods A cross􀀿sectional study was carried out on adolescentboys aged 9 to 14 years in Secanggang District, Langkat Regency,North Sumatera Province in August 2009. Subjects' BMIs werecalculated by dividing body weight (BW) in kilograms by bodyheight (BH) in meters squared. Penile length (em) was measuredwith a spatula. We took the average of three measurements fromthe symphysis pubis to the tip of the glans penis. Testicular volume(mL) was estimated by palpation using an orchidometer. Pearson'scorrelation test (r) was used to assess the relationship of BMI topenile length and BMI to testicular volume.Resu lts There were 108 participants, consisting of 64primary school students and 44 junior high school students.Subjects' mean age was 11.7 (SO 1.62) years; mean BWwas 35.2 (SO 8.48) kg; mean BH was 1.4 (SO 0.11) m;mean BMI was 17.5 (SO 2.34) kg/m'; mean penile lengthwas 4.5 (SO 1.25) cm; and mean testicular volume was 3.6(SD 1.20) mL. We found no significant association betweenBMI and penile length (r􀀻-0.25, P􀀻0.06), nor betweenBMI and testicular volume (r􀀻-O.21; P􀀻O.09).Conclusion T here was no significant relationship ofBMI to penilelength nor BMI to testicular volume in adolescent boys.[Paediatr lndanes. 2012;52:267-71].

Background:  A trend towards in increase of hypertension in adults and children. If criteria of hypertension according to JNC VII 2003 applied to the population aged 15-17 years in Indonesia, the prevalence of hypertension in adolescents was obtained 5.3% nationally. Examination of blood pressure and factors related to blood pressure are of particular importance in children due to the decline in physical activity and weight changes contributing to blood pressure elevations that occur at this point in maturation. Blood pressure levels begin to increase as children approach adolescence. Weight control and physical activity regularly are recommended to prevent blood pressure elevations in both adult and youth. Objective: Determine the relationship between body mass index and physical activity with blood pressure in high school students in Pekanbaru.Method: This is an analytic observational study with cross sectional design. This study was involved 353 high school students in Pekanbaru who meets inclusion and exclusion criteria through cluster sampling technique. Data collected by direct measurements such as weight, height and blood pressure whereas physical activity and characteristic of the subject was collected by questionnaire. The results of the data collection were analyzed using univariate, bivariate and multivariate analysis. Results: There is a correlation between body mass index with systolic (p=0.000; r=0.238) and diastolic blood pressure (p=0.010; r=0.136). Each increase in 1 kg/m2 body mass index was linked with an increase of 2.339 mmHg systolic blood pressure and 0.979 mmHg diastolic blood pressure. However, there is no correlation between physical activity with systolic (p=0.829) nor diastolic blood pressure (p=0,643). Multivariate analysis showed that sex and screen time activity were factors most dominantly affecting blood pressure. Conclusion: There is a correlation between body mass index with blood pressure. However, there is no correlation between physical activity with blood pressure.

ABSTRACT: EMPLOYMENT RELATIONSHIP AND WORKING SCHEDULE WITH BODY MASS INDEX IN YOSODADI PUSKESMAS WORKING AREA METRO CITY Introduction: The coverage of children under five in Lampung Province in 2019 was 79%, and this figure was above the target (76.18%). This figure illustrates that participation from the community to come to posyandu is still quite good in Lampung Province, while for Metro City the percentage of data is weighted at 78.8%. Data obtained through the Metro City Health Office in 2020 at the Yosodadi Health Center obtained as many as 656 toddlers aged 1-5 years who were weighingObjective: To find out the relationship between work and work schedule with the body mass index of toddlers aged 1-5 years. Methods: This type of research is quantitative. The design in this study uses an analytical survey design with a cross-sectional approach. The population is mothers and children aged 3-5 years, which is then calculated using the Slovin formula to obtain 197 children. Sampling technique purposive sampling Analysis of univariate and bivariate data using the chi-square test. Results: working mothers as many as 107 respondents (54.3%)., standard work schedule is 8 hours per day as many as 109 respondents (55.3%), BMI is not ideal, namely < 18.5 and > 22.9 as many as 103 respondents ( 52.3%. The results of statistical tests using the chi-square test obtained p-value = 0.000 (<α0.05), p-value = 0.085 (>α0.05).Conclusion: The results of statistical tests using the chi-square test obtained p-value = 0.000 (<α0.05) which means the relationship between mother's work and body mass index of toddlers aged 3-5. The p-value = 0.085 (>α0.05) means that there is no relationship between the mother's work schedule and the body mass index of children aged 3-5 years. It is recommended that parents who have toddlers with underweight and obese nutritional status should pay more attention to parenting patterns Keywords            :  Mother's Work Work Schedule, Toddler Body Mass Index  INTISARI: HUBUNGAN PEKERJAAN DAN JADWAL KERJA DENGAN INDEKS MASSA TUBUH BALITA DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS YOSODADI KOTA METRO   Pendahuluan: Cakupan balita ditimbang di Provinsi lampung tahun 2019 sebesar 79 %, dimana angka ini diatas target (76,18%).
