Abstract   This study aims to determine the effect of emotional intelligence with the ability to manage a conflict. The experiment was held in Tangerang. The method used is ex post facto method with quantitative approach. Population sample of inmates or residents guided the study sample as many as 362 and as many as 70 people with a random sampling technique. The instrument used is to test the ability to manage conflict as the dependent variable and the scale on emotional intelligence as independent variables. From anareg  equation   Y = 1,86 + 0,16X, Fcount = 47.19, Ftable = 3.99, because the regression  is Fcount> of Ftable is very significant. To determine the linearity seen as Fcount = 1.14, and Ftable = 1.76, so it means the form of linear regression Fcount <Ftable. For Ttest, the path coefficient of 0.640 with a determinant coefficient of r ² = 0.409. It’s means that emotional intellingence gave 40.9% of the ability to manage conflict. Tcount got (6.88)> Ttable (1.67) at α 0.05. So the hypothesis is “There is the any influence of emotional intelligence with ability of Managing Conflict". Keywords: influence, emotional intelligence, the ability to manage conflict, prisoners

Emotional intelligence is crucial in life; thus, proper stimulations, including music, were necessary. The study aimed to identify the relationship between music preference and emotional intelligence and also to find if there is any significant difference in emotional intelligence among music preference groups. Descriptive correlational method with cross-sectional approach and purposive sampling technique were employed. Most of the students prefer unpretentious music genres and having "moderate" emotional intelligence (M=121.85, SD=11.3). No significant difference in emotional intelligence between music preference groups from Kruskal-Wallis analysis; however, Spearman's analysis shown that “sophisticated” music genre was positively weak correlated with emotional intelligence (p=.028<.05; r=.218). Furthermore, the music type of Gospel, New Age, Pop, Religious and Soundtracks type of music were positively weak correlated with emotional intelligence, while Punk was negatively weak correlated. It is recommended that profesi ners students be wise in music selection since music may have a significant impact on emotional intelligence, and for further studies should ensure that the participants are familiar with the STOMP that they may understand the genre. Furthermore, future studies also may use direct observatory analysis for emotional intelligence by giving situational experiment to the participant rather than just using a self-rated questionnaire.

ABSTRACT The objective of this study is to determine the effects of emotional intelligence on marital adjustment in early adulthood. The study was conducted in South Jakarta. The population of this study is the early adulthood resident of district Pela Mampang, South Jakarta . Total population is about 500 people and the researchers took 46 people as the sample in this study because they meet the study requirement. This study used a quantitative approach. The method used in this study is ex post facto. And the sampling technique is probability sampling. The type of probability sampling that is used in this study is purposive sampling, whereas the sampling technique depends on the criteria.  Data collection technique used emotional intelligence and marital adjustment scale. The analytical techniques used in this study is normality test, linear test, and regression analysis. Based on the study result, F = 275 912, p = 0.00 <0.05 (significant), suggested that there is a significant influence between emotional intelligence on marital adjustment in early adulthood. The regression equation was Y = 25 276 +0249 X. This regression suggested that if emotional intelligence is 0, then the adjustment is positive 25,769. Regression coefficient of emotional intelligence variable is 0.249 which means if emotional intelligence scores is increased, then the marital adjustment will increase 0.249. We obtained a positive relationship between emotional intelligence and marital adjustment because the coefficient is positive. This means that, higher emotional intelligence will result on higher marital adjustment. The influence of emotional intelligence variables on marital adjustment in early adulthood that is obtained by Adjusted R Square is 0859 which means emotional intelligence affect marital adjustment in early adulthood couples by 85.9%, while the remaining percentage showed that there are other factors that influence marital adjustment on early adulthood beside emotional intelligence.  Keywords: Emotional intelligence, Marital adjustment
