Currently, there is a rapid development of information technologies, the restructuring of the system of education and upbringing of the younger generation to a new level. All this forces modern society to move forward, keep up with scientific and technological progress and time. Today, the key issue of modernizing education is to improve its quality and bring it in line with international standards. The emphasis is not on the acquired knowledge, but on the process of applying this knowledge. The article deals with the main directions of development of the education system and theoretical aspects of the development of the information and educational environment in the context of updated education. A new generation of school children can easily master any new digital and multimedia technology. Teachers are tasked with directing the student's development vector in the right direction. To do this, methods of working with students are being improved. The article describes pedagogical technology as information technology, since the basis of the technological process of learning is the acquisition and transformation of information. The paper considers a single information and educational space that can provide students with the opportunity to use a wide range of educational content (electronic textbooks, video courses, etc.), using interactive technologies to compensate for gaps in education, to realize their creative abilities through participation in various competitions, olympiads, festivals, conferences. Use the system of additional education without interrupting training due to various factors. The Internet environment for teenagers has long been clear and close, and it is believed that it can become a productive platform for improving education. As one of the areas of relevance of the research, the authors will determine the current trends in the development of computer science as a science, in particular, the transition to e-learning in the framework of updated education. The developers of modern educational standards emphasize the need to create an information and educational environment (IEE) in educational organizations that ensures the formation of universal educational actions of students. Thus, the understanding of the environment as a field of obtaining information is replaced by the understanding of the environment as a field of constructing ways of students ' activities. Such an environment from the point of view of the conducted research should be created on the basis of the system integration of ICT tools into the traditional educational environment. The complexity of the work of teachers is due to the lack of a unified model of integrative IEE in educational organizations. The search for effective ways to integrate traditional and innovative environments largely depends on the activities of subject teachers, who are able to turn the potential of the subjectoriented IEE to achieve qualitatively new educational results. The article presents a theoretical description of integrative activity-based IEE, which can serve as a basis for innovative activity of teachers. The article reveals the content and structure of the information and educational environment. The leading approaches to defining the concept of information and educational environment in pedagogical science are substantiated. The features of creating this environment in a secondary school are revealed. The authors conclude that the creation of an information and educational environment is one of the most important indicators of the quality of the education system.

The article challenges the thesis that western societies have moved towards a post-heroic mood in which military casualties are interpreted as nothing but a waste of life. Using content analysis and qualitative textual analysis of obituaries produced by the Royal Danish Army in memory of soldiers killed during the Second World War (1940–1945) and the military campaign in Afghanistan (2002–2014), the article shows that a ‘good’ military death is no longer conceived of as a patriotic sacrifice, but is instead legitimised by an appeal to the unique moral worth, humanitarian goals and high professionalism of the fallen. The article concludes that fatalities in international military engagement have invoked a sense of post-patriotic heroism instead of a post-heroic crisis, and argues that the social order of modern society has underpinned, rather than undermined, ideals of military self-sacrifice and heroism, contrary to the predominant assumption of the literature on post-heroic warfare.

The article deals with methodological aspects of the development of ecological culture of schoolchildren in a multicultural educational environment. The authors identify two acute problems in modern society – multiculturalism and ecology. The Russian Federation is a multicultural country. Multicultural education is aimed at preserving the diversity of Russian society, carries the potential and tool for protecting ethnic and national communities in a multi-ethnic Russia, promotes the integration of all territorial-economic, political and national-cultural communities into a single Russian nation, allows a person to adapt to a multicultural world, helps a person understand himself and the people around him and promote the social role of a cultural person in society. The authors consider the relationship between multiculturalism and ethnopedagogy, identify the main pedagogical approaches and principles of development of multicultural education. The article notes the importance of integration of two significant areas in education and in the world - ethnology and ecology. Together they make an ethno-cultural module and an eco-cultural module which form the values for the society sustainable development. The possibility of using the technology of project activity through the implementation of ethno-ecological projects of students is considered. The authors note that ethnoecological projects on the dominant activity of students can be of different directions: research, educational, creative or practical ones. The most effective way to work on projects is through the implementation of a system of eco-oriented multicultural project weeks. Authors pay an important attention to the projects aimed at studying the ethnoecological traditions of the native land, the peculiarities of its geography, climate, natural landscape, flora and fauna, reflected in folklore, folk crafts, cults, rituals, holidays, legends, myths, etc.

The article presents the results of the study of satisfaction with the psycho-didactic component of the educational environment as an indicator of threats to the psychological health of schoolchildren in three groups: parents, teachers and heads of educational organizations. The total number of respondents in the sample was 16,808 people. Satisfaction with the educational environment in the following characteristics was studied: satisfaction with 1) the content of education, 2) the conditions of training, 3) the techniques of training and education used in educational organizations. A pairwise comparison of the results obtained in three groups of respondents revealed statistically significant differences in all characteristics. At the same time, parents showed the highest degree of satisfaction with the psycho-didactic component of the educational environment, which may be due to their insufficient involvement to the educational process and incomplete awareness of the real situation in the schools. Teachers and school heads are less satisfied with the psycho-didactic component of the educational environment and therefore see more risks and threats to the psychological health of children.
