The paper presents a study on the quality of architectural education at the Faculty of Architecture (FA) of the University of Ljubljana (UL) and the changes as a result of adopting the new rules, criteria and evaluation systems. In order to improve the quality of education at FA, we look at the indicators related to the data on student learning outcomes and the education as a whole. The formal data and the comparison of performance (quality) indicators between 2006 and 2012 are shown. Additionally, the basic scope of the Long-cycle Master's Study Programme in Architecture (MSPA) is presented in terms of content and mobility. The focus of architectural education at the UL FA, which includes practical, artistic and research work, and simulates work in the architectural studio, is on Design Studio course, which is directly complemented by the Architectural Workshop course. The work that includes both the individual approach and team work promotes connections among foreign and Slovenian students. Four cases in point are presented, confirming the significance of creative work within the courses of Design Studio, Architectural Workshop and Master Thesis.

Regardless of the discipline or institution in which scientific research will be conducted, the "method» is present. It remains fundamental of all research work that can inevitably affect problem-solving, development of the nation, and threaten quality of life. This is an exploratory study on research methods used in graduation projects in the following disciplines (health sciences, engineering, biological and agronomic sciences, and social sciences). The method used in this work is based on:(a) semi-structured survey by interviewing supervisors of final dissertations and theses in different selected disciplines (b) systematic analysis of the fifty-research work of graduate students. The works obtained from the libraries of the University Hassan II of Casablanca in different disciplines, submitted between 2014 and 2018. The parts of the empirical phase were analyzed, according to the processes and concepts of each discipline, to highlight the elements of the research method. The findings indicated the influence of the national scientific production by the design of the research method. The data collection and analysis are the sections that may affect the integrity of the research method. Our contribution is to remedy the standardization of the method and adapting it to the contexts of the needs of different disciplines.

Abstract: We live in a society that increasingly often uses visual language and image as a system of representation and interaction. Thus the imaginary system becomes of vital importance in the communication processes. The school has ceased to be the main source of information and training for adolescents. Nowadays, students who come to class do so in possession of a significant amount of knowledge arising from their social practices, their interactions and the context in which they develop. In a progressive and almost imperceptible way, the fragments of information acquired in these exchanges, together with the images that the subject captures, are composing their structures of meanings and shaping their social imaginary. All this creates in the individual constructs and entrenched preconceptions, which he uses to interpret his reality and determine the way in which they intervene with it. The lack of knowledge or disengagement of the experience itself, prior and parallel to the school, that students own, results in a situation where teachers are unable to provide potentially meaningful contents for students which could motivate them to initiate and maintain the learning process. This article presents some of the most relevant information contained in a research work carried out at the University of Seville on the conceptual world of students of artistic education of ESO and/or Bachillerato. Keywords: constructionism, meaningful learning, social imaginaries, social interaction, education research, concept maps.http://dx.doi.org/10.7203/eari.8.9965

One of the most important functions of management is control. Without its implementation the manager won't achieve the objectives. On methods of implementation of function of control in management many works are published. However in system personal, that is personal, management of this function in scientific literature much less attention is paid. In a special measure such situation is characteristic of a problem of the personal organization of high school managers. University managers play a special, significant role in development of the higher education. Carry to them managers of departments, deans, the rectorial case, and also heads of functional services of management of university (educational and methodical, scientific, financial, cultural and educational and other divisions). Relying on understanding of an essence of personal management, in article scientific and methodical approaches to implementation of function of self-checking personal activities of university managers are considered. Usually activities of managers are estimated quality of work of subordinate divisions of university, and problems of an efficiency evaluation of the personal activities which aren't connected with a management of higher education institution often remain in the shadow. However, as a rule, managers of departments, deans, rectors (and their deputies) are not only managers, but also professors and associate professors interested in results of the personal activities in science, pedagogics, public life. In our opinion, productivity, effectiveness and efficiency of a personal labor can be the indicators allowing university managers to control the personal activities. Faithful at first sight, these concepts, actually have semantic distinctions, but in a complex allow the high school manager to perform real self-checking of the individual activities as scientists and teachers. Within the research content and forms of self-checking in the sphere of personal management is determined, the sense of key concepts, content and features of personal work of university managers is revealed, experience of implementation of the offered approaches is generalized, recommendations about use of the offered indicators in case of a quality evaluation of activities of high school managers are made.

The didactic regulations of the study courses govern teaching activities for the specific aspects of each single course in compliance with the University didactic regulations. This work is the result of an analytical research, through which every single didactic regulation of the 27 Italian Universities that include the Degree Course in Speech Therapy in their training offer was researched and analyzed. To carry out this analysis we first traced the teaching regulations of the CdS using the Universitaly portal and the individual websites of the various universities; afterwards, the study of the documents found was carried out. The purpose of the story elaborated is to evaluate whether in Italy there is a certain homogeneity in the training offer and in the teaching methods for the degree courses in speech therapy. Furthermore, through this research it is possible to see the quality of the Degree Course and of the training provided with a constructive intent and not with the aim of making a critique as an end in itself. In order to obtain the absolute homogeneity of training among students and to minimize the differences between the same Degree Courses, the hope is that sooner or later we will obtain a single and valid didactic regulation for the Degree Courses of the same profession present on the Italian territory.

Evic, Vera.  Trip to the Moon.  Iqaluit, NV:  Inhabit Media, 2013. Print. This simple story manages to be simultaneously local and universal.  Most children can relate to dreaming about flying to the moon, having the sensation of falling while they are dreaming and actually  falling out of bed during a dream.  That’s what happens in this story.  However, the characters in this story live in Pangnirtung on Baffin Island in Nunavut, and the story reflects things local to that place.  In many “flying to the moon” stories, children fly on a magic carpet, boat or a rocket, but these children find a dented and dirty oil drum rusting on the beach and that becomes their enchanted conveyance. This book is the result of a contest, designed to encourage literacy in the community.  Vera Evic’s story was selected from those submitted.  The illustrations are done by five youths who are members of the Pangnirtung-Uqqurmiut Inuit Artist Organization.  Every other page is a full-page brightly-coloured illustration, each showing the individual illustrator’s style.  All of the illustrations depict local things – kids on bikes, houses on stilts, tundra landscape.  Even the little people they meet on the moon are dressed in Inuit style clothing.  While the level of skill varies among the illustrators the differences are charming rather than jarring. The text is printed in English and Inuktitut syllabics. The story is easy to read and appropriate for the intended pre-school and early elementary school audience.   This book deserves stars for the creative involvement of community, the support of literacy and Indigenous language retention in young children and also for the quality of the end product.  Highly recommended for public and elementary school libraries.Highly recommended: 4 stars out of 4 Reviewer:  Sandy CampbellSandy is a Health Sciences Librarian at the University of Alberta, who has written hundreds of book reviews across many disciplines.  Sandy thinks that sharing books with children is one of the greatest gifts anyone can give.
