BACKGROUND: The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) contagion which has resulted in millions of casualties worldwide has been bringing pressure and challenges to nursing students undergoing clinical rotation programs. In Indonesia, several schools of nursing have issued policies to keep facilitating clinical rotation education in the hospital. This policy identified several challenges that the students should face. AIM: This study aimed to explore nursing students’ challenges and experiences undergoing clinical rotation programs during the COVID-19 pandemic. METHODS: A qualitative descriptive approach to content analysis was employed. The study participants were 31 nursing students who undergo clinical rotation. These participants were purposefully chosen to use criteria. Participants’ age ranged from 23 to 25 years and has passed both the intensive care unit and intensive cardiovascular care unit stage. Data were collected through focus group discussion which was carried out 4 times and each FGD lasted for 90–120 min then analyzed using content analysis method that includes five major segments: Introduction, coding, theme creation, thematic classification, and reporting. RESULTS: The themes from the study included negative emotion in the initial stage, positive emotions, a competency that difficult to achieve, and strategies for coping and self-care. CONCLUSION: Constructive emotion coping strategy is believed to assist students in dealing with challenges amid the clinical rotation program. Implementation of clinical rotation learning for nursing students requires preparation from various aspects, such as student readiness, clinical supervisors, and support from academic institutions.

Background: Nursing is a dynamic profession. On the other hand, due to its poor social image, it is not regarded as a first career choice. Nurses’ poor social image converts into a big challenge as the country is facing chronic nurses’ shortage and retention issues. Both problems warrant devising policies to increase students’ enrollment in nursing programs. Therefore, it is very necessary to explore nursing students’ perceptions regarding their decision to choose nursing as a career. Methodology: A qualitative descriptive study was employed which included a convenience sampling and a focus group discussion method to collect the data. Data were analyzed through thematic content analysis procedure. Two group discussions were arranged with 08 participants in each group. All the participants (16) were freshly enrolled in the first year (04-year) Bachelors' of Science in Nursing (session: 2018-19) at a Nursing Institute located in a female Medical University of Sindh Province. Results: One main theme ‘nursing as an opportunity to fulfill broken dreams’ and four supporting themes as ‘broken dreams; nursing as a way to continue your education; feeling as a nursing student and nursing as my destiny’ were unearthed. Conclusion: Student nurses are demotivated because their first dream remained unfulfilled. It is their confidence in themselves and curiosity to continue their education (that they stood up and decided to join nursing) to revitalize their broken dreams. A big opportunity falls on the shoulders of the Institute specially and teaching faculty, in general, to continuously support student nurses as they reenergize themselves to grow as professional and ethical nurse practitioners in the coming days.

ABSTRACT Objectives: to compare pedagogical supervisors’ and clinical supervisors’ perceptions about the errors made by nursing students in clinical clerkship. Methods: a qualitative exploratory-descriptive study developed with 105 participants. Data collection was performed with a questionnaire with open-ended questions. Content analysis performed according to the conceptual model of student errors in clinical teaching. Results: pedagogical supervisors perceive, in descending order, errors in transversal competencies, in the execution of care and medication. Clinical supervisors perceive, in descending order, the execution of care, medication, and transversal competencies. Final Considerations: there was coincidence and complementarity in clinical supervisors’ and pedagogical supervisors’ perceptions, although not in the same order, regarding the errors made. This study presents contributions related to the existing knowledge in relation to medication errors, which are not the most perceived, and those of transversal competencies, which take on a prominent position.

This qualitative descriptive research aimed to analyze pregnancy dynamics, experienced by a group of women who, at the time, were at most 19 years old, and identify the role attributed to the consumption of alcohol in such dynamics. The research was developed with a group of 20 students from the Colombia National University. Six of them were selected for in dept investigation through interviews, which were analyzed by content analysis. Based on the literature and the subjects' life history, the study examines the following categories: pregnancy, making love, maternity, being a woman, and drinking. Through these categories, was possible to identify the dynamics experienced by these women during pregnancy.

ABSTRACTThe focus of this research is to evaluate the development of affirmative area to independent village (study of rural agroforestry development in Pangalengan Regency, Bandung Regency West Java Province), by assessing how successful the rural development program and the role of Government, local government, village government, private and community together, integrated, and multy sector in an effort to accelerate and improve the quality of service, development, and empowerment of rural community to independent village by using six evaluation policy criteria according to William N Dunn, as material for improvement of program implementation in the next year according to planning stage . The method of this research is to use the combined method of qualitative descriptive, inductive, and data collection through interview, observation, documentation and Forum Group Discussion (FGD) conducted in the office and location of the area to know the extent of the implementation of rural development. The results showed that, by considering the results of the evaluation (On -Going) almost meet the criteria of effectiveness, efficiency, adequacy, responsiveness, while the criteria of smoothing and precision has not been met optimally, and so far only focus on infrastructure activities have not touched the program of quality improvement Human resources and empowermentcommunity. it can be concluded that there is a better development of the village as a result of the implementation of development programs in the first and second year, only not yet reached the achievement of the target of the village status independently. A good comprehesion on the content of the convention of the law as formulated in the UNCLOS 1982 text translated into Konvensi Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa Tentang Hukum Laut (KPBB-HL) in Indonesian is very crucial for the Republic of Indonesia because of the potentials of the sea. The data were 399 modal in UNCLOS and its translation. The translation of the UNCLOS 1982 into Indonesian should be accurate. Inaccuracy of the translation of the text, namely modal (Alwi 1992; Lyon 1977) can cause a conflict among the neighboring countries. The research objectives were (1) to identify the translation typology of modal in UNCLOS 1982 into KPBB-HL, (2) to assess the accuracy of the translation of modal. Qualitative descriptive method and content analysis (Miles and Huberman 2014) were implemented. Focus Group Discussion with the raters were carried out to assess the accuracy (Silalahi: 2012, Nababan: 2004; 2012). The result showed that there were 8 types of modal used, namely shall (269 data; 67.5%) with 6 translation types, may (88 data; 22%) with 6 translation types, should (16 data; 4%) with 7 translation types, can (9 data; 2%) with 2 translation types, must (6 data; 1.5%) with 2 translation types, would (6 data; 1.5%) with 3 translation types, will (3 data; 1%) with 1 translation type, might (2 data; 0.5%) with 1 translation type. 325 (81%) of the modal were accurately translated, and 74 data (19%) were inaccurately translated.

Abstract Background Improving the competencies of nurses requires improving educational methods through the use of novel methods in teaching and learning. We aim to explore the perceptions of stakeholders (including nursing education directors, faculty members and nursing students) of the requirements of implementing innovative educational approaches in nursing. Methods In this qualitative descriptive study, 19 participants, including educational directors, faculty members, and undergraduate and graduate nursing students, were selected through the purposeful sampling method. Achieving the theoretical saturation in extracted categories was considered as a criterion for determining the sample size and the completion of sampling. The data were collected from December 2019 to May 2020 in nursing schools of Tehran, Iran, through in-depth semi-structured individual face-to-face interviews and were then analyzed based on the Graneheim and Lundman method. Results Using qualitative content analysis, eight sub-themes and three themes were extracted. The extracted themes were ‘novel educational policymaking’, ‘Innovative education-oriented platform’, and ‘managing barriers of innovative educational approaches’. Conclusions Developing and implementing innovative educational approaches entail providing appropriate context, structure, and required facilities by the policymaking system and educational authorities. In addition, developing capacity and related competencies of faculty members and students as the major stakeholders in employing these approaches is crucial.

The objectives of research include; first, to describe what local Islamic working ethos are as the basis for the resilience of songkok, whip and slap handicraft businesses in Serah Panceng Gresik Village. Second, to describe the resilience of the songkok, whip and slap handicraft business in the village of Serah Panceng Gresik. This study is a qualitative-descriptive study with the aim of understanding the phenomena experienced by the subject of research including behavior, perception, motivation, and action holistically by utilizing various scientific methods. Data collection methods include; Observation, In-depth Interview or Focus Group Discussion, Documentation. Data analysis techniques include: processing and preparing data for analysis, reading the entire data, analyzing in more detail by coding data, considering detailed instructions that can help the coding process, giving descriptions that will be presented in the report, interpreting and interpreting data. The results showed that in Serah Village local Islamic working ethos were preserved by the community, such as alms giving, reading dziba', reading tahlil, attending haul akbar, and reading sholawat together every Friday. Although in the tradition it does not involve songkok, whip, and slap directly, there is a good impact to support the resilience of songkok, but not whip, and slap production. Religious rituals by praying together asking Allah to facilitate and carry out business in production songkok, whip, and slap are an expression of gratitude for what God gave to the people of Serah Village. All economic activity done by Serah community is meant to get God’s willing. Keywords: Islamic Working Ethos, Handicraft Businesses

The current media environment is complex and has important effects on all aspects of life, including beauty and health. In this sense, YouTube has become one of the main contexts for the dissemination of tutorials and content related to medical procedures such as the application of Botox. Thus, the present study constitutes the first exploratory analysis of YouTube videos in Spanish related to this procedure. A preliminary analysis of 221 YouTube videos yielded a final sample of the 50 most viewed videos within this genre. The analysis was carried out through a quantitative content analysis assessing the popularity of the videos, contact and emotive strategies by the creator, the credibility conveyed, and the characteristics of information about the procedure itself. Results suggest that these influencers align with mainstream Internet celebrity culture in practices that aim at increasing their following and views, as well as calls for subscriptions and visits to other platforms and profiles. Moreover, they include different strategies to establish their credibility but emphasize personal experience. The positive portrayal of the procedure, including positive emotions and content that highlights the benefits, is interesting and supports the commercial nature of much of the content.
