Engineering education in Malaysia has moving fast in creating high quality environment for all higher educational institution graduates through several innovative and creative teaching and learning tools and methods. Stress on the quality of delivery method in higher education was also increased in order to assure that the graduates are really fulfilling the needs of the stakeholders. In this work, we have developed a Course Monitoring and Management System (CMMS) to ease the lecturers in managing and monitoring the class. User survey was conducted to identify the actual requirements and data from the survey was used to construct the CMMS. By reducing the lecturers loads in the managing and monitoring activities, lecturers can be more focus in delivering innovative and effective teaching techniques that really notable for the production of high quality graduates.

<p>This research was conducted for the purpose of getting a clear and complete <br />picture conserning the quality of teaching and learning process through eveloping and implementing jigsaw type cooparative learning model for subject of Thermodynamics. The quality of teaching and learning process can be viewed by positive response of university students towards thermodynamics subject using the implemented jigsaw type cooparative learning model. The subject of this research were students of high school class X, semester II in the academic year of 2011/2012, which were listed as learning tools needed for thermodynamics of jigsaw type cooparative learning model. The learning tool which were being developed consist of teaching materials, learning plan, and student worksheet. The research prosedure consisted of developing the tools of teaching and learning process, and the followed by realization of learning in class using the jigsaw type cooparative learning approach. The research instruments were to be observation sheet and student response questionaire towards the learning process. The reseach data were analyzed using percentage statistic. Based on the refection result towards the action which was planned beforehand and also the researh result discussion, it was found that the learning process of hermodynamics which was done by implementing the jigsaw type cooparative learning model can increase student activity in his study. Implementing the jigsaw type cooperative learning can increase the learning result of students. Most of the students who partisipated in the thermodynamics class agree and give a positive apreciation towards the implementation of cooperative learning model. They believe that with the learning group can help them overcoming the learning deterrent. </p><p> </p>

Purpose of the study: This study aimed at finding out the efficiency of traditional whiteboard use in classroom settings. It is known that there are a lot of advancements in teaching and learning tools, including the means of whiteboards which can be altered by using projectors. Methodology: This study was mainly under the qualitative design where the authors mainly weighed the data reliability on the quality of the respondents’ responses through the open-ended questionnaire set. There were 177 senior college students involved as the respondents, who volunteered to fill out the questionnaire set about the effectiveness and efficiency of whiteboard use in classroom settings. The data gathered from the questionnaire were then analyzed using percentages to see the students’ agreement on the statements in the questionnaire set. Main findings: The results indicate that students still perceive that whiteboards—despite its traditionalism—help assist their learning process. Applications of this study: However, there are several points that teachers need to justify concerning the whiteboard skills namely general writing ability including handwriting legibility, setting-up ability, making optimum use of whiteboards, and cleaning up compliance. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study takes into account the efficiency of conventional whiteboard uses in the globalized era. Although a lot of kinds of digital whiteboards and projectors are in use, students still consider that the use of conventional whiteboard is still necessary.

Relevance. The article discusses the problems of the transition of universities to a distance learning format. The transfer of universities to a remote format due to the spread of the COVID-19 virus allowed students to continue to receive training, which varied significantly due to technologies, the choice of which was determined by the current capabilities of educational institutions. The article analyzes the result of a study of the attitude and assessment of teachers and students organizing and conducting training outside the educational institution with the use of distance technologies. The purpose of the study is to identify the features of teaching and learning in a distance format in higher education during the spread of a new coronavirus infection. The objectives of the study are to identify factors that have influenced the quality of the implementation of educational programs in full in the electronic information and educational environment. The results of the study. A serious influence of the distance learning format on the quality of the teacher-student interaction was revealed (it has significantly decreased), which is undoubtedly one of the factors that reduce studentsʼ motivation to learn. For many respondents, distance learning and teaching was the first experience of a distance learning format, and therefore the attitude towards it is rather complicated. A significant scatter in the format of the classes, their completeness and content within the framework of distance learning, the low proportion of the teaching staff prepared for its implementation, and the generally low level of technical, methodological and legal support show that the majority of Russian universities are not ready to introduce distance learning. The transition to an online training format caused the majority of respondents discomfort and negative emotional experiences.

BACKGROUND Mobile apps are widely used in health professions, which increases the need for simple methods to determine the quality of apps. In particular, teachers need the ability to curate high-quality mobile apps for student learning. OBJECTIVE This study aims to systematically search for and evaluate the quality of clinical skills mobile apps as learning tools. The quality of apps meeting the specified criteria was evaluated using two measures—the widely used Mobile App Rating Scale (MARS), which measures general app quality, and the Mobile App Rubric for Learning (MARuL), a recently developed instrument that measures the value of apps for student learning—to assess whether MARuL is more effective than MARS in identifying high-quality apps for learning. METHODS Two mobile app stores were systematically searched using clinical skills terms commonly found in medical education and apps meeting the criteria identified using an approach based on PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines. A total of 9 apps were identified during the screening process. The apps were rated independently by 2 reviewers using MARS and MARuL. RESULTS The intraclass correlation coefficients (ICCs) for the 2 raters using MARS and MARuL were the same (MARS ICC [two-way]=0.68; <i>P</i>&lt;.001 and MARuL ICC [two-way]=0.68; <i>P</i>&lt;.001). Of the 9 apps, Geeky Medics-OSCE revision (MARS Android=3.74; MARS iOS=3.68; MARuL Android=75; and MARuL iOS=73) and OSCE PASS: Medical Revision (MARS Android=3.79; MARS iOS=3.71; MARuL Android=69; and MARuL iOS=73) scored highly on both measures of app quality and for both Android and iOS. Both measures also showed agreement for the lowest rated app, Patient Education Institute (MARS Android=2.21; MARS iOS=2.11; MARuL Android=18; and MARuL iOS=21.5), which had the lowest scores in all categories except information (MARS) and professional (MARuL) in both operating systems. MARS and MARuL were both able to differentiate between the highest and lowest quality apps; however, MARuL was better able to differentiate apps based on teaching and learning quality. CONCLUSIONS This systematic search and rating of clinical skills apps for learning found that the quality of apps was highly variable. However, 2 apps—Geeky Medics-OSCE revision and OSCE PASS: Medical Revision—rated highly for both versions and with both quality measures. MARS and MARuL showed similar abilities to differentiate the quality of the 9 apps. However, MARuL’s incorporation of teaching and learning elements as part of a multidimensional measure of quality may make it more appropriate for use with apps focused on teaching and learning, whereas MARS’s more general rating of quality may be more appropriate for health apps targeting a general health audience. Ratings of the 9 apps by both measures also highlighted the variable quality of clinical skills mobile apps for learning. CLINICALTRIAL

Education has certain achievement standards such as school supervision. An educational institution is required to meet the requirements of school administration. For that, school accreditation activities are conducted to improve the quality of education, especially at the institution. Some components that must be completed to conduct school accreditation activities are the instruments related to school activities such as curriculum, educator, learning process, facilities and infrastructure and financing. In the standard of facilities and infrastructure, the existence of the class becomes the core assessment as it relates to teaching and learning activities. After class physical fulfilment, good and conducive class management becomes the determinant of the effectiveness of learning activities. Therefore, good classroom management is necessary

Education is a conscious and planned effort to create a learning atmosphere and learning process that is actively able to make students develop their potential. Education is expected to be able to create students who have religious spiritual strength, self-control, personality, intelligence, and noble character. These skills are not only needed for themselves, but also useful for the people of the nation and state. Efforts that can be made to ascertain whether an educational goal has been achieved is by conducting an evaluation. This evaluation is carried out to determine whether a program is feasible. In addition, evaluation is intended to control, guarantee, and determine the quality of education related to the sharing of educational components. Evaluation is carried out at all levels and types of education in order to be accountable to students related to the implementation of education that has been carried out by an educational institution. Thus, between teaching and learning activities and evaluation is a continuous series and cannot be separated. This is because evaluation is used as a useful measuring tool to determine and determine the level of success of students in learning activities.


Engineering education was predicated on two sources. One on trade apprenticeship where people that are trained locally under the tutelage of someone are engaged in further studies to broaden their theoretical and practical knowledge. The other source of engineering education was within the four walls of the educational institution which has in its core natural sciences and it emphasizes specialization in a specific aspect of engineering. This study seeks to understand if value for money in engineering education is in theory or practice. Value for money is one of the measures of quality of education. Value for money as a concept that has been defined by various authors and the World Bank defined value for money as the effective, efficient, and economic use of resources, which requires the evaluation of relevant costs and benefits with the assessment of risks and of non-priced items and/or cost of life cycle. The objective of this research is to determine if the search for value for money in engineering education is a theory or practice. Findings from the study revealed that engineering education is one of foundation for the development of the society. By engineering education, the dynamics of life has been influenced and also human culture giving more substance to civilization and politics. It was also found out that value for money is not only a financial marker but it has with it various economic, social, physical dimension. In engineering education costs are expended and this this necessitates the drive for value for money. This study recommends that there is a need for better measures of value for money in engineering education and there is a need to advance knowledge on the theories of engineering to ensure relevance in this changing era.

Engineering education requires engineering practice, supervision, and experience. This paper examines some of the main elements of engineering education and its challenges in mechanical and manufacturing engineering courses. Innovative teaching and learning methods are discussed for introducing students to the engineering profession. A number of techniques and suggestions are provided to enhance the engineering education process. These include the importance of practice, audio- visual tools, and broadening the students' perspectives of ethical issues in engineering. Student feedback indicates that such an integrated approach enhances their learning. Industry- based projects help them to be better prepared for the graduate engineering profession as well as improve their communication skills. A number of such enhancements to engineering courses are highlighted in this paper.

Quality management is an approach to management which requires establishing quality policies, procedures and practices on regular basis. Engineering education is a process of developing techno human resources, which are to be used later as input to industry which in turn produces goods and services for the societal use. Having considered the current situation of the engineering educational system and the quality of all its individual components it can be noticed that the awareness of the importance of education as a foundation for the growth and development of the country, such as India, is not strong enough. Engineering graduates passing out from educational institutions have to fulfill modern and high standard requirements that are needed by industry. Therefore, there is a greater need to instill quality in engineering education to produce technically skilled and creative man-power in India. The continuous assessment of quality is of paramount importance for educational institution. Education efficiency and success does not depend just on quantity but as well on quality. This paper has discussed key points for the improvement in the quality of engineering education with a case study undertaken at various engineering colleges in India. The study was conducted in two phase; first phase is the critical investigation of the literature and the second phase is a study on the quality of engineering education provided by the educational institutions in Visakhapatnam city. A simple random sampling technique was adopted for the study. A research study described in this paper identifies and analyses the quality of engineering education at the educational institutions which adopt the total quality management system to increase the quality and meet the industrial requirements and then suggests some ingredients to improve the quality.

There exists nowadays an enormous variety of models of e-leaning, from the technological, methodological and management perspective. At the university level, but also in company-training, in schools and formal education institutions, the different educational models appear, moving in a continuum from those who use technology as a complement or support to traditional attended sessions, to those that base the teaching and learning process in completely online environments. They try a variety of teaching methods while using differing degrees of virtualisation in the organisation (Bates, 2005). Years ago, when ICT in education started to be widely used, the success of the e-learning experience and the institutions themselves depended on their technological means; the platform was the most important of the model adopted by e-learning institutions. Initial efforts were put in market analysis aiming at finding out which was the best platform developed by ICT providers. Major investments in economical terms were dedicated to the acquisition of what was considered “the best” platform. Some years later, it was seen that institutions were different from the rest, and that not all educational platforms could cover all their needs. They realised that the success of their educational offer could not only be based on technology but in the learning materials provided. At that moment, the industry of online resources and hypermedia materials for educational uses grew up quickly. For some years, the success of e-learning mainly depended on the quality of the online materials provided, and that distinguish one institution from others.
