Abstract Research has shown that carcass yield in swine is reduced when ingredients with high neutral detergent fiber (NDF) content. Carcass yield reduction from feeding high-fiber ingredients results from an increase in the weight of intestinal contents. NDF has been shown to result in the digestive contents to swell in the large intestine by absorbing water thus increasing the fecal volume in the large intestine. Considering the financial implications of changing carcass yield, the objective of this project was to develop a regression equation to estimate carcass yield from dietary NDF and strategies where high-NDF ingredients are taken out of the diet in the last dietary phases before slaughter (withdrawal period; WP). Data from 8 experiments (43 observations) originated from 6 journal articles and 1 technical memo were used to develop the regression equation. The WP of high NDF ingredients was either none or ranged from 5 to 63 d in the experiments. Treatment diets of each trial were reformulated to obtain dietary nutrient content using the NRC ingredient library (NRC, Nutrient requirements of swine. 11th ed, 2012). Composition of experimental diets was used to calculate dietary net energy, crude protein, crude fiber, NDF, and acid detergent fiber in the last two dietary phases. These dietary compositions along with the number of days of WP were used to develop regression equations. The model was determined using a step-wise selection procedure starting with guided forward selection through individual predictor variables, with a statistical significance at P < 0.05 used to determine inclusion of terms in the final model. The regression analysis showed that WP, NDF level in the dietary phase prior to the final phase (NDF1), NDF level in the last dietary phase before marketing (NDF2), and the interaction between NDF2 and WP were the most important variables in the dataset to predict carcass yield. The resulting regression equation was as follows: carcass yield, % = 0.03492 ± 0.02633 × WP (d) – 0.05092 ± 0.02862 × NDF1 (%) – 0.06897 ± 0.02931 × NDF2 (%) – 0.00289 ± 0.00216 × (NDF2 [%] × WP [d]) + 76.0769 ± 1.33730. In conclusion, high levels of NDF up to slaughter had a negative impact on carcass yield. Increasing the length of the WP improved carcass yield; however, the effect of WP was dependent on the level of NDF2. The equation herein provides a tool to estimate of the impact of dietary NDF on carcass yield.

The subject of the research is the approach to the possibility of using the Solow model to perform the regression analysis on the example of the Ukrainian economy model. The purpose of writing this article is to investigate the notion of regres- sion analysis, Solow’s economy model, algorithm for performing regression analy- sis on the example of Ukraine’s economy model. This model can be adapted for the economy of enterprises. Methodology. The research methodology is system-struc- tural and comparative analyzes (to study the structure of GDP); monograph (when studying methods of regression analysis on the example of the Ukrainian economy); economic analysis (when assessing the impact of factors on Ukraine’s GDP). The scientific novelty consists the features of the use of the Solow model on the ex- ample of Ukrainian economy are determined. An algorithm for calculating the basic parameters of a model using the Excel application package is disclosed. The main recommendations on the development of the national economy and economic growth through the use of macroeconomic instruments are given. Conclusions. The use of the Solow model enables forecasting and analysis. The results obtained re- vealed the problem of low resource return of capital as a resource, along with the means of macroeconomic regulation of the investment process, using which can improve the situation. A special place in these funds belongs to the accelerated depreciation and interest rate policies.

The research was carried out to find the influence of training material and methods of training toward workability. The study was conducted respectively from an employee of PD BPR Bantul Yogyakarta. The purpose of this research is expected to be useful for stakeholders in seeing CSR disclosure in the company in testing and analyzing its effect on the company's financial performance and with the presence of anti-corruption exposure, whether it will strengthen the impact of CSR disclosure on the company's financial performance. The study population in this study were all mining companies registered on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2016-2018 with a total of 63 companies. The research sample was taken using a random sampling technique that was calculated by the Slovin formula so that 54 samples were obtained for analysis. Linear Regression Analysis and Moderation Regression Analysis were chosen as the analysis technique used in this study. The results show that CSR disclosure does not affect the company's financial performance, and anti-corruption disclosure does not affect the relationship between the two.

Manpower training and development is an important aspect of human resources management which must be embarked upon either proactively or reactively to meet any change brought about in the course of time. Training is a continuous and perennial activity. It provides employees with the knowledge and skills to perform more effectively. The study examines the opinions of trainees regarding the impact of training and development programmes on the productivity of employees in the selected banks. To evaluate the impact of training and development programmes on productivity of banking sector, multiple regression analysis was employed in both log as well as log-linear forms. Also the impact of three sets of training i.e. objectives, methods and basics on level of satisfaction of respondents with the training was also examined through employing the regression analysis in the similar manner.

ObjectivesWe aim to assess the impact of temperature and relative humidity on the transmission of COVID-19 across communities after accounting for community-level factors such as demographics, socioeconomic status and human mobility status.DesignA retrospective cross-sectional regression analysis via the Fama-MacBeth procedure is adopted.SettingWe use the data for COVID-19 daily symptom-onset cases for 100 Chinese cities and COVID-19 daily confirmed cases for 1005 US counties.ParticipantsA total of 69 498 cases in China and 740 843 cases in the USA are used for calculating the effective reproductive numbers.Primary outcome measuresRegression analysis of the impact of temperature and relative humidity on the effective reproductive number (R value).ResultsStatistically significant negative correlations are found between temperature/relative humidity and the effective reproductive number (R value) in both China and the USA.ConclusionsHigher temperature and higher relative humidity potentially suppress the transmission of COVID-19. Specifically, an increase in temperature by 1°C is associated with a reduction in the R value of COVID-19 by 0.026 (95% CI (−0.0395 to −0.0125)) in China and by 0.020 (95% CI (−0.0311 to −0.0096)) in the USA; an increase in relative humidity by 1% is associated with a reduction in the R value by 0.0076 (95% CI (−0.0108 to −0.0045)) in China and by 0.0080 (95% CI (−0.0150 to −0.0010)) in the USA. Therefore, the potential impact of temperature/relative humidity on the effective reproductive number alone is not strong enough to stop the pandemic.

We empirically test whether B Corp certification affects the short- and medium-term growth rates of sustainable enterprises. These businesses are growing in popularity and prevalence but, due to their hybrid nature, often suffer from external credibility issues and competing internal logics. Because of the rigorous and time-involving audit procedure, B Corp certification potentially sends a credible signal about the sustainable nature of the enterprise to its stakeholders. In addition, the B Corp label could help to straighten out internal tensions and align the company towards its dual purpose. Hence, B Corp certification could contribute to company success. We observe 129 firms that were certified between 2013 and 2018 over a period between six years prior and five years post-certification. Using propensity score matching, we identify 129 non-certified matching companies. On this sample, we conduct a difference-in-differences panel regression analysis to investigate the effect of certification. Our dataset allows us to study how the effects of B Corp certification evolve over time, which was previously untested. Our study documents a positive effect of B Corp certification on turnover growth and also that this effect increases with the time since certification, implying that certification requires some time for its full effect to become apparent.
