We give a literature review of neuromarketing and the origins of its emergence as a new marketing research method. We attempted to establish a general descriptive summary of relevant literature that stresses the definition of neuromarketing as a new marketing discipline and retraces its origins and foundations since and before the advent of neuroeconomics, as the latter is considered to be a precursor. The purpose of this paper is to define what neuromarketing is from the point of view of academics and practitioners, how and when it started to chart its path into academia and the business world, by drawing attention to the ever first attempts to use uncommon neuroscience tools to assess consumer’s behavior. This paper draws a timeline of neuromarketing origins and a summary of the first attempts of consumer’s behavior observations, which relied on neural and physiological responses.

This article analyzed the concepts of «stimulation» and «motivation», which are necessary for effective personnel management in the organization, as they help to understand the behavior of employees in different situations. Literature review showed that today there is no clear definition of the terms «motivation» and «stimulation» among various authors. Moreover, many experts do not distinguish between them. Therefore, the purpose of the study is to examine different interpretation of the terms «motivation» and «stimulation» and to study the area of their interaction, because they are certainly interrelated. The research method is the analysis of existing definitions of the concepts «motivation» and «stimulation» by various specialists. According to the results of the analysis, the authors determined that stimulation and motivation are mutually dependent and complementary concepts that interact with each other, but remain different in terms of their meaning in their definitions.

The purpose of the article is to systematize the knowledge on sales strategy and answer the question of whether current socio-economic conditions in the form of progressive digitalization and evolution of the sales function induce to update the definition of sales strategy. Furthermore, the study aims to verify whether the COVID-19 pandemic forces companies to reformulate their sales strategy. A non-systematic literature review supplemented by qualitative research was used as the research method. The first part of the paper presents the theoretical backgrounds of the analysis based on the literature review. The second part presents the results of the own research, enriched by the data from existing studies. Then, the results of the conducted discussion are presented. The final part of the paper contains a summary and the author's definition of sales management, focusing on sales strategy and a potential direction for future research. According to the analysis, the greatest challenge in implementing the assumed sales strategy is currently the COVID-19 pandemic, which significantly affects consumer behavior and limits market activities. However, with widespread access to advanced technologies and a flexible approach to strategy, most of the surveyed companies can meet their financial targets despite the economic crisis caused by the pandemic. When defining a sales strategy, it is necessary to consider the aspect of progressing digitalization and the evolution of the sales function, closely integrated with the marketing function.

Purpose. The purpose of the study is to explore the challenges of defining what is commonly known as “ethnic tourism” or “sentimental tourism”. Provided here is a review, comparison, integration and systematization of the definitions of the phenomenon, its facets and characteristics. In particular, such variations as “nostalgic tourism”, “diaspora tourism”, “roots tourism”, “genealogy tourism” and others, are subjected tocomparative analysis. Based on the review, typology and hierarchy of the definitions are offered. Method. The study is based on a systemic literature review, and qualitative and frequency analysis of the definitions of the phenomenon. The literature search was not limited to publications by Polish authors, but included relevant literature on the topic in Ukrainian, Russian and English languages. The author is a native-speaker of Ukrainian and Russian, which is why the author presents his own translations of definitions in the article, while the translations from English language were consulted with other native-speakers. The systemic trends in the focus and content of definitions were analyzed with respect to temporal (changes over time) and geographical (regional differences) variation. Findings. The result is a division of the definitions, rankings based on their popularity, and a description of the trends in various locations and at different periods. Important nuanced differences in the definitions are pointed out to more precisely describe different facets of the phenomenon. Research limitations and conclusions. The study is mainly focused on the papers of Eastern European authors with reference to English-language literature. Practical implications. Sentimental tourism is a growing phenomenon. Due to the early fragmentation of literature, a wide range of definitions has been introduced leading to confusion and the improper use of terms. As a result, conduting searches, linking studies and analyzing the literature has become very difficult. The present study brings order to the field, thereby providing a solid foundation for integrating and systemizing the literature. A division of the definitions and a clear differentiation of their nuanced meanings will aid future researchers in more precisely defining the phenomena and consolidating the literature. Originality. Despite the existence of a large body of research on what is known as sentimental tourism, the present study is the first attempt to introduce clarity to the fragmented and conflicting definitions of the phenomenon. Type of paper. Integrative literature review involving conceptual and quantitative analysis.

As of 1980s, Turkey has been more active in the field of public relations thanks to the accelerating effects of globalization and formalization of public relations education. Female domination has long been the situation in the sector and this leads to the perception that public relations is a woman’s job. Since the literature review shows that there are few studies conducted in Turkey regarding the situation and the importance of women in the field of public relations is not emphasized enough, this study intends to make a current evaluation on the role and the place of Turkish women in the field of public relations. Therefore, female public relations experts and academics have been interviewed with the aim of detecting the place and importance of women in the field of public relations in Turkey. The data collected shows that the reason why there are more women than men in this field is the sexist point of view. Problems in the academic education and job definition of the profession result in the misperception of public relations in Turkey. It is seen that public relations which is associated with womanly behavior is not preferred by men as a profession. Furthermore, the fact that women work more as technicians whereas men work as executives in the sector and salaries are two issues that have come up throughout the study.

Purpose:The construct called Spirituality at Workplace (SAW) has now gained adulthood as it was conceived in the last decade of 20th century. The awareness and practice of the concept among the working world is found severely lagging the speed of scholars' research, discourses and conferences. The paper has three purposes: (i) Examine reasons for this lag through empirical research.(ii) Suggest the way forward so that construct is conceived in its true sense and start delivering the greater good for the society at large and beget sustainable success for the corporate world.(iii) Examine whether SAW is a leadership Competency. Methodology: Three sets of questionnaires were administered to 104 Indian executives across the industry. The first was aimed at gauging the awareness about the construct. The second one targeted to probe whether Spirituality at Workplace (SAW) is in practice without realizing that they are already practicing it ! A simple definition of SAW distilled from the extensive literature review was provided in the third questionnaire and then attempted to assess acceptability of the construct and also whether it is a desirable leadership competency. Comparison of the feedback from first and third questionnaire revealed that it is basically lack of awareness of correct definition of the construct among the corporate citizens which is responsible for the poor perceived value and misunderstanding of SAW. Many myths like relatedness with religion are also found responsible for camouflaging the publicity and virtue of the construct. It was also observed that spirituality has already made inroads into the world of modern work clandestinely. The way forward to propagate SAW is suggested on the basis of results of the survey, expert opinions and literature review. The paper also discusses how a “pyramid of purpose” can be juxtaposed against the pyramid of Maslow's need hierarchy to provide a clear sense of levels of purpose to the corporate citizens and thus leverage and spread SAW for sustainable success in business world.

Background and aimsSummarising quality improvement (QI) research through systematic literature review has great potential to improve patient care. However, heterogeneous terminology, poor definition of QI concepts and overlap with other scientific fields can make it hard to identify and extract data from relevant literature. This report examines the compromises and pragmatic decisions that undertaking literature review in the field of QI requires and the authors propose recommendations for literature review authors in similar fields.MethodsTwo authors (EJ and JF) provide a reflective account of their experiences of conducting a systematic literature review in the field of QI. They draw on wider literature to justify the decisions they made and propose recommendations to improve the literature review process. A third collaborator, (WC) co-created the paper challenging author’s EJ and JF views and perceptions of the problems and solutions of conducting a review of literature in QI.ResultsTwo main challenges were identified when conducting a review in QI. These were defining QI and selecting QI studies. Strategies to overcome these problems include: select a multi-disciplinary authorship team; review the literature to identify published QI search strategies, QI definitions and QI taxonomies; Contact experts in related fields to clarify whether a paper meets inclusion criteria; keep a reflective account of decision making; submit the protocol to a peer reviewed journal for publication.ConclusionsThe QI community should work together as a whole to create a scientific field with a shared vision of QI to enable accurate identification of QI literature. Our recommendations could be helpful for systematic reviewers wishing to evaluate complex interventions in both QI and related fields.
