This study examines the experiences of female teachers working in private schools in Islamabad, Pakistan. These schools were divided into two categories: elite schools and non- elite schools. This differentiation was made based on fee structure, location of schools and salaries offered to teachers. Thirty-six in-depth interviews were conducted, including 24 interviews from teachers and 12 from school principals. Additionally, the responses of 96 teachers were taken through a survey in the selected schools. The data reveals that female teachers in both elite and non-elite schools encountered numerous constraints. The major issues highlighted by the teachers included low wages, lack of support from administration, disrespectful behaviour from students and job dissatisfaction. The majority considered teaching as a temporary arrangement while they waited for better employment opportunities in other sectors. This study recommends that to rescue the profession of teaching, the state can play a role by safeguarding the rights of teachers. The focus should not be merely on privatization of the education sector but due accountability of private schools is needed not only in terms of quality of education provided, but also workplace ethics and resources provided to teachers.

Georgia implemented a nationwide, full scale school voucher program in 2005. The new voucher plan was designed with the intent to provide equitable distribution and efficient utilization of financial and human resources. By introducing the voucher scheme, the government hoped to promote competition among public as well as private schools to push them operate in a cost-effective way and consequently improve education quality. This study tries to identify the effect of increased competition on the quality of education as perceived by school principals and teachers in Georgia. More specifically, we study to identify if the voucher model, as a result of increased competition, has created an environment that is supportive to students in improving their academic performance. Our results suggest that school principals and teachers do not view competition as a force or stimulation towards better quality teaching and improved students’ academic achievement.

The present work seeks to analyze the results of the educational reform of the secondary school system in Argentina initiated by the Ley Federal de Educación in 1993. This article has chosen Greater Buenos Aires, the biggest conurbation in the country, as a "case study." The methodology used is based on quantitative and qualitative surveys administered to the top authorities of state and private schools in the area. We conclude that the reactions toward the reform are, in general, negative. Furthermore, there are no differences in attitudes between private and state schools. Both of them agree that the worst effect is the leveling down of the quality of education. In other words, the main cause of disagreement is mostly pedagogic.

the purpose of the article was to identify the nature of the impact of the pandemic on the quality of education at a university using distance learning and artificial intelligence. The research methodology was based on a complex of general scientific and special methods. The data obtained during the survey and in-depth interviews were summarized and analyzed in a focus group. Stable connections and tendencies in the change in the quality of teaching at the university are revealed. Traps for students are attributed to stable connections: lack of a valid system of control over the authorship of completed works; the possibility of unauthorized use of various electronic sources when responding; coronavirus quarantine leads to the erasure of students’ boundaries between study and life, personal space and social environment; an increase in students’ desire to have high grades in subjects with a decrease in interest in learning. Trends: increased workload on teachers and supporting (technical) personnel; growing dissatisfaction with distance learning; reduction of responsibility on the part of students for mastering knowledge in the course of distance learning.
