Improved Competency of School Principals Through Construction of Work Group

The development of school supervision competence through the construction of school supervisors in the activities of the school Principal Work Group (PWG) has been conducted. This research aims to find out: (1) The principal competency of the school principals after the construction of school supervisors in the PWG activities in Sangkuang Island, East Kutai District (2) to know the constraints of increasing competency of principal in Sangkuang Island, East Kutai Regency. This research is a qualitative study, conducted at the state Elementary school in Sangkuang Island, Sangkulirang Sub-district, East Kutai District consisting of 4 schools: (a)Elementary School 003 Sangkulirang; (b) Elementary School 006Sangkulirang, (c) Elementary School 007 Sangkulirang, and d)Elementary School 012 Sangkulirang. The research took place fromJanuary 2017 to July 2017. Data collection techniques throughinterviews, observations and documentation. Data were analyzedusing the Miles and Huberman analysis Model which is an interactivedata analysis consisting of three activities namely data reduction, datapresentation, and conclusion withdrawal. The results showed thatthrough the construction of school supervisors in the PWG activities,the school's supervision competence increased. The headmaster hasbeen able to make the supervision program properly, implementingsupervision with various techniques, whereas in the follow-up theprincipal has done it according to the needs. Construction of schoolsupervisors on PWG activities, making the atmosphere more relaxed,the principals motivated, discuss, brainstorm with supervisors andfellow school principals to solve the problems faced. Principalsdemonstrate a better work ethic and responsibility, unyielding toobstacles. In teaching and learning activities, they can direct teachersto innovate learning innovations. Obstacles are faced in the effort toimprove the performance of primary principal in Sangkuang IslandEast Kutai District is (a) The geographical location separated by thesea and the constraints, the weather caused the schedule of watchdogvisits is often delayed, (b) Teachers who are given additional duties asprincipals are partially not eligible to be the principal, seen from thepoint of competence or other requirements, this is done. Manyteachers who are not willing to become primary principals for remoteareas, (c) The school principal feels difficult to divide time because, inaddition to the task of managing the school, the school principal alsohas a teaching obligation as much as 6 hours of instruction.

This study aims to determine how the management of academic supervision at the Ash-Haabul Kahfi Lubuk Alung Integrated Islamic Elementary School in improving teachers competency and professionalism. The research approach was conducted qualitatively with descriptive methods. Data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study are: (1) In conducting academic supervision planning activities, the school principal had implemented it well. The school principal and teachers had compiled a one-year program design through the school meeting forum. (2) In the process of conducting academic supervision, the principal is considered to have no understanding of academic supervision, because it only focuses on teacher administration examination only (3) Follow-up academic supervision has not been maximized run by the principal as a supervisor, because only fostering teachers whose administration are incomplete. The lack of guidance for school principals related to the learning process, teacher skills in teaching, makes teachers not experience a significant increase in terms of competence and profession as a teacher.

This study aimed at determining the managerial implementation of school principals at SD Negeri 24 Pulau Rimau. This research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive research approach. The subject is the school principal at SDN 24 Pulau Rimau. The informants are the school principal and teacher. Data collection techniques were (1) observation; (2) interview; and (3) documentation. The collected data is examined for the validity of the data, using triangulation, with verification and checking of the adequacy of the references. The results of this study were the ability of the managerial implementation of principals at SD Negeri 24 Pulau Rimau was very good seen from planning, organizing, directing, and supervising.

Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah meningkatkan pemahaman Kepala Sekolah PAUD dalam pembuatan media pembelajaran yang menarik bagi siswa. Tema pengabdian yang dipilih adalah game edukatif sebagai media pembelajaran. Dari beberapa metode pengabdian maka dipilih metode pengabdian partisipatif. Kegiatan pengabdian berupa pembelajaran dilakukan pada tanggal 9 November 2019 dengan jumlah keseluruhan peserta 34 orang. Kegiatan pengabdian berupa pembelajaran dilakukan oleh tim pelaksana bersama dengan para Kepala Sekolah PAUD yang tergabung di Kelompok Kerja Kepala Sekolah (K3 PAUD) di Alalak Kabupaten Barito Kuala. Kegiatan dilakukan dengan tahapan dimulai dari tahap persiapan, dan tahap pelaksanaan yang mencakup pemaparan materi dan pembuatan game edukatif. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah bahwa pelaksanan Bimbingan Teknis berlangsung lancar. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilakukan oleh tim pelaksana telah berhasil mencapai tujuan yaitu para peserta bimbingan teknik di Alalak Kabupaten Barito Kuala tersebut mengalami peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan tentang pembuatan game edukatif sebagai media pembelajaran yang menarik bagi anak-anak PAUD. Para peserta Bimbingan Teknis terlihat antusias dalam mengikuti kegiatan pembuatan game edukatif dengan mampu membuat game edukatif mengenal buah dan angka.This service aims to increase the understanding of the Principal of PAUD in making learning media interesting for students. The chosen theme of service is educational games as learning media. Of the several methods of service, the method of participatory service chosen. Community service activities took place on November 9, 2019, with a total of 34 participants. Service activities in the form of learning are carried out by the implementing team and the Principals of PAUD Schools. They are members of the School Principal Work Group (K3 PAUD) in Alalak, Barito Kuala Regency. The activity is carried out with stages starting from the preparation stage and the implementation stage, including the presentation of material and making educational games. The results obtained are that the implementation of Technical Guidance takes place smoothly. This activity has succeeded in achieving the goal that the technical guidance participants in Alalak Barito Kuala Regency have increased knowledge and skills about making educational games as an exciting learning medium for PAUD children. The Technical Guidance participants seemed enthusiastic in participating in the activities of creating educational games by being able to make educational games to recognize fruit and numbers.

This study aims to determine how the implementation of academic supervision of class visits by school principals in order to improve the performance of teachers in SMP NW Jerua and can provide technical assistance and guidance to teachers to be able to improve the quality of performance in carrying out tasks and carrying out teaching and learning processes. This research is a qualitative study using descriptive methods. To describe this research, a measurement will be carried out on the implementation planning and evaluation of the academic supervision of class visits by the school principal in NW Jerua Middle School. For this reason, this research is intended to find out more about the data collection about the academic planning documents for class visits, the academic supervision documents for class visits, the academic supervision documents for class visits. The informants in this study were the principal and teachers at NW Jerua Middle School. Data collection techniques in this study using observation techniques, documentation studies, and interviews. Observations were made to obtain data and conditions of academic supervision by the principal's class visit to improve teacher performance in NW Jerua Middle School by direct observation. Documentation studies are conducted to view and obtain authentic data that can be used to match the same data using other techniques. Interview with the teacher as an informant to get information related to the academic supervision techniques of class visits. The flow of this research reveals academic supervision in the NW Jerua Middle School. The supervision management system is as follows: The headmaster conducts academic supervision supervision of the visit by discussing with the teacher first. Then conduct academic supervision of class visits by applying principles and preparing instruments. The final stage is the evaluation and academic follow-up of class visits.

The focus of this research is to study about the curriculum management at the Elementary School of Buin Batu that includes the curriculum planning, curriculum organization, curriculum implementation, and curriculum evaluation. It is a Case Study Research using a qualitative approach. Data obtained through in-depth interviews, observation and documentation with the research informants comprising the school principal, academic coordinator and curriculum coordinator. The data collected was analyzed through the process of data reduction, display, verification and conclusion drawing. The results of the research show that the Elementary School of Buin Batu has a curriculum planning that consists of Curriculum Mapping, Scope and Sequence, Program of Inquiry, Unit of Inquiry, and Unit Planner; a curriculum organization that includes Curriculum Structure, Teacher Assignment, Developing Transdisciplinary Program, Determining Unit of Inquiry for Each Year Level; a curriculum implementation that includes Teaching and Learning Experiences, Assessment and Reporting; and a curriculum evaluation that covers Unit Review and Subject Review. This research is a school action research conducted in 2 cycles. This study aims to determine the performance of teachers with the implementation of academic supervision of school principals. This research was conducted at SMA N 10 Pekanbaru. The subjects of this study were 4 subject teachers whose performance was still not optimal. The results of the research proved in the recapitulation of supervision of the first cycle to get an average value of 89.2, although the results of the study showed good, to look for a comparison then the research was still carried out in the second cycle. After conducting research in the second cycle, the results of the supervision assessment increased to 91.5. for the assessment of the performance of teachers of SMA N 10 in Cycles 1 and 2 an average of 89.5. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the implementation of supervision of the school principal can improve teachers performance in teaching and learning.

This research is to study the correlation between responsible leadership of school principals and discipline of PKn (Civics) teachers at Al-Ashar Elementary School Pinang Sub-district, Tangerang City. Although there is a lot of study about the correlation between leadership and discipline, this study focuses on responsible leadership as opposed to “ordinary” leadership. The study used a correlation method where responsible leadership of school principals was used as an independent variable and discipline of PKn (Civics) teachers as the dependent variable. Thirty out of 35 teachers in the population were used as a random sample. Hypothesis testing was conducted using product moment. The study found that there is a positive correlation between the responsible leadership of school principal and Civics teachers at Al-Ashar Elementary School Pinang Sub-district, Tangerang City.

ABSTRACTThe importance of the principal's role in managing and developing the quality of education in the education unit, a school if managed with good school management will certainly make the school a quality school and has a good output. This research aims to 1. To Know the Role of School Principals in Empowering SD IT AL IMAN Bojonggede teachers for the creation of a quality learning process, 2. To find out the Role of School Principals in establishing cooperation with the community / SD IT AL IMAN Bojonggede committees 3. To find out the Role of the Principal Schools in applying the principles of SBM in SD IT AL IMAN Bojonggede, 4. To find out the role of the School Principal in monitoring and evaluating SBM in SD IT AL IMAN Bojonggede, this study is descriptive qualitative, object studied by foundations, principals, teachers, staff and committee. The method of data collection is observation, interviews, and documents. The interactive data analysis model starts with data collection, data presentation, reduction and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicate that 1. There is an effort from the School Principal in empowering and increasing the competence of SD IT AL IMAN Bojonggede teachers by holding seminars, training in motivational training by bringing in resource persons, following teachers in MGMP activities, 2. There is good collaboration between schools and community / commitment with the participation of the Community in school management and social activities. 3. In his leadership the school principals apply the principles of school-based management including independence of school staff in managing schools in various aspects, there is justice in school management, among which the headmaster is fair in deciding suatau permaslahan, being fair placement and assignment of teachers and staff, openness, the leadership of the school is open to all parties, including foundations, teachers / staff and the committee both in terms of administration and finance. 4. there is monitoring and supervision conducted by school principals in the application of school-based management among school program monitoring, administrative monitoring, learning monitoring, teacher and staff disciplinary monitoring.Keywords: Leadership, Principal. This research article reports on instructional leadership as a controlling function in secondary schools. All the 41 secondary schools in Rangwe Sub County were included in the study and the targeted respondents were teachers and principals. A purposive sampling method was used to select the respondents from each school. A principal self-rating questionnaire, a teacher perception questionnaire, and a document analysis checklist were used for data collection. The collected data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent samples T-test, and regression analysis test. The study found that school principals engaged their deputies, heads of department, and directors of studies to conduct their day-to-day instructions in their schools. It was also revealed that classroom visits and observation of teaching and learning significantly influence student learning outcomes in secondary schools. The study concluded that involving the expertise of immediate juniors in day-to-day instructions is an effective way of implementing instructional leadership roles of the school principals in secondary schools. The study, therefore, advocates for the school principal becoming the overall instructional supervisor and instructional improvement catalyst.
