Given the fact that education represent a (sub) system of society, the digitalization of society consequently results in the digitalization of education as well. Starting from the premise that the pedagogical implications of digitalization are numerous and that there are significant differences at different levels of education, the aim of the paper is to consider the pedagogical implications of digitalization when it comes to higher education. The objective is concretized within the following tasks: (a) the importance of researching the relationship between education and society; (b) presenting the differences between digital and analogue generation with implications for education, (c) pointing out to the opportunities and challenges of digitalisation within higher education. In conclusion, it is pointed out that the digitalization of education is a controversial topic with numerous implications that are significantly conditioned by the level of education to which they relate. Also, polarization in attitudes about digitalization as an exclusively positive or negative phenomenon in the educational process represents two extremes in approaches, and the potential solution lies in finding a balance.

The article examines actual problems of the strategy of the educational process in the aspect of humanization of education, which should be based on genuine self-regulation and active self-determination of the student's personality. Inthecontextof the humanistic paradigm of the educational system, an individual approach to students, encouraging the disclosure of personal potential and creative development, the possibility of emotional contact with students are investigated. The purpose of the article is to study the relationship between the innovative readiness of higher education teachers and emotional intelligence. The methodological basis of the research are the works of such researchers in the field of a personality-centered approach to education as K. Rogers, I.V. Abakumova, I.S. Yakimanskaya, V.V. Serikov, E.V. Bondarevskaya, M.A., Andreev V.I. and others, as well as conceptual provisions in the field of emotional intelligence of scientists (J. Meyer, P. Salovey and D. Caruso R. Bar-On and D. Goleman N. Hall). We have chosen as research methods: diagnostics of "emotional intelligence" (N.Hall); questionnaire to identify the level of innovative readiness for personality-centered interaction of university teachers (author's methodology). As a result of the conducted empirical research, the hypothesis put forward by us about the presence of a positive correlation between emotional intelligence and the innovative indicator of the ability for person-centered interaction of higher school teachers was confirmed.

This paper presents, for further discussion, a review of the scientific literature produced internationally on the use of Social Network Sites (SNS) in different levels of education and settings. A total of 62 articles published in international scientific journals with peer review have been analysed. The main objective of this paper is to discuss the most recurrent lines of research since the emergence of these tools in education. The level of education in which research is carried out is also analysed, as well as the paradigms and methods used for data collection. The analysis leads to the conclusion that most of the studies analysed have been carried out in higher education, from a quantitative paradigm, focusing on the use of SNS as educational tools. This article shows that research into SNS in education is at an early stage of development, and it demonstrates the need to widen lines of research on SNS in media education to include as yet unexplored dimensions.

The paper hypothesizes that the quality of education in the country is decreasing, the existing education management system is not effective, and contributes to a decrease in the quality of education. To assess the hypotheses, the profitability of human capital formed in education systems according to Rosstat data on the amount of remuneration of workers with different levels of education was considered. It was found that in 2009-2013, an increase in the level of education ensured an increase in the level of remuneration - receiving a bonus for the years of study, but during this period the premium over the years of study steadily decreased. In 2015-2019, the premium for obtaining all types of education, except for higher education, was completely lost. The higher education award has dropped significantly. These phenomena indicate a drop in the quality of education. They are due to the low level of funding for education and the archaic command and control system of education management, based on the administrative and control style of management, the instruments of which are orders, binding standards and control.

Michael Gibbons (2005) has spoken about the need to re-imagine the relationship between higher education and society and he calls for the emergence of a ‘new social contract’. In particular he highlights three elements of this new form of engagement: contextualization, boundary objects, and transaction spaces or boundary zones. It is here that my paper is located – in the conceptualization of the ‘boundary zone’ at the nexus of higher education and society, with a focus on service learning as practice. In the literature on higher education there appears to be little evidence describing ways of conceptualizing and understanding the boundary zone itself. Most of the service learning research literature for instance, looks either at the university side of the relationship or at the impact on the community (and even then only in very few cases). In order to better understand the ‘push and pull’ of service learning, we need to better understand better what happens in the transaction/boundary zone in the first instance. In order to do this, we need to develop conceptual tools to illuminate the complex practices that occur at this nexus. Drawing on situated learning, post Vygotskian theory and activity theory in particular, I develop a framework for service learning conceived as ‘boundary work’. This framework illuminates inherent contradictions in these trans-boundary practices, and the argument is therefore that unless we understand these practices better and in more nuanced ways, we are in no position to improve them and consequently our understandings of this form of educational practice remain unaltered. Finally, by raising a number of questions about boundary practices at the end of the paper, I provide some ways of taking this conceptualization project further.

Since its emergence as a complicated and controversial topic in higher education, trigger warnings have spread beyond academia into popular culture. To be “triggered” has entered the vernacular, and usually with negative connotations about the sensibilities of the one being triggered. Emily Knox’s timely book provides multiple viewpoints on trigger warnings within the context of how trauma and its aftereffects impact the educational process, while also exploring the potentially negative impact of trigger warnings on intellectual freedom. Through a combination of theoretical essays, historical examinations, and case studies, this collection of essays provides a variety of perspectives that, in combination, will challenge any reader’s preconceptions about the topic.

The qualifications system reform in Serbia began in 2001, influenced primarily by the establishment of the European Higher Education Area, which created the preconditions for the development of a general framework for higher education qualifications. The reform of the existing qualifications system in Serbia required a response to the needs of the labor market, which was developing under new socio-economic circumstances. Since the beginning of the process, the development of a new system of qualifications has been implemented through two separate activities - the development of qualifications frameworks for secondary and higher education which remained non-harmonized. Although the development of individual qualifications frameworks for different levels of education is necessary for the development of a national qualifications framework, we argue that the separate frameworks remain incoherent to this day, that they do not precisely define the qualifications required to move from one level of education to another, when it comes to sociology as a subject, and that this situation affects the profiling of future sociologists. In this paper, we intend to problematize such an approach to the development of a general qualifications framework through the analysis of the contents of a domestic normative framework related to the general learning outcomes of teaching sociology at secondary and tertiary levels of education.
