The fern is one of the plants that is easily found in Indonesia and it has a high diversity and distribution. Ferns are among the simplest vascular plants and are classified into sporous cormophytes which already have transport vessels. The purpose of this research was to identify and inventory the types of ferns found in Mount Gede Pangrango National Park. The research method used was descriptive with path tracking techniques and observations on the morphology of the found ferns. The research results obtained that 29 species of ferns were found in the observations made, namely Ophioglosum reticulatum L., Selaginella caudata (Desv.) Spring, Davallia denticulata (Burm.) Mett. & Kuhn, Adiantum capillus-veneris L., Asplenium adiantum-nigrum L., Dryopteris sparsa (Ham.) Kuntze, Angiopteris evecta (G.Forst.) Hoffm., Dipteris conjugata Reinw., Pleopeltis heterocarpa Bedd., Phegopteris connectilis (Michx .) Watt, Asplenium nidus L., Polystichum acultatum Roth, Tectaria crenata Cav., Pityrogramma calomelanos (L.) Link, Pteris biaurita L., Nephrolepis biserrata (Sw.) Schott, Microsorum scolopendria (Burm.fil.) Copel., Cyathea contaminans (Wall. Ex Hook.) Copel., Davallia pentaphyla Blume, Dicksonia blumei (Kunze) T. Moore, Davallia trichomanoides Blume, Ctenitis vilis (Kunze) Ching, Thelypteris rudis (Kunze) Proctor, Adiantum hispidulum Sw., Bolbitis quoyana (Gaud.) Ching, Selaginella ornata (Hook & Grev.) Spring, Drynaria pleuridioides Presl, Gleichenia linearis (Burm.) CBCl., and Psilotum nudum (L.) P. Beauv. This research concludes that each fern plant has its characteristics that can be used as a basis for observing and identifying the types of ferns and making an inventory.

Dr. Min Chuah-Petiot, together with staff of Missouri Botanical GardenAntananarivo station, visited in 2002 the Zahamena National Park in the northeastern part of central Madagascar. They collected epiphyllous liverworts, which are deposited in TAN and a set of small duplicates were sent to Tamás Pócs for identification, which are now kept in EGR in the form of microslides. The Zahamena National Park is notorious for its high diversity of animals and vascular plants, including several endemics. But hitherto, few liverworts were collected there. This enumeration contains 28 species. None of them is new to the island, but three were known before only from their type locality (Allorgella rabenorii Tixier, Cololejeunea plagiochiliana Tixier, Cololejeunea subinflata Tixier) and eight are endemics of Madagascar or the Indian Ocean islands.

Ngoc Linh mountain range with Ngoc Linh peak of 2598m.a.s.l is an important part of forest ecosystems in Central – Highlands, Vietnam. Located on the complex terrain with stable and long-term geological components, the plant communities here contain the diversity and originality of the high mountains and contiguous areas between Central and Central Highlands Vietnam. The study area covers 65571 hectares, of which Ngoc Linh Nature Reserve covers about 40500 hectares, spread over medium and high mountain terrain. Strongly divided terrain has created the richness, diversity, and originality of ecosystems, especially the structure of natural vegetation. The article presents characteristics and differentiation of forest plantations in Ngoc Linh mountain area; study diversity, and conservation value of regional plant diversity resources; analyzing the characteristics and relationships of plants with geographical factors, especially the rules of elevation, slope, terrain direction, soil and drainage capacity of forest land. Comparison of similarities and differences with some other areas of the Central Highlands, especially the communities with the participation of coniferous plants. To implement the scientific content, various methods have been used. Among them are the main methods: Mapping method and Geographic Information Systems, Field survey methods and Phytogeography (Plant Geography) methods. The study results recorded 1128 species of vascular plants, belong to 627 genera, 175 families, 59 orders, 10 classes, 6 divisions. The flora of Ngoc Linh mountainous area fully converges the vascular plants of the plants in Vietnam, in which the species mainly focus on Magnoliophyta. This is the most diverse division with a total of 145 families, 571 genera and 1032 species, accounting for 82,39 % of families, 91,07 % of genera, and 91,48 % of species. The comparison results show that the proportion between sectors in the plants of Ngoc Linh and the plants of Vietnam has the same structure, with quite similar proportions of dominant species group. Accordingly, the absolute advantage of the Magnoliophyta is from 91.48 % and 92.62 % respectively. 80 rare and precious species have been identified in the IUCN Red List and Vietnam’s Red Data Book 2007. There are 189 endemic species of 135 genera of 66 families. In which there are 107 endemic species of Central Vietnam, the rest belong to Vietnam endemic. Some endemic species with high conservation significance is: Panax vietnamense, P. dalatensis, Quercus langbianensis. The rules of distribution according to elevation are shown in the structure of plant communities through species composition and canopy structure of the forest. Accordingly, plant communities have a high diversity with complex structures, including 3–4 layers. At 900 m.a.s.l elevation, in mixed forests, broadleaf trees form multi-dominant and diverse species. From 1000–1500 m.a.s.l, on the mountainside terrain, the dominant vegetation with P. kesiya in the emergent layer. High diversity in forest structure clearly manifests at 2000–2300 m.a.s.l. Plants are strongly differentiated; some places are multi-dominant, and some places are dominant with P. dalatensis. The most diversity of plants is concentrated at an elevation of 2000–2300 m.a.s.l and the number of the most canopy spread from 1500–2000 m.a.s.l. Gymnosperms, especially P. kesiya and P. dalatensis, participate in single dominant and codominance roles in mixed forest communities. There are differences in the distribution of major conifer species forming plant communities in Ngoc Linh mountain range compared to Chu Yang Sin National Park and Bidoup – Nui Ba National Park in Central and South – Central Highlands. Accordingly, in Ngoc Linh, P. dalatensis has a wider distribution area, higher dominance with a clear role in the formation of plant communities at elevations above 2000 m.a.s.l.

The primary overall objective of inventorying the macrofungi growing in and around Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks was partially achieved with the published checklist (McKnight 1982) and additions from the 1982 Research Center Annual Report (McKnight, Harper, & McKnight 1984). The intensive collecting of the 1982 fruiting season including a 12-week phenological study at 11 selected sites left many species unidentified and numerous others observed but not collected, or with inadequately annotated collections made. Litter and soil moisture data for the 11 study stands are also given in the 1982 annual report cited above, as well as data on 15 overstory and understory vegetation and soil parameters. Field studies in the Parks during the summer of 1983 concentrated on (1) identification of chlorophyllous and vascular plants at the 11 sites selected for concentrated study in 1982; (2) quantitative estimates of chlorophyllous plant cover and height; (3) estimates of site quality; (4) collections of composite soil samples; and (5) additional records of macrofungi for the Parks with supporting data in the form of photographs, drawings, and annotations.

The objective of this article was to study the effect of washing edamame using ozonated water to reduce residual chlorine contained in edamame through a continuous washing process. Chlorine residue in edamame was caused by the use of fertilizers and pesticides that contain chlorine compounds. The research method used was descriptive explanatory research consist of two treatment levels of ozonation time (0, 10, and 15 minutes) and ozone contact time (0, 12, 18, and 24 minutes) which were repeated twice. The residual chlorine and pesticide concentrations were calculated using the titration method. Based on research results, ozone can reduce chlorine in edamame. The lowest detected chlorine was in edamame which had been washed using ozone water with an ozonation time of 15 minutes with the amount of chlorine reduced by 56%. The longer the contact time, the greater the amount of reduced chlorine and the lower the concentration of ozone remaining in the washing water. Based on the research results, a brief conclusion that can be explained was ozone could reduce chlorine in edamame caused by fertilizer and disinfectant overuse until 50%.
