This research aims to find out how the implementation of democratic values ​​in the Intra-School Student Organization (OSIS) in Darus Syifa Vocational School, Cilegon City, especially in the organizational decision-making process carried out by the student council administrators. This study uses a qualitative approach that was developed through a descriptive analysis method. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, documentation studies and literature studies. Based on the results of research in the field it can be explained that the decision-making process that can be implemented in the Student Council includes certain majority agreements, procedures with minority group agreements and the approval of certain minority groups. These three elements are aspects contained in the decision making process where a decision is considered valid if approved by many people. This can be seen in the deliberations carried out by the Student Council in the Darus Syifa Vocational School in Cilegon, Banten where the decisions made were based on the majority of votes. Walaw even in reality there are still many that need to be increased again such as the level of participation of the Student Council administrators in expressing their opinions so that the deliberation process is more active and not passive to get the best solution from the problem.

The activities of promotion can be varied nowadays as the Internet technology has been developed to get information in real time. Digital promotion, such as from website and social media, is common to use to promote product and services, such as food and beverages in the restaurant including the services. The restaurant industry in Ubud has been growing since the start of the tourism in Ubud, Bali. Moreover, the promotion activities also need to be enhanced due to development of the technology. This research discussed further the analysis of promotion and the influence of social media to influence the decision-making process of the customers to eat food in Ubud. The aim of this research was to investigate the marketing trend in promoting restaurant in Ubud. Besides, the author aimed to find the relation between the use of social media for the restaurant to influence the decision-making process of the customers to find food in Ubud. Since Ubud is a touristic area in Bali, Indonesia, the competition of the restaurant industry should have the attention of the restaurants’ owners and managers. This research used descriptive analysis method to answer the research questions and collecting both secondary and primary data through literature review, observation, interview, and questionnaires. Based on our research, we found that digital promotion, such as social media marketing through social networks (Instagram, Facebook, Tripadvisor, and Website) could enhance the number of the customers in restaurants in Ubud.

Leadership Dynamics of CV. Dwi Jaya’s Director in Sanggalangit Village, Sub- District of Gerokgak, Buleleng Regency The success of a company is influenced by the success of its employees. Employee success is influenced by the leadership dynamics of the director. CV Dwi Jayaagribusiness company is one of the companies engaged in the sale of fish seeds in the Sanggalangit Village of Gerokgak Sub-District, Buleleng Regency. The purpose of this research is to determine the level of leadership dynamics of the director and to investigate the levels of the three elements of leadership dynamics of directors in the company of cultivation and sale of fish seeds in CV Dwi Jaya. Descriptive analysis method was used to answer the purpose of the research. Effective human relations, decision-making process and control in leadership are the three variables in leadership dynamics that become the reference in this research.The result of descriptive analysis of leadership dynamics of director of CV Dwi Jaya is classified into a very good category with achievement score of 4.41. This can be seen from the three variables of leadership dynamics. Effective human relationship is categorized as very good with 4.45 achievement score, decision making process is very good with the score of 4.34 and leadership control is quite good with 4.41 score.

This research aims to determine the consumers’ characteristics, the stages of decision making, and consumers satisfaction on buying ABMJ grilled chicken through Gojek e-commerce in Bandar Lampung.  The location was determined purposively, in which samples were 65 people.  The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis method, Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI), and Importance Performance Analysis (IPA).  The research showed that the consumers who bought ABMJ through Gofood were mainly single women around 19-24 years old, had bachelor degree, and had monthly income around IDR2,600,000.00-IDR3,500,000.00.  The consumer's decision making process was conducted through the introduction of needs, information search, alternative evaluation, purchase decision, and post-purchase evaluation.  Ease of purchase encouraged consumers to make transaction through Gofood and consumed ABMJ grilled chicken for their meals.  Consumers acquired the resources and information by their friends who had consumed ABMJ grilled chicken.  Price and advertisement in Gofood feature was highly considered by consumers.  The consumers made purchases depending on the circumstances, so there was no planning before and more than three purchases made in the last three months. Consumers were satisfied and would still buy even if the price of the ABMJ grilled chicken increases.  The value of CSI was 79.22 percent; it showed that the customers had been completely satisfied.  Based on the IPA analysis, customers valued that information clarity, photographic clarity, delivery time, and the safety of maintaining confidentiality of consumer’s identity should be improved.Key words: CSI, IPA, purchasing decision, satisfaction

Background: Therapeutic research in multiple sclerosis (MS) has focused on the development of treatments with little investigation regarding the possibility of discontinuation of disease-modifying therapies (DMTs). Objective: To understand the opinion of individuals with MS concerning stopping DMTs and the factors that influence the decision-making process. Methods: A mixed method approach was used starting with three focus groups from which a survey was developed. This survey was sent to 1000 participants in the North American Research Committee on Multiple Sclerosis registry who met inclusion criteria (age ⩾45 years; on most recent DMT for ⩾5 years). Descriptive analysis and structural equation modeling were used. Results: Of 1000 participants receiving the survey, 377 provided complete responses and met inclusion criteria. Only 11.9% of participants reported that if their disease was considered stable, they would consider coming off medications. A high level of external locus of control in influential others such as physicians significantly decreased the likelihood of considering discontinuation. Conclusions: Most individuals with MS report being unlikely to consider stopping MS therapy if their disease was considered “non-active.” As the results of studies concerning DMT discontinuation are obtained, information from providers will be an important part of individuals’ decision-making process.

Drivers of merging vehicles decide when to merge by considering surrounding vehicles in adjacent lanes in their deliberation process. Conflicts between drivers of the subject vehicles (i.e., merging vehicles) in an auxiliary lane and lag vehicles in the adjacent lane are typical near freeway on-ramps. This paper models a decision-making process for merging maneuvers that uses a game theoretical approach. The proposed model is based on the noncooperative decision making of two players, that is, drivers of the subject and lag vehicles, without consideration of advanced communication technologies. In the decision-making process, the drivers of the subject vehicles elect to accept gaps, and drivers of lag vehicles either yield or block the action of the subject vehicle. Corresponding payoff functions for two players were formulated to describe their respective maneuvers. To estimate model parameters, a bi-level optimization approach was used. The next generation simulation data set was used for model calibration and validation. The data set defined the moment the game started and was modeled as a continuous sequence of games until a decision is made. The defined merging decision-making model was then validated with an independent data set. The validation results reveal that the proposed model provides considerable prediction accuracy with correct predictions 84% of the time.

Purpose To overcome the shortcomings of diversity training programs, the purpose of this paper is to conceptualize an organizational diversity-learning framework, which features an organizational intervention for employees’ joint decision-making process with other employees from different statuses, functions, and identities. Borrowing key principles from the diversity learning (Rainey and Kolb, 1995); integration and learning perspective (Ely and Thomas, 2001; Thomas and Ely, 1996), and the key practices informed by deliberative democratic theories (Thompson, 2008), the authors develop a new organizational diversity learning framework for behavioral, attitudinal, and cognitive learning at workplaces. They conclude with directions for future research. Design/methodology/approach This paper first presents an overview of key shortcomings of diversity training programs in relation to their group composition, design, content and evaluation. Second, it borrows the key principles of diversity learning (Rainey and Kolb, 1995); integration and learning perspectives (Ely and Thomas, 2001; Thomas and Ely, 1996), and the key practices informed by deliberative democratic theories (Thompson, 2008) to delineate the organizational diversity learning framework. Third, it presents a table of the approach contrasted with the shortcomings of diversity training programs and discusses practical and theoretical contributions, along with directions for future research. Findings This paper conceptualizes an organizational diversity-learning framework, which features an organizational intervention for employees’ joint decision-making process with other employees from different statuses, functions, and identities. Research limitations/implications The organizational diversity learning framework developed in this paper provides an inclusive diversity learning paradigm in which diversity learning rests in the experience of the learner. As stated by experiential learning theory, this framework encourages workers to heuristically learn about diverse perspectives in a psychologically safe environment, to reflect on different perspectives, and to create a new awareness about learning from others. As the participants learn to apply new repertoires for interacting with others in their daily work interactions (e.g. listening to different perspectives shared by unfamiliar social group members), it proposes that their behaviors may create a ripple effect, changing other colleagues’ attitudes, behaviors, and thinking patterns on working with diverse coworkers. Practical implications This paper provides detailed instructions for practitioners to facilitate diversity learning. It highlights a few key practical implications. First, the framework provides a method of organization-wide diversity learning through intersecting networks within the workplace, which is designed to reduce the elitist organizational decision making that mainly occurs at the upper echelon. Second, unlike other stand-alone diversity initiatives, the framework is embedded in the organizational decision-making process, which makes employees’ learning applicable to core organizational activities, contributing to both employees’ diversity learning and organizational growth. Third, the framework provides a preliminary model for transferring employees’ diversity learning in daily work operations, nurturing their behavioral learning to interact with different social groups more frequently at work and inclusive of their colleagues’ perspectives, feelings, and attitudes. Social implications Workforces across nations are becoming increasingly diverse, and, simultaneously, the gap and tension between demographic representation in the upper and lower echelons is widening. By joining with other scholars who have advocated for the need to move beyond diversity training programs, the authors developed the organizational diversity learning framework for meaningful co-participation of employees with different statuses, functions, and identities. By inviting minority perspectives into the organizational decision-making process, top managers can explicitly send a message to minority groups that their perspectives matter and that their contributions are highly valued by the organization. Originality/value There has not been a conceptual paper that delineates the diversity inclusive decision-making process within a workplace. The authors established the organizational diversity learning framework based on the diversity learning, organizational diversity integration and learning perspectives, and deliberative democracy practices. The proposed framework guides organizations in structural interventions to educate employees on how to learn from multiple perspectives for better organizational decision making.

The main purpose of this study was to analyse the opinions of farmers in the province of Almería concerning the state of the fruit and vegetable sector, to learn about the main considerations in their decision-making processes when marketing their products and their assessment of the image of companies and cooperatives and to analyse the social structure of this collective. To that end, the analysis was conducted on three levels: a descriptive analysis on two levels – a quantitative analysis of the socio-demographic, socio-economic and marketing characteristics of farmers in the province of Almería and a qualitative analysis based on the opinions of farmers and a group of experts in the sector; and an explanatory analysis, based on a binary logistic regression model, to show how decision-making occurs in the marketing dialectic, whether it either be at the source (auction) or the end-point (cooperative). The conclusion is that the marketing variables that are most tied to context – such as price, timeframe or certification – better explain the decision-making process of farmers in the province of Almería when marketing their products, both for cooperative members and for those who sell their products in alhóndigas (traditional auction houses).

The study deals with the issue of career development of Czech emerging adults and in this context, it draws attention to research marginalisation of secondary vocational schools students. It focuses on the analysis of factors resulting from the type of study which can contribute to the facilitation of the career decision-making process. The research goal was to determine the role of the type of the study and work experience in the career decision-making process of Czech emerging adults. 194 university students and 116 secondary vocational school students between the ages of 18 and 21 responded to the questionnaires of vocational identity and questionnaires investigating awareness of self-efficacy in career decision-making. Linear regression showed that students’ work experience influences the strength of their vocational identity and that career relevance of this work experience is related to the level of selfefficacy in career decision-making. The type of study didn’t prove to be an important factor. The study results highlight the role of work experience in the process of career decision-making. Due to the inclusion of a specific research group—secondary vocational school students—it also enriches the knowledge of the career identity development in the period of emerging adulthood in the Czech Republic. In the conclusion practical implications, limits of this study and suggestions for the further research are discussed.
