Purpose: Banking in Nepal is under the process of being systematized. Foreign aid is believed as key component for development in Nepal. This study aims to assess the impact, contribution and relationship of size, loans and deposit, inflation and capital on the profitability of the banks. Design/Methodology/Approach: Secondary data from 2013 to 2019 from seven commercial banks along with the survey as primary data were collected. The correlation and regression along with ratio analysis have been used to assure a contributory association among return on assets (ROA), return on equity (ROE) and net interest margin (NIM). Findings/Result: The size of banks is in increasing trend. The decreasing trend of standard deviation showed that the size of Nepalese commercial banks has lower variation in the use of total assets as the year increases. There is a negative relation between ROA and ROE with loan ratio, deposit ratio and capital ratio, while there is positive relation with bank size and inflation. However, in case of NIM, bank size, loan ratio, deposit ratio and inflation exhibit a positive relation while the capital ratio shows the negative relationship with NIM. Majority of the respondents feel that the publication of financial reports is one of the major influencing factors of bank profitability. Originality/Value: It is an empirical research to signify the contribution of Bank Size, Loan Ration, Deposit Ratio, Capital Ratio and Inflation as determinants of Profitability. Paper Type: Analytical Business Research.

The main aim of this seminar paper is to investigate the impact of internal audit on financial performance of money deposit banks in Nigeria. The population of this study was 22 commercial license banks in Nigeria in which 16 money deposit banks were sampled using judgmental sampling technique and hypergeometric formula. Primary data with respect to questionnaires were used to collect data. 15 questionnaires were distributed to each sampled bank but in all the 360 questionnaires distributed, 334 questionnaires were correctly retrieved and found usable. The research tools used were Ordinary Linear Regression (OLS) with correlation, Adjusted R Square and Standard Error using IBM SPSS Statistics 20 software. The result(r=28.9%) showed that there was a relationship between internal audit and the profitability of money deposit banks in Nigeria. Also, internal audit reporting channels have a positive effect (r=25.5%) on financial performance of money deposit banks in Nigeria. The study concluded that there was a positive relationship between internal audit and the financial performance of money deposit banks in Nigeria. Likewise, internal audit reporting channels have an effect on financial performance of banks in Nigeria. The study recommended that money deposit banks in Nigeria should strengthen their internal audit and their internal auditing reporting channels as they were both important to their financial performance.

Following the growing concerns on the inconsistent findings in previous research and drawing on the social exchange and networking theories, this study re-examined the impact of supply chain integration (SCI) on business performance (i.e. value creation and financial performance). The study argues that the impact of SCI on financial performance is through value creation and is depended upon longevity of product life cycle. Using primary data from 79 firms in Ghana, the study finds that value creation is a short-run consequence of SCI while financial performance is a long-run outcome of SCI. Additionally, results show that the financial performance outcome of SCI is experienced more from integrative efforts than from the value creation outcome. Results further indicate that firms whose products stay relatively shorter on the market are more likely to experience lower positive impact of SCI on value creation, and thus firms’ ability to become proactive, monitor, and collect market information on product performance throughout its life cycle is key for coming out with strategies that will enable them maximize product’s life span so as to experience greater benefits that come with pursuing integration with other channel members.

Short-term debt is regarded as an important source of financing for Small and Medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This is because it can be easily accessed and useful during times of emergent working capital shortage. However, short-term debt is the least researched among the components of capital structure, which explains why its contribution to the financial performance of small and medium-sized businesses still lacks empirical validation especially in the Ugandan context. This paper sought to determine the effect of short-term debt on financial performance of Small and Medium Enterprises in Uganda. The study adopted a descriptive cross-sectional research design to collect and analyse the data. Stratified random sampling technique was used to select SMEs while purposive sampling technique was used to select one key respondent from each of the sampled 453 SMEs in Uganda. Primary data was collected using survey questionnaire. Data was analysed using descriptive statistics and simple linear regression analysis. The findings indicted that short-term debt had a negative and significant effect on financial performance of SMEs as measured by return on assets. The study provides empirical evidence to support the propositions in the extant literature that short-term debt significantly hampers financial performance of SMEs. The study recommends that SMEs should adopt low cost operation procedures to improve profitability. This would lead to accumulated profits that can be used for investment purposes as a means of driving growth among the SMEs without resorting to borrowing. This paper suggests that further research should be conducted to establish the justification for the negative and significant effect of short-term debt on financial performance using qualitative approaches.

In recent years, substantial attention has been given to the impact of Financial Participation on Financial Performance. However, there is a lack of research of the impact of Financial Performance on Financial Participation and the mediating role of Fnancial Participation between Financial Performance, Employee Recruitment and Employee Retention. In this paper, Financial Performance, Financial Participation, Employee Recruitment and Employee Retention is examined, including two types of financial participation; Employee Stock Options and Profit Sharing. The purpose of this research was to understand the role of financial participation in attracting individuals and retaining them. Non-probability-based convenience sampling technique was used in this study. The technique was used mainly due to ease of access of respondents, geographical proximity and cost-effectiveness (Etikan et al. 2016). Structural Equation Modelling was applied on the data analysis using Partial Least Squares method on SMART-PLS Software. Drawing on the data collected from 211 respondents from various national and multinational companies in the FMCG Sector of Karachi, Pakistan. The results indicated that Financial Participation has important interaction effects with Financial Performance, Employee Recruitment and Employee Retention. It is also found that indirect effect of Financial Participation has a strong mediating relationship with Employee Retention as compared to Employee Recruitment. The findings suggest that by incorporating financial participation by employees, HR can effectively recruit and retain better individuals. Also, ESOPs are a better form of attracting and retaining better employees. Keywords: Employee Stock Ownership, Financial Participation, Profit Sharing, Financial Performance, Employee Recruitment, Employee Retention.
