The idea of this study is to examine the role of educational platforms that face the integration of education remotely within the educational process in a crisis (the Coronavirus pandemic) and the main challenges and difficulties of using in general. The reality of remote education is still under construction. The study also recommended that it be necessary to identify the difficulties and challenges of remote education for educational institutions to integrate distance education into their plans according to a clear and predetermined vision.

The aim of the article is to show the sociological elements in the education process that are present in Korczak’s pedagogy, both in its scientific form as well as in his fiction aimed directly at children. Therefore, society with its educational institutions (family, school, boarding school) is recognized in this pedagogy as an important sphere of symbolic references and educational influences. The key role of society (as the most important educational institution) in shaping pupils is present in commonly known works on the sociology of upbringing (including Florian Znaniecki or Józef Chałasiński), while sociological threads in Korczak’s pedagogy have not been a popular topic of separate analysis so far, apart from one monograph devoted to the subject. Therefore, this topic requires in-depth analyses and afterthought. Janusz Korczak emphasizes the role of society in a child’s life, preparing them primarily for participation in social relations, through diverse forms of group life at school, whose most important achievement is the institution of student self-government. It is thus a bridge between student-oriented education and the traditional pedagogical message, involving the transmission of the requirements of specific social roles.

Social sustainability is a dimension of sustainability that has received little attention. Our aims in this article are to create a definition of social sustainability based on a comprehensive literature study, and to discuss the implementation of the concept in higher education settings at theoretical and practical levels. We also aim to answer the question of whether it is possible to achieve a socially sustainable and transformative practice in educational contexts. Our approach in the study is critical and reflective and, firstly, built on a literature review including policy documents, research articles and books on sustainability from the perspectives of education and social studies. Secondly, we provide examples of practice from four university sustainability courses. In these courses, social sustainability appears in an interdisciplinary and a sustainable leadership framework. The conclusion from this study is that it is possible to implement social sustainability in various ways at the course level. We identify elementary features at basic, personal and educational levels that facilitate the implementation. However, we see the inclusion of social sustainability as the only way to reshape education and rethink the role of educational institutions. In this reshaping, ethics is the core.

Just as important phenomena such as natural disasters, conflicts and pandemics have effects on people's lives, new technologies also have impacts on people's lives and lifestyles. As a part of COVID-19, many countries have been forced to practice distance education at almost all educational levels. The pandemic of COVID-19 inspired educators to schedule for online learning. To help students learn, educators have used a range of online synchronous meeting technologies (SMTs). Zoom is a widely used, immersive, and easy-to-use SMT. In order to integrate Zoom application effectively which has started to be used in many countries and at all levels of education, it is essential to determine the teachers' thoughts and attitudes about using Zoom in the distance education process. To assess teachers' views, a valid and reliable measuring tool is needed. This research sought to create a valid and reliable scale that would assess teachers' views on the use of Zoom in distance education based on this need. The scale validity and reliability analysis have used for content validity, EFA, CFA, Cronbach alpha, and Composite reliability. According to the study's findings the scale is valid and reliable. Future researchers will be able to apply the developed scale in our study, to teachers working at various educational levels. Furthermore, the scale can be adapted for teachers serving in a variety of countries and cultures.

Teaching is a learned and practiced profession. In the course of their activities, the teacher influences the formation of attitudes, and the views and awareness of children and adolescents. Teaching should prepare young people “to independently manage the development of their own personality, to undertake valuable goals and to choose responsible life paths”. The teacher’s work situation results from the role that the teacher plays in the process of the socialization and education of children and adolescents. This article addresses the problem of the differentiation of the role of the teacher in the education process in Poland in terms of two variables – education and upbringing (child-rearing). It answers the question of whether and how the perception of the teaching profession has changed in the perception of people practicing this profession. How do teachers who are currently retired teachers see the profession and role of the teacher, and how are teachers currently practicing this profession? Is/was the Polish teacher a child-rearer or rather an educator, understood here as a person imparting knowledge? How does the occupation affect the perception of oneself, from the perspective of two groups of surveyed teachers (currently employed and retired)? All the reflections contained in the article are based on interviews with retired and currently working teachers. These interviews were part of a wider research project conducted in recent years by the author of the article in Polish educational institutions. The research took the form of ethnographic field research.
