ABSTRACT Due to the esthetic necessity required nowadays, the multidisciplinar treatment became a fundamental step in the restoration success. When the patient exhibits dental agenesis of one or more elements, he can show difficulty in social interactions. The age of the patient is a limiting factor to esthetic procedures, however, it should be evaluated as a real indicative with each case. The utilization of semi-direct restorations is a viable option due the cost, esthetic and improvement of physical and mechanical properties. The purpose of this paper is to present a case detailing the confection and cementation of anterior semi-direct restorations aimed at an anatomic reestablishment associated with integrated treatment with periodontics and orthodontics. The safety factors for different variants of operation development were obtained, on the basis of which the technical and economic indicators were established and the most expedient way of restoration of dump operations in conditions of the formed landslide was chosen. The solutions were proposed for the external dump No 2 of the Central Ore Mining and Processing Enterprise (COMPE), that allow to continue its future operation. When working in the conditions of the formed landslide, three variants of the further dump operation are modeled: the first one - with landslide removal and unloading of the upper dump horizons, the second one - without landslide removal and involvement of disturbed lands in land allotment, the third one - with the landslide loading. Based on the built sections of the dump and defined physical and mechanical properties, the stability factors were obtained for different options of the operation development, which made it possible to determine the appropriate option to eliminate the effects of the dump slide deformations. As a result of the calculations, the cost flows for each of the proposed options of the formation of the end contour of the dump No 2 are determined.

The properties of rubber products are determined by the nature and content of caoutchoucs, vulcanizing systems and other ingredients. Among them, fillers play an important role. The most common fillers are carbon black and silicas. Recently, in connection with the increasing operational requirements for rubber products, additives of special fillers began to be introduced into rubber mixtures. Among them, silicates are of practical interest, the use of which allows not only to reduce the cost, but also to give qualitatively new useful physical and mechanical properties to rubbers. Improving the physical and mechanical properties of rubbers directly depends on the particle size of the fillers. Fillers with a smaller particle size have a larger surface area and have a significant effect on the physical and mechanical properties of rubbers. The highly developed surface of powdered magnesium hydrosilicate suggests its use as a filler for rubber compounds. In this regard, it is of interest to study the effect of magnesium hydrosilicate on the properties of rubbers. This article explored the possibility of using magnesium hydrosilicate in plantar rubber based on a combination of nitrile butadiene SKN-4055, methyl styrene butadiene SKMS-30ARK and isoprene SKI-3 caoutchoucs. The rheometric properties were investigated for the rubber mixture, and the physical and mechanical properties, hardness, resistance to thermal aging and the action of aggressive media were determined for vulcanizates. As a result of the studies, it was found that the best rheometric, physico-mechanical and operational properties are possessed by the vulcanizate of the rubber compound, in which the silicon-acid filler of rossil 175 was partially replaced by magnesium hydrosilicate. This rubber can be used in the production of oil and petrol resistant soles of rubber shoes.

Formaldehyde-based resins are conventionally used as a binder in formulation of particleboard. Epidemiologic studies have shown that formaldehyde is carcinogenic. Efforts to reduce the health hazard effects of the fomaldehyde-based resin in the particleboard formulation have included use of scavengers for formaldehydes and use of an alternative binder. Use of scavengers for the formaldehyde increases the cost and maintenance of particleboard formulation. There is no proof that scavengers eliminate the emission of formaldehyde from particleboard. Use of biobased binders in particleboard formulation provides an alternative for eliminating use of the formaldehyde-based resin. However, the alternative is hindered by challenges, which include limitations of physical and mechanical properties. The challenge has continuously been acted upon through research. The paper presents an overview of the use of starch as an alternative binder. Improvement over time of the starch and limitations thereof requires to be addressed. Use of the modified starch has shown increased particleboard performance. Mechanical strength, such as modulus of rupture, modulus of elasticity, and internal bonding in particleboards, however, remains to be a challenge.

Despite reduced resistance to wheel rim wear, after every grinding, only geometrical parameters of wheels are restored at maintenance depots. A tendency towards a decrease in the exploitation of wheel rim working edge induces the acquisition of new wheels, is related to a considerable increase in axle load and train speed as well as linked to the ineffective methods of repairing wheel rim working edge. A solution to the problem of restoring the surface of wheelset rolling, as a wider problem of rolling stock durability, is determined by the fact that the breakdown of the rolling wheelset and the loss of its efficiency shortens the service time of the wheelset. The cost of pointless and inefficient renovations of geometrical wheelset parameters increases and is of a very high rate. The problem of efficient renovations to rims and steel used for wheels within the maintenance of wheelsets becomes a burning issue today.

At present, a lack of efficiency of the rotary drilling intensification can be observed at mining enterprises that employ drill rigs. Due to this, we propose to enhance the rotary drilling using shock loads by installing a down-the-hole (DTH) hammer into the drill string of the rig for roller drilling, for instance, SBSh-250. The paper discusses the issue related to an increase in the drilling rate using a drill rig with DTH hammer and adjustable valve that regulates the air flow. The paper considers different types of drilling in engineering and geological surveys. Rocks were sampled for various types of drilling. The physical and mechanical properties of rocks, which affect the drilling process, were considered. The study focuses on a significant increase in the drilling rate through an increase in the impact power. As part of the study, an improved drill rig with a down-the-hole hammer controlled by a radio receiver was developed. When analyzing the physical and mechanical properties, it was shown that the control of DTH hammer operation enables fast drilling of complex rocks without reducing the drilling rate. An increase in the drilling rate of self-propelled equipment using DTH hammers installed above the drill bit will reduce the cost of drilling and extend the service life of the working tool.

The authors showed that the main technological process in the combined and separate methods of fiber flax harvesting is deseeding or separating the seed part of the crop from the stems. It was confirmed that there is a direct impact of this process success on seed and straw losses, the fiber yield and quality, the heap composition, the labor intensity and energy consumption of flax drying and processing. (Research purpose) To develop a technology for stripping fiber flax with a comb deseeder during harvesting, to study the deseeder’s specifications and operating modes. (Materials and methods) The authors studied the technological process of stripping flax with a comb deseeder. An experimental plant of a comb deseeder was designed. A model of theoretical calculation was proposed based on the physical and mechanical properties of fiber flax and agrotechnical requirements for its harvesting. (Results and discussion) The authors theoretically determined the comb deseeder’s optimal height, operation kinematic mode, stripping cleanliness, the radius of the stripper drum. Laboratory studies were conducted. It was shown that threshing seeds in the field will reduce the loss of flax seeds by 10 per cent and the stem waste due to tangling during the harvesting process – by 18 per cent. It will also reduce the number of harvesting vehicles, personnel, and the cost of product. The authors identified an opportunity to increase productivity by increasing the width of the header grip: for example, the width of a grain harvester header is about 4 meters, and the width of a flax harvester header is 1.52 meters, that is, the productivity of flax harvesting will increase 2.6 times at the same speed, and 3 times at a higher speed. It was possible to eliminate one piece of equipment – a heap separating machine, since the technological operation of heap processing is carried out by a grain harvester. (Conclusions) The authors presented a theoretical substantiation of the comb deseeder’s operating parameters and modes for stripping fiber flax in the field. The authors proposed a model to determine them based on the physical and mechanical properties of flax and agrotechnical requirements for its harvesting.

Aluminum alloys reinforced composite materials have been widely used in automobile, aeronautical and other commercial applications. Aluminum composites are light weight material with high specific strength, specific modulus, stiffness, heat resistant,eco-friendly and have extreme properties so used in large volumes. Due to these circumstances;we have to reduce the price and weight of the composites, improve and increase physical and mechanical properties. One of the ways to reduce the cost of composites is reducing the cost of reinforcement by using cheap, weightless, and easily available materials like fly ash and improving the properties by adding sic. These properties are achieved through the properties intrinsic in them and the size, shape, orientation, weight and distribution. Several casting methods are used by the industries to manufacture the composite products, and each casting method has its own pros and cons. In traditional process, defects of pore formation due to gas, shrinkage porosities are regular and these defects decrease the mechanical properties and integrity of the end product. To overcome such defects, comparatively better squeeze casting method can be implemented.
