This article attempts to explicate the socio-cultural aspect as a general methodological tool that will allow making an integral analysis of modern society. The possibility of using the methodological potential of the sociocultural approach to analyze the process of change in modern society, which is increasingly called informational and communicative, is considered. This concept of the information society functions and creates social ideals and values that are widely discussed in the social and human sciences within the framework of a social and cultural approach. Analysis of the information society is a multidisciplinary field of research, and sociocultural analysis is designed to answer important questions: in what direction and for what purpose is the social situation developing and what is the axiological component of this process? The synthesizing nature of the sociocultural analysis of the information society shows the direction of predicting its subsequent advance, the search for new normative concepts that suggest the possibility of localizing this process in a socially desirable channel, while ignoring both excessive optimism and extreme pessimism.

The paper discusses the issues of social projects development to meet the citizens’ needs or to resolve certain social problems by changing the social situation. The reason for designing social projects is responding to the challenges with conflicting, multi-vector development trends or those to be adequately addressed. Social projects demonstrate their specifics. In this context, the principal expert in their assessment is not the government or the project contractor but the society. In modern realia, it is critical to build a strong social state which can not be achieved through the government’s policies alone, however the combined efforts and close cooperation between the community and the state contributes to the desired effect. evidence revealed that such partnerships have gained great significance, although it is argued that there is a need to clearly demarcate the roles of each of the parties. An appropriate information platform was created in Ukraine that optimizes the process of selecting the best projects and accessing the results after their testing. Social projects have a large variety of forms, dimensions, sources of funding and terms of execution. The issue of project feasibility remains paramount. The key criteria to evaluate the social project implementation expediency are the following: harmonization of project proposals, business goals and the overall government strategic development plan; identifying the significance of the project results for the government; specification of the social project capability to adapt for most regions of the country; social project effectiveness. Social projects have become an essential element within the social protection framework, since modern society have no more expectations as to the government assistance, but ultimately seek to search for their own tools to resolve social issues through developing social projects and programs, attracting investment, etc.

Contemporary capitalism is becoming increasingly metaphysical. The article contrasts a ‘physical’ capitalism – of the national and manufacturing age – with a ‘metaphysical capitalism’ of the global information society. It describes physical capitalism in terms of (1) extensity, (2) equivalence, (3) equilibrium and (4) the phenomenal, which stands in contrast to metaphysical capitalism’s (1) intensity, (2) inequivalence (or difference), (3) disequilibrium and (4) the noumenal. Most centrally: if use-value or the gift in pre-capitalist society is grounded in concrete inequivalence, and exchange-value in physical capitalism presumes abstract equivalence, then value in contemporary society presumes abstract inequivalence. The article argues that the predominantly physical causation of the earlier epoch is being superseded by a more metaphysical causation. This is discussed in terms of the four Aristotelian causes. Thus there is a shift in efficient cause from abstract homogenous labour to abstract heterogeneous life. Material cause changes from the commodity’s units of equivalence to consist of informational units of inequivalence. Formal cause takes place through the preservation of form as a disequilibriate system through operations of closure. These operations are at the same time information interchanges with a form’s environment. Final (and first) cause becomes the deep-structural generation of information from a compressed virtual substrate. This may have implications for method in the social and human sciences. The article illustrates this shift with a brief discussion of global finance.

The paper analyses the conditions of personality development in modern children and adolescents, the factors which impede the communication and understanding of other people; it highlights the risks of escaping into the virtual reality or joining asocial groups. The paper also suggests important measures aimed at the formation of psychological culture in children in relation to age-specific tasks of development in primary school and adolescent ages. The review analyzes a new cognitive trend in the social sciences and humanities. It is argued that digital communication technologies, which have formed a global information society with an unprecedented level of social self-organization, have created a public demand for a broad democratization of knowledge. It is shown that in response to this demand, social and human sciences are forced to adjust their theoretical, methodological and methodical tools accordingly.

In the period of post-Soviet states the problem of multi-linguistics and the formation of multilingualism become more urgent. Realization of synergetic poly-aspect approach to the study of the mega-conceptual phenomenon of poly-linguistic-cultural linguistic identity in the context of globalization and migration reveals the characteristics and patterns of evolution in this complex humanitarian and social constructs of modern scientific knowledge from the point of interaction and mutual influence of different-structural languages folklore, national literatures and arts. In addition, it allows you to define the ways, forms and methods of implementation of their communicative potential. Modern electronic-information society raises the question of the choice of language of communication and thinking language. Entropy processes inevitably entail the phenomenon of interference, intervention (capture the scope of the language), attrictsion (deterioration of language) that accompany polylinguism process, influencing the process of learning new languages and the preservation of the native language. Modern society is involved in the world of digital technology and communications; it remains split in the social, ideological, cultural and national relations.

The article deals with the question of what changes should be made in the theory of social anomie, formulated by Emile Durkheim and developed by Robert Merton. This is necessary because modern society has entered a qualitatively new stage in its development and is characterized by the notion of a complex socium. Anomie in a simple socium can be defined as structural. Social system itself creates the conditions in which the destructive behavior is "normal" response to the social situation. Anomie of modern complex society can be defined as reflexive. Variety of value-normative systems leads to the fact that norms become an act of choice. Decision-making center has shifted to the level of the microcosm. They have become as unpredictable as social life in general.

The Humanities, throughout the formation of the cultural experience of humankind, depended on the environment in which they developed, and on the concepts of reality that prevailed in this environment. Modern Humanities are in a state of uncertainty as concerns its roles, including those associated with the rapid evolution of the contemporary information society. The purpose of this article is to overcome this uncertainty. The author presents the main stages of interaction evolution and the ontology of humanitarian knowledge in the digital society in the last two decades. The article is a partial representation of the results of intercollegiate research conducted in 2019 at the Faculty of Free Arts and Sciences of Saint Petersburg State University: “Narratives of public communications in modern Russia”. The process of studying the ontology of humanitarian knowledge in the digital environment is a continuous one because reality is changing dynamically. Researchers are in a dual position: it is possible to study and generalise the observed results during the period of transition from post-industrial society to the modern concept of reality; to model the future conceptual sphere as a set of entities and categories that are in event interaction as a communicative environment with predetermined parameters. At the same time, it is necessary to take into account the fact that the social reality of modern society has already formed its interdisciplinary specificity, which is subject to ontological understanding.
