AbstractThe debate over the indigenous versus the European roots of ‘African democracy’ has regained importance recently. Using the critical tools of cultural anthropology, the social and political thought of Julius K. Nyerere from Tanzania is examined for its African and European sources. The most recurrent themes in his writings are ‘traditional African values’ and the centrality of ‘the traditional African family’. They constitute the core element of Ujamaa. The aim of this article is to show that Nyerere’s statements on African socialism and on African democracy are not merely rhetorical devices employed by an aspiring politician. Nor are they the romantic appeal of a Westernised university graduate to a mythological or even ‘invented’ African past. Nyerere presented his own specific version of ‘traditional’ African values because he was socialised in a non-hierarchical ‘tribal’ society. He sought to synthesise these ‘traditional’ values with Western elements in order to create a Tanzanian identity that would cut across ethnic lines. In those cases when African and European value systems collided, however, Nyerere’s politics became problematic.

From the Paleolithic era till the modern times of current Pandemic, human race has witnessed not only biological evolution but also sociocultural one. Gender has always been an important consideration in development of civilizations. Without much change, the world has been perceived only in binary oppositions which consign the social structure only in heteronormative ideal of having an adamant notion of a man or woman, their social practice, behavior and fixed identities. Contemporary Post-modernist Indian writers through their writings shamble the power hierarchy and reconsider these social practices, softening the gender distinctions. Based on these literary texts of gender dichotomy in terms of non-normative sexual identities from the epic Mahabharata presented in the book The Pregnant King, this paper is an attempt to reinterpret the gender transgression and psychological issues which testifies unawareness of a double marginality, a perspective on latent conflict between society and individuals, an inequality felt by the victims in terms of gender from Mahabharata India till today. These complex areas need to be dealt with more conscious interventions, somewhat deconstruction of queerness is required and the ideas that question fixed notions of heterosexual society indicate empirical enquiries. Today’s society seems more sensitive towards understanding the difficult emotions connected to objective sexuality and preferences - a person’s discomfort in accepting gender-based restrictions. Need of the hour is to ponder on the subtle yet significant questions like-What happens if one desires toexperience life regardless of his/her gender? Why there is a contradiction on the part of how societies are preaching and practicing value systems which welcome idea of rainbow structure and individual freedom. Though many cultures have moved towards a more egalitarian social system over past centuries but still patriarchy has a strong influence on modern civilization especially in context of India. For improving life satisfaction and promoting happiness, there is need of a more aware society where one has the ability to choose circumstances of one’s life.

The article is devoted to the analysis of the categories "creativity" and "creativity" in the context of modern society. The main resource in the modern era is the knowledge of the individual, his ability to creative activity. In turn, the increasing role of knowledge and information leads to an emphasis on the creative nature of activities, which are now associated with the process of individual self-realization and the study of favorable conditions for creativity. The author explores the process of transformation of creative activity, which involves the problem of simulations and determines the nature and content of this activity. The problem of simulative creativity turns into an alienation of creativity as a special way of human existence. In a simulated reality of the information society, the author characterizes a new form of creativity with the term "creativity". The study of existing approaches to the distinction between creativity and creativity leads to the definition of creativity as a form of creativity of the modern information age. The content of the concept of "creativity" corresponds to the conditions of modern society where the transformation of creative activity takes place. Creativity is a kind of "response" to the "challenge" of the information society regarding creativity. The information age opens up wide scope for creative self-realization but at the same time it sets the task for a person to form certain methods, which he could use to actualize himself as a creative person that meets the needs of the era. The new "challenge" of society is, according to the author, the return of the process of determining importance in creative activity, because focus on results turns into a depreciation of the process. A "response" to this "challenge" will mean a transition from creativity to creativity at a higher level, which is possible in the context of addressing the concept of "active life".

Culture in different forms of its manifestation is a necessary factor in the progressive development of modern society. Cultural factor regulates norms of social behavior and determines social status of a personality, provides economic and social stability, civil consent and tolerant coexistence of all segments of society. The full social insurance of citizens should provide guaranteed satisfaction not only their physical but also spiritual needs. The decline in living standards in modern Russian reality limits the possibility of familiarizing the general public to the true cultural values. And this raises the task of the moral and aesthetic development of the personality in a number of very significant social problems. Socially-oriented cultural and educational activity contributes their solution. It is carried out in a variety of forms: from certain regional-scaled actions, to the resonance events at national and international levels (free exhibitions, charity concerts, lectures, performances, etc.). Domestic tourism is another direction of socially oriented cultural and educational activities. The development of tourism programs, taking into account the availability of tourist attraction for social groups, allows to enforce the rights of pensioners, the disabled, orphans, war and labor veterans, low-income citizens in familiarizing to cultural values. Creation of special guided tours and tourism programs across the native land for the social category of tourists, as well as staff training combining the functions of social workers and guides with skills to provide first medical and psychological care are an urgent task. This requires not only seeking funding from national and regional budgets, but also involvement of sponsors and volunteers, primarily students, who are mastering the professions associated with the service and tourism. The implementation of socially oriented cultural and educational projects will successfully contribute to the solution of fundamental problems, aimed at humanization of the social environment, overcoming the negative effects of anti-social occurrences, the increasing importance of spiritual values in modern Russian society.
