One of the problems faced in the management of conservation areas, including wildlife reserves, is the community activities in and around the area to meet their daily needs. They in general have traditionally carried on their traditional lives and most of them live at a very subsistence economic level. Therefore the success of the management of conservation areas including wildlife reserves is very dependent on the attitudes and support of the community both at the local and national level. Bukit Rimbang Bukit Baling Wildlife Reserve has been determined by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia through the Decree of the Minister of Forestry number SK.3977/Menhut-VII/KUH/2014 on May 23, 2014 with an area of 141,226.25 hectares (BBKSDA Riau, 2015). Tanjung Belit Village, Kampar Kiri Hulu Subdistrict, Kampar Regency is one of the villages bordering the Bukit Rimbang Hill Baling High School which has high public concern for the preservation of the forest, rivers and the surrounding environment. The people of Tanjung Belit Village have traditionally used natural resources in and around the Bukit Rimbang Bukit Baling Wildlife Reserve area to fulfill their daily needs by farming / gardening and collecting forest products and other river products. However, the availability of these forest and river resources, if taken continuously, will certainly decrease both in quality and quantity. While the necessities of life always increase along with the increasing population and the progress of the times. Therefore efforts should be made to the community and natural resources, so that the availability of natural resources and the necessities of life can be improved. This study aims to analyze the socio-economic conditions of the people of Tanjung Belit Village, identify the potential of Bukit Rimbang Bukit Baling Wildlife Reserve, formulate the Tanjung Belit Village community empowerment strategy around the Bukit Rimbang Bukit Baling Wildlife Reserve, Kampar Regency, Riau Province. The research approach used in this study is a quantitative approach to the survey method.he results showed the socio-economic conditions of the people of Tanjung Belit Village were still classified as poor and less skilled. However, local wisdom and a strong will to try to be a social capital in community empowerment. The potential of Bukit Rimbang Hill Bukit Baling has quite high potential from flora, fauna and nature tourism, but for the development of agricultural business is still limited due to the status of the wildlife reserve. The results of the study can be formulated a strategy of community empowerment in the village of Tanjung Belit around Bukit Rimbang Bukit Baling Wildlife Reserve; (a) optimize land use in agricultural business development; (b) encourage training activities to improve human resources in the context of community empowerment; (c) active community involvement in the management of the Bukit Rimbang Bukit Baling Wildlife Reserve area; (d) increasing cooperation support between the government and stakeholders in developing infrastructure supporting natural tourism around the Bukit Rimbang Bukit Baling Wildlife Reserve.

Kulon Progo Regency is one of the districts that has many innovations, one of which is community empowerment in collaboration with a modern shop abbreviated as the shop name owned by the people (tomira). This research was motivated by the achievements of the Kulon Progo district government in carrying out development and innovation in the development of the Kulon Progo region by fully involving the Kulon Progo district community through community empowerment. This initiative was taken by the government of Kulon Progo Regency to improve community empowerment and protect the people of Kulon Progo Regency from various economic threats. Considering that in the past few years many modern shops have mushroomed in each district/city, so this is what makes Kulon Progo Regency move quickly to empower the community by collaborating between MSMEs or cooperative with modern shops. This study uses a qualitative method which case study approach. With the empowerment that has been done, the original products of Kulon Progo Regency or local products can be traded in modern stores so that local products in Kulon Progo Regency can compete with national products in these modern stores. The existence of such cooperation will indirectly improve the image of Kulon Progo Regency and lift the original products of Kulon Progo Regency. The lifting of the original products of Kulon Progo Regency will have a positive impact on the community, where indirectly the economy of the community will increase so that there will be prosperity for the community. Kabupaten Kulon Progo adalah salah satu kabupaten yang memiliki banyak inovasi, salah satunya adalah pemberdayaan masyarakat bekerja sama dengan toko modern disingkat nama toko yang dimiliki oleh masyarakat (tomira). Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pencapaian pemerintah kabupaten Kulon Progo dalam melakukan pengembangan dan inovasi dalam pengembangan wilayah Kulon Progo dengan melibatkan sepenuhnya masyarakat kabupaten Kulon Progo melalui pemberdayaan masyarakat. Inisiatif ini diambil oleh pemerintah Kabupaten Kulon Progo untuk meningkatkan pemberdayaan masyarakat dan melindungi masyarakat Kabupaten Kulon Progo dari berbagai ancaman ekonomi. Menimbang bahwa dalam beberapa tahun terakhir banyak toko-toko modern telah menjamur di setiap kabupaten/kota, jadi inilah yang membuat Kabupaten Kulon Progo bergerak cepat untuk memberdayakan masyarakat dengan berkolaborasi antara UMKM atau bekerjasama dengan toko-toko modern. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus, dengan metode yang digunakan adalah dokumentasi. Dengan pemberdayaan yang telah dilakukan, produk asli Kabupaten Kulon Progo atau produk lokal dapat diperdagangkan di toko modern sehingga produk lokal di Kabupaten Kulon Progo dapat bersaing dengan produk nasional di toko modern ini. Adanya kerjasama tersebut secara tidak langsung akan meningkatkan citra Kabupaten Kulon Progo dan mengangkat produk asli Kabupaten Kulon Progo. Pencabutan produk asli Kabupaten Kulon Progo akan berdampak positif bagi masyarakat, di mana secara tidak langsung perekonomian masyarakat akan meningkat sehingga akan ada kesejahteraan bagi masyarakat.

Poverty is still an urgent agenda that needs to be addressed by the Government in Gowa Regency, especially the poor, to empower the people in Bujjulu area. The purpose of the study was to analyze poverty reduction by community empowerment through integrated coconut products in Bujjulu District, Gowa Regency. The research method used is a qualitative approach. The data collection techniques used are observation methods, interview methods, and documentation methods. The data analysis technique in this study used are data condensation, data display (data presentation), conclusion drawing/verification The result of the research is that Bujjulu Village, Gowa Regency is mostly carried out with the principle of learning by doing so that this integrated coconut program can be expected to produce an increase in family income in particular. The implementation of this training focused on making flower pots from coconut fiber, making charcoal and briquettes as alternative fuels as a substitute for oil and gas which are currently difficult to obtain, making nata de coco, and transforming the coconut into copra.

The Bukit Tangkiling Conservation Area has great potential for natural resources, including clean water, honey bees, recreation services, and religious services. There is also potential for split stone, which had been mined by the people from the rock hills in the area. The potential utilization of these natural resources trigger conflicts between interests to maintain the function and existence of conservation areas with the interests of using split stone for the community in order to meet the development needs of the city of Palangka Raya and its surrounding regions, at the cost of damaging the existing area. As an input in managing the conservation area Bukit Tangkiling is well implemented, research is needed on the social and economic conditions of the community’s surrounding the area. The research used survey methods and respondents are determined by purposive sampling and simple random sampling, and data analysis was both qualitative and quantitative. The communities around the Bukit Tangkiling conservation area are dominated by productive age (18-56 years), Banturung Village 59.00% and Tangkiling Village 54.97%. The level of education is relatively low, Banturung Village 72.96% and Tangkiling Village 73.29%. Having low education, most of the people have difficulty in finding decent work. Aside from that, most people do not understand the function of the forest or the function of the conservation area and tend to be apathetic about the existence of the Bukit Tangkiling conservation area that must be preserved. For some of these poorly educated people, the work of mining rocks is the best alternative to meeting the economic needs of the household. Income obtained from mining rock ranges from 2-4 million IRD per month.

Entikong is one of Indonesia's land border areas with Sarawak Malaysia, which is the gateway for economic and business activities. Despite being the front porch of a country, the fact is that the border areas of the State are very conditioned with lag. Limited access to public service resources and the inadequate community ability in processing natural resources including agriculture and plantations are the dominant factors influencing the lag of a border area. Bamboo is one of the abundant forest products in Entikong. The use of bamboo in the community is still limited to its use as building materials (scaffolding) and as a protective fence for plants in the gardens of the citizens. Bamboo Rope (Gigantochloa hasskarliana Kurz) species of bamboo found in the Entikong region, where elsewhere it generally makes it as a household handicraft material, but has not been used effectively in the entikong region. Community service activities aim to improve the skills of the Entikong community in processing bamboo plants as handicrafts of household goods of economic value so that it can be an additional source of income for the people on the border ===== Entikong adalah wilayah perbatasan darat Indonesia dengan Sarawak Malaysia, yang menjadi gerbang kegiatan ekonomi dan perniagaan. Meskipun menjadi beranda depan dari suatu negara, kenyataannya bahwa wilayah batas negara sangat sarat dengan ketertinggalan. Keterbatasan mengakses sumber-sumber pelayanan masyarakat dan kemampuan masyarakat yang tidak memadai dalam mengolah sumber daya alam termasuk pertanian dan perkebunan merupakan faktor yang dominan memengaruhi ketertinggalan sebuah wilayah perbatasan. Bambu adalah salah satu hasil hutan yang kelimpahannya besar di daerah Entikong. Pemanfaatan bambu dalam masyarakat masih terbatas pada penggunaannya sebagai bahan bangunan (perancah) dan sebagai pagar pelindung tanaman di kebun-kebun warga. Bambu tali (Gigantochloa hasskarliana Kurz.) adalah salah satu spesies bambu yang terdapat di wilayah Entikong. Di tempat lain umumnya menjadikannya sebagai bahan kerajinan rumah tangga, tetapi belum dimanfaatkan secara efektif di wilayah Entikong. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan warga masyarakat Entikong dalam mengolah tanaman bambu sebagai kerajinan alat-alat rumah tangga yang bernilai ekonomis sehingga dapat menjadi sumber penghasilan tambahan masyarakat di perbatasan tersebut.

Forests are easily available renewable natural resources in the world that directly and indirectly provide socio-economic benefits to the people living in and around the forests and also environmental protection and ecological balance to the global people. In Nepal, traditionally people’s participation in forest protection and sustainable management was very popular through many informal traditional and indigenous forest management committees. But, unfortunately, there was a huge lost of forests in quantity, quality and density due to some unfavorable socio-economic and political situations. So, the government has formally, legally and gradually shifted from centralized to decentralized protection and management of forests since mid of 1970’s through various forest plans, policies, acts, regulation and guidelines. The major aims of people’s participation are to get basic forest products, socio-economic development, and overall improvement of forest resources. Moreover, the role of I/NGOs and other stakeholders should be as partner, advisor, facilitator and more technical supporter for effective participation of people. Environmental aspects have been some of the most argued about topics in society, including the role of the government as a stakeholder. Deforestation and illegal mining have been destroying the many ecosystems and rainforest habitats, including along the Katingan Watershed. The research objective is to describe public perception and participation in environmental preservation. The research used descriptive qualitative method and applying Spradley Domain Analysis. Primary and secondary data were obtained directly from field informants using interviews, observations and documentation. The research results show that the people’s perception and participation in environmental preservation was categorized into two groups. The first group one stated that they did contributed out of personal and financial interests, whilst the second groups were simply following the instructions of the government and local leaders. In general, locals have different perception on how they utilize the natural resources. The management of natural resources was perceived as being done for economic reasons, with the assumption that it were used sustainably. People’s involvement in preserving nature were affected their own needs either individually or collectively. Participation of the people in the conservation around the watersheds area was done for reasons of individual desire, solidarity, and to follow instructions from the government and Katingan Hilir leader. Environmental effort is carried out in activities aiming to protect and prevent damage to the area of the Katingan River. This lead to argue that diverse people’s perception to preserving environment generates the difference participation in their awareness.

Forestry partnership is a social forestry scheme as an attempt resolution of conflict society and permit holders. The objective of the research to explain the forestry partnership program conducted by PT REKI and the people of Dusun Kunangan Jaya I. This research used a qualitative research approach. The methods of data collection include in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document studies. The results of the research showed a forestry partnership carried out by PT REKI and KTH Berkah Jaya, KTH Bungin Mandiri and indigenous people of Batin Sembilan. The agroforestry pattern is applied to partnership lands. The percentage of forestry partnership outcomes, 85% for the community and 15% for PT REKI. The rights and obligations that have not been achieved have an impact on hampering agroforestry management. The limited funding of  PT REKI, which depends on donors as a source of income causing the forestry partnership program has not been maximized. PT REKI in supporting forestry partnership provides various facilities including the provision of forestry plant seeds, cattle, education, and health services community empowerment. The rejection of forestry partnership cooperation carried out by most of the community because of mismatch between the expectation of community and PT REKI. Forest products are materials gotten from forest, for the direct consumption or commercial use such as timber and non-timber forest products. The destruction of forest in Andoni due to the exploration and consumption of forest products are done without determining the values of these products that could have been lost. This study attempts to determine the value of identified forest products information gathered through the use of questionnaire focus group discussion, field survey and other related materials. The simple percentage analysis shows that forest products have a lot of value to the people; hence community dwellers involved in it. Conclusively, forest product were identified and categorized into wildlife species (wild animal) and plant species which usefulness were been influenced by socio-external factor, economical factor and livelihood security factor. The economic value of forest product in a study area is N532,351,300.00 while the expected value is N865,648,300.00. Therefore, the government at all levels should provide indiscriminate exploitation of premature forest product policy on forest management that are appropriate. These should be made to effectively reflect and enhance forest protection and improvement of livelihood of the people.

Natural wealth is an invaluable resource so it must be preserved. Indonesia as an agrarian, archipelago and maritime country located on the equator is one of the countries in the world that has abundant natural resources compared to other countries. To manage these crops, the community and the government support each other in the process of conservation through a positive management process. Institutions related to the process are expected to be able to join hands with the community, so that the community, government and the state can enjoy the results in the long run. One way to help the community, especially in areas far from the center of government, or the community wherever located. Cooperative allianz is one of the solutions that is considered in accordance with the conditions and culture of the community. Because Cooperatives allianz are a form of business that has long existed and been run by Indonesian people since ancient times. As a supporting effort for the development of cooperatives, the government should provide support in the form of training for human resources manager of cooperatives and communities around cooperatives, so that the initial purpose of forming cooperatives can be achieved well and satisfactorily.

The land is a source of life for living creature, whether human, animal or plant. Humans live and live on the ground and these the land to source life by planting plants that produce food. Considering the importance of land because it can produce natural resources that are very beneficial for many people, the government needs to be related. Landis also one of the factors of production that are vital for human life and development in a nation. An increase in the volume of development within a country, eroding the importance of land for agriculture. Population growth requires a large area, resulting in reduced or reduced land supply. Then the government made law number 56 of PRP in 1960 concerning the stipulation of the area of agricultural land carried out by the long midrange community was hereditary. And at the time of the process of returning the rights to the community's land long midrange program, there was a problem that the long midrange community did not agree with the program because the long midrange community did not want a portion it the agricultural land was taken by the government. And in general, agricultural land controlled by the people in long midrange is used for agricultural land because the potential of natural resources here is quite abundant and even then that is used by the people in long midrange as agricultural lands, such as making rice field, plantations, fields, and still many more are use our exciting community. But the community does not know of the minimum and maximum limit or agricultural land they community.
