Consumer decision making is a basic psychological process that plays an important role in understanding how consumers actually decide something to use or buy. Decision making for customers to become debtors is influenced by several internal and external factors and in this study, perception, social environment and motivation factors were selected as factors that could influence decision making to become a debtor or loan customer at BPR Pijer Podi Kekelengen Branch Simpang Selayang Medan. The formulation of the problem is whether there is an influence of perceptions and the social environment on decision making to become a loan customer of the BPR Pijer Podi Kekelengen Simpang Selayang Medan Branch, either directly or indirectly through motivation. The hypothesis in this study is that the perception and social environment have a significant effect on decision making to become a loan customer at the BPR Pijer Podi Kekelengen Branch of Simpang Selayang Medan, either directly or indirectly through motivation. This study used a survey approach. Methods of data collection are carried out through interviews, documentation and questionnaires. The number of samples in this study were 90 people who were determined by accidental sampling. Hypothesis testing using Structural Equation Model (SEM) analysis is intended to determine the effect of independent variables on the dependent variable through or without intervening variables on the basis of decision making seen from the value of p> 0.05 H0 is accepted and Ha is rejected or p <0.05 H0 is rejected. and Ha accepted. The test results show that the perception and social environment directly have a significant effect on debtor decision making. In this study, the motivation variable does not act as an intervening variable that mediates the influence between perceptions and the social environment on decision making to become a loan customer. Social Environment variable is the variable that has the greatest influence on decision making with a coefficient value of 0.461. Keywords: perception, social environment, motivation, decision making/

[ACCESS RESTRICTED TO THE UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI AT AUTHOR'S REQUEST.] The debate about boundaries in journalism amid the rise of citizen journalism, the crisis of business models in the news industry and the use of social media in the news-gathering and dissemination process, has become a central focus in the media industry and academia. There is no doubt that the digital transition is a trend. Based on the Carlson's (2015) boundaries of journalism theory and Shoemaker and Vos' (2009) levels of analysis in the gatekeeping theory, administering a cross-sectional, self-administered questionnaire, national online survey (N=1063), conducting a Structural Equation Model (SEM) analysis, the study seeks to find out the relationships between socialization and perceptions of digital impact on journalism, journalists and news organizations. The findings showed news organizations' social media culture affects journalists' use of social media. Twitter interactivity mediates journalists' social media internalization and their attitude toward social media. However, this mediating effects does not apply to Facebook and other social media interactivity. The distinguishing line between reporters and editors is blurring in news organizations. Older journalists (age>40) are picking up social media as additional journalistic tools and developing a positive attitude toward them. However, there still may be a long way to go before old journalists become experts in social media.

The unprecedented abundance of choice and retail outlets creates a massive array of choice for consumers most especially students. Innovative consumers are an important market segment. This paper seeks to investigate whether consumers’ innate innovativeness is associated with their shopping styles. Specifically, it aims to explore the relationship between two types of innovativeness (sensory innovativeness and cognitive innovativeness and consumer shopping styles). Indeed, the unprecedented abundance of choice and retail outlets creates a massive array of choice for consumers. Despite these significant changes in the commercial environment, very little is known about the decision making processes of consumers in developing countries, most especially in Botswana. Ostensibly, the paucity of research in this area hinders our understanding of consumer decision making processes. The paper integrates the consumer innovativeness and consumer shopping styles literature. A structural equation model was used to test the relationship between cognitive and sensory innovativeness and various shopping styles. Cognitive innovators are inclined to show shopping styles such as quality consciousness, price consciousness, and confusion by overchoice, while sensory innovators are inclined to have shopping styles such as brand consciousness, fashion consciousness, recreational orientation, impulsive shopping, and brand loyalty/habitual shopping. The research is based on a convenience sample of young consumers in Botswana. The findings of this research would hopefully help managers to develop a deeper insight into product development and marketing. Furthermore, since the youth market in Botswana represents an enormous opportunity for marketers, the paper provides valuable insights into this key market segment. It thus provides new insights into the shopping patterns of consumers who belong to different innovativeness types. It also makes a new contribution to the shopping styles literature by explicating potential antecedents to the various shopping styles among the largest private tertiary institution students in Botswana.

The results of the development of an information model for the personality’s social portrait formation are presented. The modelling has been carried out using OSINT technology that is the technology of legal obtaining and using open source information. In the result of the analysis, it has been found out that the social portrait is a heterogeneous semantic network consisting of personalized data. It has been defined that people organize formal and official communities of various orientations and the number of such communities associated with a particular person is practically unlimited. When formalizing the decision-making process, the concept of a group social portrait (GSP) has been introduced, which takes into account the community’s social tendencies united by certain common properties, group members' interpersonal interactions and their behavioural patterns. The obtained information models of personal and group social portraits let to take into account all the main properties of the objects under study, their tonality and significance, as well as to conduct an analysis of the implicit dependencies determination. The next step is to move on to considering the diversity of the digital social environment elements.
