Work engagement is a positive view of an employee towards his work that is characterized by vigour, full involvement (dedication), and high concentration during work (absorption). This study aims to determine the description and causes of having employee engagement by exploring dimensions based on the definition of work engagement proposed by Schaufeli, Gonzalez, & Bakker (2002), vigour, dedication, absorption. The research was conducted through a literature study that is finding various related sources and making conclusions in accordance with the research objectives. The credibility test used is peer debriefing, namely asking other researchers who are not involved in the research project to help investigate the thinking of researchers in all or certain parts of the research process. The results showed that the most dominant dimension of work engagement was dedication

A model of analysis about the research process as a whole is proposed based on seven basic questions: what, who or what things, where, when, how, for what purpose and why to investigate. The aim is to reconstruct the logic commanding the definition of a phenomenon individuated conceptually, spatiotemporally as an object of knowledge, and also the modes, objectives and purposes of an inquiry. These seven questions constitute a system of basic problems that, according to the hypothesis of a unified method, account for any research process. The said hypothesis is grounded on a dialectical perspective which highlights some of the fundamental tensions running through the process: available and attainable knowledge, theoretical, abstract and general contents as well as empirical, concrete and singular contents; scientific concepts and common sense. Moreoever, a number of practical consequences are highlighted which can contribute to the teaching of methodology, in addition to the planning and formulation of a research project. This is exemplified by an interdisciplinary research project in the Social Sciences of Labour.

The aim of the paper is to present the findings of our own questionnaire-based quantitative study carried out in 2018. The research questionnaire was sent to companies in the databases of two universities (the database of enterprises cooperating with each university), which were selected according to the criterion of the number of employees (micro, small, medium, and large companies). The study attempted to identify the correlations among the following variables: people-oriented management, non-people-oriented management, direct active and passive participation, and engagement in work. Two research questions drove the research process: (RQ1) What are the links between people-oriented management and non-people-oriented management, direct (active and passive) participation, and work engagement? (RQ2) Does direct participation (active and passive) mediate the relationship between people and non-people-oriented management and employees’ engagement? To this end, 1037 employees of companies operating in Poland reported the intensity of people-oriented management, non-people-oriented management, and direct (active and passive) participation. Research findings revealed that people-oriented management and active participation (i.e., co-deciding) are the most significant for work engagement. Not only does non-people-oriented management entail a low level of engagement but a lower level of direct participation as well. As far as the dimensions of engagement are concerned (i.e., vigour, dedication, and absorption), if one of them is more intense, the other are intense as well. People-oriented management translates into active participation and the latter into engagement in all the three dimensions. A structural equation model demonstrated that perceived people-oriented management and active participation were strong, positive, and significant predictors of work engagement.

Starting with a brief definition of the notion of ecological stability, the article goes on to describe how this issue is taken into account in forest development plans. We show that a surprising number of animal and plant species are affected by the planning. Depending on the ecological situation and the or ganisms under consideration, different stability characteristics are important. As not all ecological situations can reasonably be considered in forest development planning, we give various suggestions for improvement as to how the concept of ecological stability can better be taken into consideration in future regional forestry plans.

The concept of context is a cornerstone of a large part of social science research, particularly in organization and management studies, yet it has received little theoretical and methodological attention in lieu of its relevance. This book offers a definition of context as a theoretical construct, a discussion of the methodological implications of this, and a framework for how to reflect upon and operationalize the role of context in the different stages of a research process, from formulating research questions to analyzing and writing about results. The chapters presented here integrate lessons derived from various research experiences across the complex and dynamic field of health care. Contributors share their experiences with theorizing about and empirically studying significant organizational phenomena such as implementation of policy, organizational change, integration of care, patient involvement, human-technology interactions in practice, and the interplay between work environment and care outcomes in eldercare. These contributions exemplify how a nuanced approach to context might unfold in different fields, through different designs, methods, and analytical lenses. Relevant to researchers and practitioners, within both healthcare, organization and management studies, and the social sciences more broadly, this book leaves the reader with a practical framework from which to carry out contextual research and analysis and a gain deeper understanding of the significance of context in organizational life.

The community's role during a disaster within the first 24 - 72 hours before having government's aid is crucial in making the condition under control in a timely manner, disaster management institution, especially at local level, has not had any models for preparedness training through participative approach based on the local wisdom of Jambi community to reduce disaster risks. The research process is carried out in three stages, (1) the first part is a literature study conducted to obtain information about how to deal with natural disasters, (2) Field studies conducted in several areas related to floods in Jambi Province, (3) ) Analysis Community needs are carried out by reviewing the design of the pre-disaster disaster planning system and the needs of the Flood Preparedness Community in three districts of Jambi province. A sample of 1000 people was divided into 3 groups. Each group will be completed in accordance with the pre-response system and community needs, then analyzed qualitatively. Meanwhile, to find out the management system design. Obtained preparedness data in the three villages with a total subject of 1000 people that 52.33% did not get information about the disaster or disaster preparedness, 64.6% never made an emergency plan for the family when there was a disaster, 68.67% never prepared emergency equipment (food, water, or emergency supplies), 68.27% had not attended disaster preparedness training in the past year, but only 6.2% had never discussed with neighbors about what to do in the event of a disaster. Based on the results of the research, several stages can be planned in the making of the pre-disaster assessment design as an alternative to minimize losses from disasters, which can then be developed as a disaster plan process and making mitigation in accordance with the needs of each district..

Work engagement is not only a "nice-to-have" but has been shown to be linked to various positive outcomes of work, including its proven financial and behavioural gains. The concern regarding employee engagement is increasing, and organizations of the 21st century are looking for every possible way to develop the culture of employee engagement deliberately. In this context, this research introduces employee engagement as a viable method to encourage organizational productivity and examines how perceptions of specific human resource (HR) practices and organizational identification relate to experiences of employee's work engagement. The study data was collected using standard psychometric tools from 75 mid-level managers working in various organizations. Statistical analysis was performed to answer research questions. The results conveyed the significance of applying encouraging human resource practices and demonstrated the positive effect of organization-al identification (OID) on work engagement. HR practices and OID were found instrumental in positively predicting the significant amount of work engagement. By discovering the relationship between HR practices (conditions that organizations can influence easily), organizational identification, and employee engagement, this study relates to the realistic implementation of measures to improve employee engagement and especially emphasises them. As most companies are searching for ways to promote employee engagement, the latest re-search results are of practical importance to HR executives.
