Brands have always sought to establish relationships with their audiences through marketing and communication: two disciplines that are defined as natural enablers of transformation processes owing to their important role in connecting businesses with the market and consumers. This paper discusses the importance of storytelling as a mythopoetic engine (now amplified by technological developments) that allows brands (profit and non-profit) to use the power of stories to promote social values and to activate processes of change. The first part of the paper presents a formal approach to discussing the narrative phenomenon, and the second part of the paper discusses the use of storytelling in brand communication. The focus is on brands that have introduced social issues into their communication campaigns to strengthen their connection with audiences through the promotion of social values and realities that use story-based strategies to activate sustainable social change.

The digital transformation is permanently changing the government, administration, and society . This process is being intensified by the much-discussed technologies of artificial intelligence, and poses a variety of challenges for parliaments and indirectly for parliamentary studies . Their different dimensions have not been discussed comprehensively so far, although the technological developments affect all parliamentary functions and their premises . This article systematizes and structures the various effects of the age of artificial intelligence on parliamentary democracy . Namely, the conditions of democratic representation change, the innovation-friendly regulation of digital technologies becomes a parliamentary task, parliamentary control has to be adjusted to the use of algorithms and artificial intelligence in government and administration, and possibly, the epistemological and organizational structures of parliamentary work might have to be adapted . This provides starting points for future detailed analyses to adequately capture these processes of change and to accompany them from different disciplinary perspectives .

Contemporary Russian social policy is marked by intensive development of state-public partnership as an important instrument for identifying and responding to social issues, improving quality of social services, protecting rights and freedoms of the Russian citizens. Shouldering some of the state functions on the provision of social services, organization of socially significant events and activities, NPOs are often more efficient and effective, they react faster on social needs and provide population with opportunities to participate in resolution of their problems and change their lives for the better way. The analysis of dynamic characteristics of civil society, fulfilled by the authors on the base of expert evaluations in the three border regions of the Siberian federal district (the Altai region, the Novosibirsk oblast, the Republic of Altai, n = 180), allowed to reveal their structure and relationships with peculiarities of the functioning and interaction with other NPOs and governmental bodies at different levels. Our findings suggest that processes in civil society are strongly interconnected, and that the assessment of their actual state and dynamics is very subjective, affected by professional experience and peculiarities of expert organization.

This chapter considers the lack of knowledge by both non-profit and for-profit organizations in building business models and developing global managerial strategies; as well as, considers the need for organizations to understand open transformation of organizational structure with an autonomous mindset of each stakeholder and unification of the organizational system. The focus of perspectives points to what is needed to understand behavior stemming from the culture of the organization and what it takes to structure or restructure its culture to fit with the 21st century's demands and growing global perspectives. Explanations are given as to how some theories and disciplines need to band together to bring out deeper meanings of phenomena to address managerial and leadership strategies. There are six figures and one table highlighting developmental processes of successful organizational systems. These will be used as roadmaps in developing on-going constructs to navigate assessments, training, and transformation processes of an organization.

Keeping momentum and ultimately reaching sustainability is one of the challenges faced by practitioners and scholars in the field of social transformation. Sustaining the change accomplished is a critical factor in enacting social transformation; this chapter addresses this matter. For social change to be sustained there needs to be a combination of approaches from capacity building in the actors involved to institutional and structural support. This can be achieved by developing support networks that mutually share the attributes needed for continued success. In this chapter, the authors explore how building and mapping out networks from the lens of sustainability is pivotal, and how this contributes to growing their effectiveness. Moreover, building and further developing what Dr. Fisher-Yoshida calls communities of practice, is part of the approach they suggest as they engage with social transformation processes that can be sustained both in space and in time.

Research shows that individuals with liberal and conservative ideological orientations display different value positions concerning the acceptance of social change and inequality. Research also links the expression of different values to a number of biological factors, including heredity. In light of these biological influences, I investigate whether differences in social values associated with liberal and conservative ideologies reflect alternative strategies to maximize returns from social interactions. Using an American sample of Democrats and Republicans, I test whether information about shared and unshared social values in the form of implicit social attitudes have a disproportionate effect on the willingness of Democrats and Republicans to trust an anonymous social partner. I find evidence that knowledge of shared values significantly increases levels of trust among Democrats but not Republicans. I further find that knowledge of unshared values significantly decreases trust among Republicans but not Democrats. These findings are consistent with studies indicating that differences in ideological orientation are linked to differences in cognition and decision-making.
