This present study aims at identifying the role of Islamic boarding schools as da’wah  institution. Islamic boarding schools in fact provided the process of teaching, educating, and exemplaring values every second and minute and every hour of the clerics to his students. Educational in islamic boarding school aims to forge themselves into an independent person and to develop a spirit of togetherness, which includes the attitude of mutual assistance, solidarity and brotherhood among the students. In terms of individual character development, schools teach thrift and simple life away from the consumptive nature. The role of Islamic boarding schools was not only as educational institutions but also it took a role as a religious institution operated as a basis in the process of changing social in society. In there, the basics of science are taught for dakwah, so the students have to do da’wah when they will enter to the society. Thus, Islamic boarding schools as an Islamic educational institution owned by the community is really potential for the Establishing of man power, potential for the creation of intelligence and well-being of the nation. Not a bit of Dakwah that could be done through schools, good Dakwah that convey the teachings of Islam, as well as preaching about the life and development of the Ummah.

The development plan of the Islamic Boarding School in the middle of the times it is not impossible to do. As the oldest educational institutions in Indonesia, Islamic Boarding School is an educational institution that is civilized. The development of Islamic boarding school can be done through two aspects; boarding school as an educational unit and boarding school as a place of education units. Islamic Boarding School as an educational unit in the form of Muaddalah Islamic Boarding School while boarding school as a place of education unit is a main unit of doing other educational institutions. Development of the Islamic Boarding School can also be developed through the role of Islamic Boarding Schools that do not merely act as an educational institution, but also serves as a social institutions and economic institutions of society.

Personal hygiene is one's effort to maintain cleanliness and health to obtain physical and psychological well-being. As many as 50% of students in Islamic boarding schools experience diseases related to personal hygiene including scabies and pediculosis capitis. Poskestren is a manifestation of community-based health efforts within the boarding school environment, with principles from, by and for pesantren residents, which prioritizes promotive and preventive services without neglecting the curative and rehabilitative arrangements with the development of local puskesmas. Thus the poskestren is one of the references in health development in Islamic boarding schools which should be able to overcome health problems. However, with the presence of the boarding school health post, diseases related to personal hygiene in Islamic Boarding School X, Bantul Regency have yet to be completely resolved. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between students' perceptions of the role of the boarding school health post with the personal hygiene of students in Islamic Boarding School X, Bantul Regency. This study uses an observational analytic method with a cross-sectional approach. The population of this study were all 56 students living in Islamic Boarding Schools X and the sampling technique used was total sampling. Respondents who met the criteria totalled 51 people. Data were analyzed by the Chi-square test. Statistical test results show that there was a relationship between promotive efforts with the application of students personal hygiene (ρ = 0,000) and there is no relationship between preventive efforts (ρ = 1,000), curative (ρ = 1,000), and rehabilitative (0.840) with the application of santri personal hygiene. There was a relationship between perception about the role of poskestren promotive efforts with the implementation of personal hygiene of students and there was no relationship between perception of the role of health post boarding school with the application of personal hygiene of students in Boarding school  X, Bantul Regency

Discussion about the role of boarding schools in the formationand development of education, in particular the Islamiceducation, in Indonesia hardly needs to be debated and doubt.Long before Indonesia became independent, the institutions leadby the scholars (kyai) is present in the Earth. History shows thatthe boarding school is not only able to keep resistance fromexposure to the times, but also can take care of its developmentwhich continues to increase over time. According to existing data,the institution was first established, especially in Java, in the 15thcentury by Maulana Malik Ibrahim (one of the oldest walisongo)and then developed by the other walisongo. At the end of the 19thcentury, the number of boarding school in Java developed reaches300 boarding school, and based on the Notes Database boardingschools of ministry of religion RI, the number of boarding schoolsthe year 2018, this amounts to about 21,321. The resistance andsustainable development of the boarding schools that certainlycould not be released from the academic tradition developedwhich has a pretty strong distinction. One of them is the patternof his education is transformative. It makes boarding school isnot simply a religious institution that merely engaged in theworld of religious education for the students, but at the sametime have the concern and active role of the community in jointlyempower themselves. These values also did not escape from Al-Falah boarding school Somolangu, Kebumen. It will also makeboarding school can be instrumental in giving a concretecontribution for global life.

The aim of the article is to show the sociological elements in the education process that are present in Korczak’s pedagogy, both in its scientific form as well as in his fiction aimed directly at children. Therefore, society with its educational institutions (family, school, boarding school) is recognized in this pedagogy as an important sphere of symbolic references and educational influences. The key role of society (as the most important educational institution) in shaping pupils is present in commonly known works on the sociology of upbringing (including Florian Znaniecki or Józef Chałasiński), while sociological threads in Korczak’s pedagogy have not been a popular topic of separate analysis so far, apart from one monograph devoted to the subject. Therefore, this topic requires in-depth analyses and afterthought. Janusz Korczak emphasizes the role of society in a child’s life, preparing them primarily for participation in social relations, through diverse forms of group life at school, whose most important achievement is the institution of student self-government. It is thus a bridge between student-oriented education and the traditional pedagogical message, involving the transmission of the requirements of specific social roles.

Pondok Pesantren is one of the oldest educational institutions in Indonesia. The significance of the kiai's role in the boarding school is directly proportional to his leadership in managing and directing the entire community in his cottage, especially the students and their influence in society. While the model in leading his Islamic boarding school, each kiai has his own method for advancing his pesantren. This happened because of the kiai's focus on developing his boarding school and the environmental conditions of the surrounding community. This article was describe how the leadership role of kiai in Islamic boarding schools in developing the institutions. This research  was descriptive research methods with a qualitative research approach. The main finding in the researcher was the figure of a kiai with his charismatic character that able to have a positive effect in the development of the Islamic boarding schools. Islamic boarding school is the oldest educational institution by the nation that participated in creating literate society. In the midst of this globalization era, Islamic boarding schools maintain both classical and modern education and teaching systems. In educational institutions need to pay attention to the quality management of education in order to improve and develop educational institutions for the future. The reality that we get in guaranteeing the quality of education in Islamic boarding schools is that there are many obstacles that must be resolved. With this the author intends to examine several management systems or quality management based on Islamic boarding schools. This study used qualitative research methods. This research is specifically directed towards descriptive qualitative research design. Trying to solve the problem based on the data concerned with the concept of quality management based on Islamic boarding school. The concept that has been prepared in the management of education quality in Islamic boarding schools is oriented to improving the quality of education by referring to the values ​​of Islamic boarding schools / Islamic society that have been entrenched among Indonesian people, by using tools, techniques and philosophies to create quality education in order to achieve educational goals.

This present study aims at identifying the role of Islamic boarding schools as Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia. This study employed a qualitative approach and literature study method. Based on the results of the study, Islamic boarding schools in fact provided the process of teaching, educating, developing, and spreading the religion of Islam. In relation to the objectives of Islamic boarding schools, it in principle aims to develop Islamic personality, specifically the personality that put more concern on the believing and consciousness of Allah, noble character, piety, usefulness and loyalty to the community, and being a custodian of all humankind (khadim al-ummaħ). The role of Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia was not only as educational institutions but also it took a role as a religious institution operated as a basis against any kind of colonialism, as knowledge institutions, research institutions, training institutions, and community development institutions, and cultural bonds. Keywords: Islamic Boarding Schools, Islamic Educational Institutions, IndonesiaAbstrakTujuan pembahasan ini untuk mengetahui peran pondok pesantren sebagai lembaga pendidikan Islam di Indonesia. Pembahasan ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode studi literatur. Berdasarkan hasil pembahasan, pondok pesantren merupakan lembaga pendidikan Islam yang memberikan pengajaran, pendidikan, pembinaan dan menyebarkan agama Islam. Tujuan pendidikan pesantren adalah dalam rangka membina kepribadian Islami, yaitu kepribadian yang beriman dan bertakwa kepada Allah Subḥānahu Wa Ta’ālâ, berakhlak mulia, bermanfaat dan berkhidmat kepada masyarakat dengan menjadi pelayan umat (khadim al-ummaħ). Peran pondok pesantren di Indonesia bukan hanya sebagai lembaga pendidikan tetapi berperan juga sebagai lembaga keagamaan yang menjadi basis perlawanan terhadap segala bentuk penjajahan, lembaga keilmuan, lembaga penelitian, lembaga pelatihan, dan lembaga pengembangan masyarakat sekaligus menjadi simpul budaya.Kata Kunci: Pondok Pesantren, Lembaga Pendidikan Islam, Indonesia

Islamic boarding schools are one of the educational institutions that are in great demand by many Muslims in Indonesia starting from the middle to lower classes of society to middle and upper society. The role of the pesantren in educating the younger generations in the millennial era has quite a lot of impact. The current phenomenon is that many education systems only prioritize school education in the classroom without understanding character education. One of the pesantren which is quite long and in demand and produces many alumni who are engaged in government and professional fields is Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor (PMDG). PMDG is Islamic boarding schools which have considerable domestic and foreign cooperation. This pattern of diplomacy and cooperation will have an impact on the existence of PMDG in pesantren education. In globalization era, diplomacy involves not only the state but also non-state actors. Diplomacy Line 5 (Educational Pathway) have a main goal to advancing the education. Educational institution can influence the thinking of learners, moreover it can be seen that the cooperation carried out by the pesantren educational institutions are many from foreign institutions and even students who demand knowledge from many other countries.

Abstract Pesantren or as usually assosiated to an Islamic boarding school is one kind of typical Indonesian Islamic education established by the community. In the process, most of the islamic boarding school seeks to respond to the demands of the times by modernizing its institution by establishing formal educational institutions ranging from pre-schools to higher education level. Besides, several islamic boarding schools try to remain its original characteristics as islamic educational institutions that focuses on tafaqquh fi al-din (religion deepening), which teaches the students how to understand the content of yellow book. Islamic boarding schools that seeks to combine the two dimension, while maintaining its identity as an educational institution that tafaqquh fi al-din but on the other hand also adopted the formal education system, especially higher education is then popularly known as integrated boarding school. This study was interesting to get further investigation in order to analyze and find the concepts and models of management of integrated educational between islamic boarding school and college and the implications for improving the quality of its graduates. This study used a qualitative approach with multisite study as its research design. Finally, the study concluded that the concept of integrated education initiated by Ma'had Dalwa Bangil and Pondok Ngalah Purwosari consist of two different concepts, namely "the concept of systemic integration" that defined as an idea that want to integrate all components of the education system in both institutions, by integrated the educators, learners, curriculum, and the building or other facilities. The second concept is "organic integration”, it is about the idea that want to integrate the spiritualistic value inside the pesantren education and the values of college intellectuals. The concept of integrated education both systemic and organic has been implemented in two models: "structural model" and "cultural model". Structural model is a model that try to synthesizes boarding institution's organizational structure, while the cultural model is done by creating a culture in the two institutions that show balanced condition between spirituality and intellectuality. The two models have improved the quality of graduates at both institutions. Keywords: Integrated Education, Pesantren, Campus, Improving The Quality of Graduates   ملخص الباسانترين أو المعاهد الإسلامية هي نوع من التعليم الإسلامي الإندونيسي الذي أنشأها المجتمع. في العملية ، تحاول معظم المعاهد الإسلامية الاستجابة لمطالب العصر بتحديث مؤسساتها من خلال إنشاء مؤسسات تعليمية رسمية تتراوح ما بين مرحلة ما قبل المدرسة PAUD إلى التعليم العالي. بالإضافة إلى ذلك ، تحاول بعض المعاهد الإسلامية الاحتفاظ بخصائصها الأصلية كمؤسسات تعليمية إسلامية تركز على التفقه فى الدين أو تعميق الدين ، والذي يعلم الطلاب كيفية فهم محتويات الكتب الصفراء. المهاهد الإسلامية التي تحاول الجمع بين البعدين ، مع الحفظ على هويتها كمؤسسات تعليمية هي "التفقه فى الدين" ولكن من ناحية أخرى تتبنى نظام التعليم الرسمي ، وخاصة التعليم العالي الذي عرف فيما بعد بمعاهد إسلامية متكاملة. هذا البحث للاهتمام على حصول من التحقيقات لتحليل وإيجاد مفاهيم ونماذج لإدارة التعليم المتكامل بين المعاهد الإسلامية ومؤسسات التعليم العالي الإسلامية وانعكاساتها على تحسين جودة الخريجين. تستخدم هذه الدراسة نهجًا نوعيًا مع دراسات متعددة كتصميم بحثه. وأخيراً ، خلص البحث إلى أن مفهوم التعليم المتكامل الذي ابتكره معهد دالوى بانجيل ومعهد عالاه بورواساري يتكون من مفهومين مختلفين هما "مفهوم التكامل المنهجي" الذي يعرف بأنه الفكرة التي تريد دمج جميع مكونات التعليم. نظم في كلا المؤسستين ، من خلال دمج المعلمين والطلاب والمناهج الدراسية والمباني أو غيرها من المرافق. المفهوم الثاني هو "التكامل العضوي" ، والذي يدور حول الأفكار التي ترغب في دمج القيم الروحية في التعليم المعهدي والقيم الفكرية للتعليم العالي. تم تنفيذ مفهوم التعليم المنهجي والعضوي المتكامل في نموذجين: "النماذج الهيكلية" و "النماذج الثقافية". النموذج الهيكلي هو نموذج يحاول تجميع البنية التنظيمية للمؤسسات المعهدية ، بينما يتم تنفيذ نموذج ثقافي من خلال خلق ثقافة في مؤسستين تظهر حالة متوازنة بين الروحانية والمثقفين. وقد أحسن كلا النموذجين جودة الخريجين في كلا المؤسستين. مفتاح الكلمات: التعليم المتكاملى ، المعهد الإسلامي ، الجامعة ، تحسين جودة الخريجين Abstract Pesantren atau yang biasa diasosiasikan dengan pondok pesantren adalah salah satu jenis pendidikan Islam khas Indonesia yang didirikan oleh masyarakat. Dalam prosesnya, sebagian besar pondok pesantren berupaya merespons tuntutan zaman dengan memodernisasi lembaganya dengan mendirikan lembaga pendidikan formal mulai dari pra-sekolah hingga tingkat pendidikan tinggi. Selain itu, beberapa pondok pesantren mencoba untuk tetap karakteristik aslinya sebagai lembaga pendidikan Islam yang berfokus pada tafaqquh fi al-din (pendalaman agama), yang mengajarkan siswa bagaimana memahami isi buku kuning. Pesantren yang berupaya menggabungkan dua dimensi, sambil mempertahankan identitasnya sebagai lembaga pendidikan yang tafaqquh fi al-din tetapi di sisi lain juga mengadopsi sistem pendidikan formal, khususnya pendidikan tinggi yang kemudian dikenal dengan sebutan pondok pesantren terintegrasi. Penelitian ini menarik untuk mendapatkan investigasi lebih lanjut untuk menganalisis dan menemukan konsep dan model manajemen pendidikan terintegrasi antara pondok pesantren dan perguruan tinggi Islam serta implikasinya untuk meningkatkan kualitas lulusannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi multisite sebagai desain penelitiannya. Akhirnya, penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa konsep pendidikan terintegrasi yang diprakarsai oleh Ma'had Dalwa Bangil dan Pondok Ngalah Purwosari terdiri dari dua konsep yang berbeda, yaitu "konsep integrasi sistemik" yang didefinisikan sebagai gagasan yang ingin mengintegrasikan semua komponen pendidikan. sistem di kedua lembaga, dengan mengintegrasikan para pendidik, peserta didik, kurikulum, dan bangunan atau fasilitas lainnya. Konsep kedua adalah "integrasi organik", yaitu tentang gagasan yang ingin mengintegrasikan nilai spiritual dalam pendidikan pesantren dan nilai-nilai intelektual perguruan tinggi. Konsep pendidikan terintegrasi baik sistemik dan organik telah diimplementasikan dalam dua model: "model struktural"dan" model budaya ". Model struktural adalah model yang mencoba mensintesis struktur organisasi lembaga asrama, sedangkan model budaya dilakukan dengan menciptakan budaya di dua lembaga yang menunjukkan kondisi yang seimbang antara spiritualitas dan intelektual. The development of the economic potential of Islamic boarding schools can have a positive impact on improving the national economy. As an educational institution, Islamic boarding schools have the potential of human resources which are also large for high fighting ability, which supports accompanied by capabilities that become a great potential that can become the basis of Indonesia's new economic flows through strengthening boarding schools (kopontren). This paper aims to examine the ecosystems in Islamic boarding schools which have to do with changes in the lifestyle of its members to apply halal values. The research using this qualitative descriptive method. Based on the results of the analysis, the role of kopontren as the driving force of the boarding school is an important diversion as a determinant of how to turn on the halal value chain in every part of the environment in the Islamic boarding school ecosystem with halal values in production, distribution for consumption needs goods or services.
