This study aimed at analyzing the internal environment factors and their impact on organizational excellence in the public universities in southern Jordan from the point of view of the workers. To achieve the objectives of the study, a questionnaire was developed to cover the study variables. The study was conducted on a community consisting of (4) public universities distributed in the southern governorates: Mu'tah University, Tafila Technical University, Al Hussein Bin Talal University, the University of Jordan-Aqaba Branch. Administrative employees at the middle administrative levels reached (301). The researcher conducted a comprehensive survey of the study community through using the analytical descriptive statistic methods, by using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The study reached a number of results, most important are: The general arithmetic mean of the respondents' perceptions of the dimensions of the internal environment factors in public universities in southern Jordan has reached a medium rating. Also, the general arithmetic mean of the respondents' perceptions of the dimensions of organizational excellence in the public universities in southern Jordan reached a medium rating. Among other results, there is a statistically significant positive relationship between the independent variable (internal environment factors), and its different dimensions and the dependent variable (organizational excellence) and its different dimensions. In light of the results of the study, the study recommended a number of recommendations, most important are: the necessity of preparing a working environment and its factors and the appropriate conditions that increase the organizational excellence, paying attention to developing the capabilities of the employees and training them according to studied scientific programs as well as the need to increase the volume of expenditure on research and development activities, because spending on such activities has become an investment spending.

The study aimed at identifying the degree of applying the visual management strategies and the obstacles of applying them in the public universities in Riyadh region in light of the vision of the Kingdom in 2030. In addition, it aimed at identifying the statistical significance differences on the implementation of the visual management strategies from the point of view of department heads according to the variables of gender, Years of service). The researcher followed the descriptive approach. The study community is composed of all department directors at the public universities in Riyadh, specifically King Saud University, Princess Norah Bint Abdul Rahman University, and Saudi Electronic University. The sample of the study was limited to a randomly selected sample of 137 department heads in the public universities under study. The tool consisted of a two-pronged questionnaire, namely the degree of application of the visual management strategies. It includes three sub-axes (rules of operation, disinfection, and elimination of waste), the second axis: obstacles to the implementation of visual management strategies. The results of the study came out with a number of results, the most important of which were: After the implementation of the business rules strategy, a total average of (3.74 of 5) was achieved with a grade of (large), followed by the clearance strategy with an average of (3.61 of 5) (3.53). The results indicated that there were statistically significant differences between the respondents' responses to the implementation of the visual management strategies of the heads of departments In the universities in question are due to the variables (gender, female favor, In addition to the number of years of experience and for the benefit of their experience 5 years than less. In addition, there were statistically significant differences between the responses of the sample members on the obstacles of visual administration in the heads of departments at King Saud University, Princess Nora University, In the Riyadh region in view of the vision of the Kingdom in 2030 due to the gender variable. And for the benefit of males. There were no statistically significant differences between the responses of the sample members on the obstacles of visual administration in the heads of departments due to the variable (years of experience, qualification). In the light of the results, a set of recommendations and proposals were presented to activate the implementation of the visual management strategies in the public universities in Riyadh and other Saudi universities in light of the vision of the Kingdom in 2030.

This study aimed at analyzing the governance and its impact on the organizational intelligence from the point of view of employees of the Social Security Corporation (SSC) in Jordan.To achieve the objectives of the study, a questionnaire was developed covering the study's variables. The questionnaire was distributed to the entire community of the study, which had 191 managers, deputy directors, heads of department, heads of division as well as employees.The study used analytical descriptive statistical methods, using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS).The study reached a number of results, the most important are the following: The general arithmetic mean of the respondents 'perceptions of the dimensions of governance in the SSC came at a medium rating.Also, the general arithmetic mean of the respondents' perceptions of the dimensions of the organizational intelligence in the SSC came at a medium rating. And, there is a statistically significant relationship between the independent variable (governance) and its different dimensions and the dependent variable (organizational intelligence) and its different dimensions.In light of these results, the study recommended a number of recommendations, the most important are: establishing a governance system that is declared to all parties concerned to implement it, and clarifies the duties and responsibilities of each employee in the corporation.Another recommendation is continuing to develop the capabilities that enhance the company's abilities of sensing and responding because of its positive impact on boosting the organizational intelligence.

The effects of large wood (LW) presence in streams on river ecology and morphology are becoming widely researched and nowadays their ecological benefits are undisputed. Yet LW presence in most Swiss plateau streams is poor mainly due to anthropological pressure on river ecosystems. The use of anchored, engineered LW structures under various forms in stream restoration projects is now state of the art. However, binding benchmarks for the equivalent naturally occurring instream LW quantities and complex LW structures do not yet exist. Therefore, hydraulic engineers often find themselves in a conflict between acceptable instream LW quantities for flood protection, quantities desirable from an ecological point of view and, last but not least, quantities accepted by the public based on the current ideologies of landscape design. In the first section, this paper treats the complexity of defining benchmarks for LW quantities in restoration projects. In the second section, we provide a qualitative practical insight into relevant questions when planning engineered LW structures, such as placement, anchoring, naturalness, and effectiveness from a hydraulic engineer’s point of view. The third part presents three examples of restoration projects with different dimensions where various engineered LW structures with different outcomes were built and introduced into active streams. Finally, the conclusion provides further possible measures to retain LW in streams and to restore more natural LW dynamics in rivers.

The study aimed at defining the reality of the supervisory activities for the educational supervisors from the point of view of the public schools principals in Aqaba city - Jordan. To achieve the study purposes the researcher used the descriptive methodology survey due to its appropriateness for the purposes of the study. The study instrument was built and it contained four domains and was applied on the study sample which consisted of (22) principal(male &Female).The study results indicated that the reality of the educational supervisors practices for supervisory activities from the point of view of the public schools principals obtained an overall arithmetic mean of (3.80) with a high degree. However, on the secondary areas level the human relationships was ranked first with an arithmetic mean of (4.11) which was very high; in the second rank came the field of curriculum and text books with arithmetic mean of(3.98) which was high also; the third rank came the domain of learning and teaching with an arithmetic mean of (3.75) which was also high and in the last rank came the domain of school administration with an arithmetic mean of (3.5) which was medium. The results of the study indicated that there are no differences between the means of the educational supervisors’ practices for supervisory activities in terms of (sex, qualifications, management experience years). In the light of the study results a number of recommendations were proposed.

The definition of the success of research projects implemented at public universities is far from being unequivocal. The success of a research project has to be in line with both the public university’s and the funding institution’s policies, as well as with the personal objectives and ambitions of the researchers. Once the success definition for the research project has been determined, the strategy of implementation must be defined. The omission of this step may result in effort lost (public money, time, enthusiasm, etc.) after being directed toward objectives which do not fit with either the public university’s or the funding agency’s policies, nor with the researchers’ personal objectives. This paper discusses this problem and proposes a model where simulation is used to choose the project strategy that best fits the selected research project success definition in the context of the policy of a given public university, the preferences of its researchers, and the policy of the funding agencies. The model is illustrated by means of a case study—a real world research project implemented at a public university in a European country, where the policy of subsidizing public universities has been changing both very regularly and in a highly unpredictable manner. It is shown how various project strategies can lead to multiple project outcomes, which are then evaluated in different ways depending on the point of view of public university policy or of the researchers, the funding agencies, and/or society. The main conclusion is that applying simulation to a research project before it starts may contribute significantly to the optimization of time, effort, and resource usage with the objective of project success maximization in the context of public university policy and the objectives of the researchers.

This paper examines the effects of market-led approach Nigeria universities management concept deregulation from a market-led point of view to evaluate its effect on the management of university education in Nigeria. From many debates and argument put forward on the discussion of deregulation, it is very clear that deregulation policy was introduced for the purpose of enhancing productivities of public sectors or government-owned establishment. The establishment of deregulation policy has created opportunities for different individuals and groups to participate or take ownership of some public sectors in the quest for providing better services and making profits.  However, widens the gap in knowledge about whether or not taking ownership of public sector business has generated profit or not. This paper is desk research and intends to review issues unturned in the past literature on how deregulation has now suddenly become a market-led approach to the Nigerian Universities Management. The paper revealed that Nigerians are keen on getting the best quality education irrespective of how the education systems are put up to be achieved. Likewise, the government has not been able to deregulate any of the public universities they owned rather university provisions have been commercialized and extended to private individuals.

The paper investigated the perceived influence of students’ demographic variables on their access to financial aids in public Universities in Rivers State, Nigeria. Six questions were formulated to guide the study and five hypotheses tested at 0.05 level of significance. The design adopted for the study was an analytical survey. The population of the study included 78, 216 students (34,997 male and 43,219 female) in the three public Universities in Rivers State. The sample of the study covered 791 students (Male= 395 and Female= 396) selected through the random sampling technique while Taro Yamane method of sample size determination was used for determining the sample size. The instruments used for collecting responses from students were questionnaire and a ten items interview schedule. The research questions were answered using frequency, percentage and cumulative percentage. Findings of the study revealed that students’ demographic variables have an influence on their access to financial aids in public Universities in Rivers State, Nigeria. The implication of this is that the government’s expenditure on education will continue to increase in the absence of these alternative financial aids in the public Universities in Rivers State, Nigeria.

Strategic innovation is a strategic tool that can be used to align the institution’s resources and capabilities with opportunities in the external environment in order to enhance survival and long term success of the organization.  Innovation promotes use of technology consequently impacting positively on service delivery. Public universities reforms have been a necessary and on-going policy objective for the Government of Kenya. Innovation as one of the approaches to the reforms is intended to induce an overhaul the public university system to better serve the needs of both government and the citizens with improved delivery of public services. In Kenya technology in public institutions has not been effectively used to enhance service delivery more so institutions where technology use has been embraced, its impact on service delivery has not been assessed effectively. This study applied the institutional theory, diffusion of innovation theory and stakeholders theory of management to determine how strategic innovation at Kenyatta University impacts on service delivery. The general objective of this study therefore was to determine the effect of strategic innovation on service delivery in Kenyatta University. Specific objectives included finding out the influence of eLearning, online student registration and use of e-messaging services on service delivery in Kenyatta University. A population of 72,000 students admitted to Kenyatta University was used from which random sampling was conducted to a sample of 200 students using Nassiuma’s formula. Data was collected by disbursing physically the questionnaires to the students. Descriptive and regression analysis was conducted using SPSS 22 to provide findings on the study. The study conducted a multiple regression analysis to estimate the model for the study. The study had a coefficient of correlation R of 0.912 an indication of strong of correlation between the variables and a coefficient of adjusted R2 was 0.814.This means that there was a significant correlations between the variables and service delivery at Kenyatta University however other factors that are not considered in the research paper contribute approximately 18.6% of the service delivery at Kenyatta University. Therefore, a very extensive further research is highly required to investigate and come up with other factors of the viability to service delivery at Kenyatta University. The study concluded that the strategic innovation of the public universities ranges from the products and services offered and is determined by the technology that is revolutionizing the current global world and has improved the service delivery at Kenyatta University. A strategic innovation brings a lot of advantages and has a great impact on human and business daily life. Therefore, strategic innovation development is the best choice in helping higher institution of learning stay on track.
