The paper presents analyses results of PRT vehicle driveability in a ¼ scale conducted with the application of a simulation model for a straight line driving conditions and when driving on a curve. The results of the present work will be used in the analysis of a physical motion model in a laboratory stand reflecting a railway system of the stand. The paper discusses the first stage of research in the process of virtual pre-prototyping which is to be finalized with the construction of a non-commercial vehicle prototype. In the construction of the simulation model, particular attention has been paid to three issues. First of all, a correct description of design features connected with the lack of so called centring mechanism – and not profiled tyred wheels independently embedded in the axes of the set. Secondly, a proper description of a turning mechanism with the use of a leading rollers system alongside the rail edge. Thirdly, the use of linear motor for the vehicle drive. The simulation model has been developed within MBS environment. For the description of tyred wheels, the library of TNO Delft Tyre has been used. Vehicle motion stability has been tested on the straight and curved track sections. The research has been financed within the framework of ECO mobility project.

This chapter considers whether it is worthwhile and useful to enrich agent based spatial simulation studies in criminology with a real geographical background, such as the map of a real city? Using modern GIS tools, such an enterprise is in principle quite feasible, but we argue that in many cases this course is not only not producing more interesting results, but in fact may well be detrimental for the real reason of doing criminal simulation studies, which is understanding the underlying rules. The argument is first outlined in general, and then illustrated in the context of a given example of the ThESE perceptual deterrence simulation model (Van Baal, 2004), a model that actually is using a simple checkerboard as its spatial backcloth.

Firstly mechanical model of hydraulic powerplant is established. Then mathematical model of hydraulic powerplant mount is established based on the analysis of mechanical model. And the simulation model is established in Matlab/Simulink. The results of simulation are attained by calculation. On the basis of aforementioned results, the analysis is made. Finally, this paper makes a summary and outlook.

The pneumatic ABS pressure regulator of commercial vehicle is submitted to study in this paper. Its structure and operating principle are introduced, and a simulation model based on the AMESim is established on the basis of its mathematical model. Then the static characteristics and dynamic characteristics are researched by simulation model and the characteristic curves are compared with experimental data for the verification. The results show that simulation curves and experiment curves are in good agreement, which can be tolerated in the engineering.

A dynamic comprehensive simulation model is constructed to evaluate the economic and environmental impact of reclaimed water utilization. One objective function and three sub-model is consisted the simulation model. Lingo software is used to solve this model. The simulation result shows that the utilization of reclaimed water is a feasible approach to the achievement of the water pollutant reduction and economic development.

In order to evaluate the impact of different warhead shapes on the damage efficiency of semi armour piercing warhead effectively, four common semi armour piercing warhead models are established based on Solidworks, and the deck model is established with reference to the deck data of an aircraft carrier. And then the material setting and grid division are carried out based on Ansys so as to construct the explicit dynamic simulation model. The credibility of the model is verified based on the residual velocity theory after the model being established. Finally, based on the established model, the simulation research on the influence of warhead shape on vertical armour piercing ability is carried out. The results show that under the same velocity, the armour piercing ability of sharp oval and conical warheads are better and their residual velocity are higher.

Abstract The article describes an approach to the development of a simulation model of an electric transport traction network, taking into account the change in the resistance of the contact wire when the vehicle is moving. The advantage of the model is that it is executed using the building blocks of Simulink, visually reflects the topology of the traction network, and can be used for modeling both trolleybus and rail transport networks. As the initial data for the model, both standardized drive cycles and experimentally obtained modes of vehicle motion can be used.

In terms of simulation research, it is important to simulate real conditions as precisely as possible. This type of approach makes it possible to minimize the error in the obtained results. The dynamics of acceleration is one of the most important factors having a direct impact on fuel consumption and exhaust emissions from vehicles. The work was carried out with the use of PTV Vissim microscopic vehicle motion simulation software. The considerations were carried out on theoretical acceleration profiles with different dynamics values and the actual character of acceleration, recorded during road tests. The simulations were carried out for a car powered by spark-ignition and compression-ignition engines. The research showed that the calibration of the acceleration character of the vehicle in simulation tests may result in significant differences in obtained results of exhaust emissions.

AbstractThe paper presents dynamical models of controlling voltage and frequency of ship’s electric supply set. The simulation model of synchronous generator, implemented in Matlab/Simulink, was described. For the developed simulation model, developed control systems using fuzzy controllers type P and PD were presented. Simulation research for resistance, inductive and capacitive loads were carried out for these regulators. Sample results of simulation tests are presented in the form of voltage waveforms at the output of the generator and rotational speed of the internal combustion engine for various load conditions. The conducted tests allow to assess the quality of the control process using fuzzy controllers and thus ensure the selection of the optimal solution.

The working principle and process of the hydraulic support column system is introduced at first. The simulation model of the column system is established in the software of AMESim, and the parameters of the model are set according to the actual working conditions. The simulation curves of each working procedure are obtained, and the simulation results are analyzed. The conclusions will be essential references for the research on the entire support hydraulic system.
