The high cost of assembling laboratories for higher education is a challenge when there is a contingency of resources. An alternative to overcome the high cost in the development of the basic structures of the teaching laboratories, is the designing and implementation of laboratory workbenches, built with the help of teachers, technicians and university students. In this work will be approached the project of didactic workbenches for the laboratory of electrical installations, capable of attending the most varied menus, as well as courses such as Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture and Urbanism, among others. Analyzing from a financial point of view, there is an economy above 90%, compared to commercial didactic workbenches in market. In addition, taking into account the teaching-learning aspect of the students, the benefits are greater, since the very design, design and construction of the benches represent an important form of practical learning. In addition, the workbench aims to increase the degree of complexity of the tasks compared to the existing equipment in the market, since it encompasses more concepts. For the acquisition of materials, it is suggested the use of institutional resources or partnership with public and private companies.

The United Nations (UN) identifies four key elements as agents for change and for addressing societal challenges: education, research, innovation and leadership. The use of technology, from a pedagogical and organizational point of view, in higher education institutions has brought about new challenges. The integration of them in the teaching–learning processes has experienced a great evolution, giving way to a digital transformation and the acquisition of new skills and knowledge, thus pointing towards quality education within the framework of sustainable development objectives. This document aims to describe and analyze the ways in which seven higher education institutions, three in Spain and four in Mexico, have taken up the challenge of adopting technologies and applying them to the educational process. To this end, in-depth interviews and direct observations were carried out. The results point to three dimensions: technological, pedagogical and organizational, which shed light on the different factors that influence the choice and availability of the use of technologies. The results indicate that contextual factors play a determinant role in the ability of an institution to profit from technologies to aid the educational process and guarantee its quality.

The global challenges that humanity is facing today pose the task of higher education to prepare a specialist with fundamental training and the ability to learn throughout life. Fundamentalization of education is not possible without the formation of students' conceptual understanding of the material studied. This problem is quite relevant in the study of mathematics due to the specific nature of this science. The researchers' lack of a unified point of view in determining the essence of the conceptual understanding of mathematics does not allow practitioners to develop tools for assessing the level of conceptual understanding among university students. The purpose the article is to identify and formulate the essential characteristics and pedagogical conditions for the formation of a conceptual understanding of mathematics, as well as to explore the possibilities and effectiveness of the integration of computer modeling as an instrument of forming a conceptual understanding in the process of teaching probability theory to students of technical universities. The study showed that a computer workshop, developed based on identified pedagogical conditions and taking into account the didactic capabilities of ICT in the educational process, is an effective means of developing conceptual understanding when studying a course in probability theory. Students whose curriculum included a workshop with elements of computer modeling have a more excellent knowledge of methodologically significant knowledge and the ability to relate previously learned material to new problems.

Student satisfaction is an outcome of the insight of service quality provided by the university. Government of Bangladesh introduces private universities in 1992 because of huge demand in higher education. Currently, there are 103 private universities, forty-three public universities and three international universities in Bangladesh. But it is a matter of sorrow that, universities are increasing day by day but the qualities of universities are not satisfactory. This study is a comparative study conducted on two universities (one is Rangamati Science and Technology University (public) and another one is Premier University (private). The study was pointed out academic services in the private and the public universities. Based on the review of literature a questionnaire was developed and it was distributed among 120 students. The total 120 respondents have been drawn probabilistically from 2 universities. Descriptive analysis, factor analysis have been used to analyze the data and to draw the findings. It has been found that satisfaction level of the private university students is not up to the mark. Finally, few suggestions have made to increase satisfaction of the university students in Bangladesh. As time passes on, machines are becoming more and more complex, fast-processing and intelligent. Being exactly like humans deducting, inferring and making decisions is still away, however some remarkable gains in the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques and machine learning have been recently recorded. Therefore, the current study seeks to examine strategies for effectively applying artificial intelligence (AI) applications to teach/learn English according to the university students’ point of view. The study adopts the analytical descriptive approach in order to study and analyze the literature, to describe AI and the strategies of its employment for teaching/learning English. A 40-item questionnaire was used. It covers the following fields: AI strategies and its suitable applications for teaching/learning English, the effectiveness of these applications, their practical use, and the requirements for using them in the fields of teaching/learning English. Measuring the validity and reliability of the questionnaire revealed a Cronbach’s alpha of 0.931. The study sample consisted of 44 randomly selected male students from the English language stream at Northern Border University. A set of study instruments was applied. The results revealed a group of strategies suitable for employing AI for teaching/learning English. The results also indicated a very low level of employment of these strategies for teaching/learning English, and pointed out to their effectiveness if used in this field. The study has identified the training requirements from the study sample’s point of view. A suggested plan has been envisioned that includes the basics, objectives, content, processors, and evaluation methods for the employment of AI applications in the field of English education.

Academic plagiarism has remained a major concern for higher education institutions, as it hampers not only the quality of the teaching-learning process and research, but also the overall educational institution. This issue appears to be even more serious in online and distance education institutions. As a result, a qualitative study was conducted on an online university in Pakistan to investigate the determinants of academic plagiarism and to find ways to address this issue. The students were given an open-ended questionnaire to reflect their opinions on the awareness and understanding of plagiarism, its determinants, and ways to address it. The findings revealed that most of the 267 online university students had a poor awareness and understanding of plagiarism. Major reasons for students’ plagiarism turned out to be a lack of a proactive approach to create awareness, an omission of citation conventions from course content, untrained teachers, a lack of strict penalties and their proper implementation, poor time management, a fear of failure, a lack of confidence, laziness, and a culture of plagiarism. The study proposes the Awareness, Support, and Prevention model (AS&P model) to address this issue in higher education institutions.

Abstract Many studies describing the transition from school to work focus on national patterns of labour market entry and in so doing, they often simplify the complex transition processes and job finding requirements involved. Our paper sets out to look at some transition obstacles and paths from higher education to the labour market from the graduates’ point of view as expressed during a recent event held at LBUS. We hold that in Romania the first job upon education is hampered by graduates across all disciplines having no or little work-based experience, thus marking national transition patterns/pathways as less compatible with those in other European countries.
