The physical rehabilitation program was developed based on the previous clinical and instrumental screening of functional disorders of the hip joints, formed as a result of dysplasia in preschool children. This program included preventive and rehabilitation blocks. The first block was used during the year and included: morning hygienic gymnastics, exercise minutes and pauses, awakening gymnastics, self-massage, hardening procedures (water procedures, walking barefoot, air and sun baths), psycho-emotional unloading. The second block included therapeutic gymnastics (fitballs, roles Zelart Grid elastic band Thera-band, balancing platform (hemisphere) BOSU, balance discs, traverse walls Traverse, step platforms), hydrokinesiotherapy, moving games, therapeutic massage (local, general, hydromassage), physiotherapy, orthopedic facilities. The developed program provides for the implementation of a comprehensive approach to restoring the physical and functional state of the preschool ORA through the use of game, simulation, traction, relaxation, stretching, special power, breathing, corrective and various coordination exercises. There are a lot of features and benefits of the proposed program, such as many different types of physical exercises for the development of motor skills and motor training, conducting physical exercises in an imitation way, strict dosing and exercise control, purposefully load weakened muscle groups, which depend on the correction of physiological curves of the spine and other segments of the torso and limbs, to diversify each exercise and give it a playful color, stimulate the cardiorespiratory system, using static and dynamic breathing exercises in combination with swinging movements, increase the elasticity and flexibility of the joints of the spine and limbs, through traction exercises and exercises with full range of motion, to form a stereotype of the correct posture, actively using the positive psycho-emotional state of the child, to harmonize the state of the nervous system (processes of excitation and inhibition) due to the alternation of emotional game exercises, strength exercises with overcoming resistance and relaxation exercises, to motivate children to actively and systematically perform special physical exercises.

This paper investigates the impact of Urban and Rural Resident Basic Medical Insurance (URRBMI) on the health of preschool and school-age children in rural China using data from the 2018 wave of the China Family Panel Studies (CFPS). We employ the propensity score matching approach and causal forest to evaluate impacts. Results show that the URRBMI has significantly improved the health status of preschool children. However, the health improvement of school-age children by URRBMI is only limited to obese children, and this effect is not significant. In addition, this paper identifies important variables related to heterogeneity through the causal forest and evaluates the heterogeneity of the impact of URRBMI on the health of two types of children. For preschool children, we find disadvantaged mothers (i.e., with lower wealth, lower educated, or in rural areas) benefit more from the URRBMI. No significant heterogeneity is found for the school-age children. Our study demonstrates the power of causal forest to uncover the heterogeneity in policy evaluation, hence providing policymakers with valuable information for policy design.

Aim. The article deals with compensating the disturbances of dynamic praxis and intermuscular coordination in preschool children using physical exercises and kinesio taping. Materials and Methods. The study was conducted on the premises of the preschool educational establishment No 122 (Cherepovets). We studied dynamic praxis and intermuscular coordination in 18 preschool children aged 5–7 years with foot defects. In 9 children from group A, shoulder girdle muscles were treated with tapes for 4 months. In children from group B, rehabilitation involved both kinesio taping and specially selected physical exercises. Taping of each child was performed individually depending on a child’s health status (four 3-week series, 4 months, Rocktape). The significance of differences was assessed by using the sign test and Fisher’s angular transformation criterion. Results. It was established that in children with foot defects there were secondary disturbances in the performance of shoulder girdle muscles. The treatment of dynamic praxis is provided by means of 1-month kinesiotherapy. Treating secondary disturbances requires four taping series during 4 months. The correction of intermuscular coordination should be accompanied by both physical exercises and kinesio taping. Conclusion. Primary disturbances are usually obvious, and rehabilitation is mostly aimed at their correction and compensation. However, our study proves that there is a necessity to develop kinesiology in preschool educational establishments as secondary disturbances often remain without appropriate treatment.

Abstract Background Supervised tooth brushing is an important part of leading national oral health improvement programs in different countries. With the cessation of water fluoridation in 2014, a new program was immediately required to provide community-based caries prevention, especially amongst young children. The aim of this study was to determine whether a supervised tooth brushing program (STBP) in kindergartens could reduce dental caries amongst preschool children, when compared with children from the same community who did not participate in the program. The study was performed 2 years after the start of the program. Methods Two Jewish and two Arab local authorities (one participating and one control) were randomly chosen. In each local authority, 4 kindergartens (children aged 5) were randomly chosen, giving a total of 16 kindergartens. Children in the intervention group brushed once daily at kindergartens, with fluoridated toothpaste, for two school- years. All the children were examined using the WHO Oral Health Survey Methods Ed.4. Results Two hundred eighty-three five-year-old children were examined, 157 of them Jewish (86 participants in STBP, 71 non-participants) and 126 Arab (59 vs 67 respectively). Among Jewish children, the fraction of untreated decayed teeth was 61% in the participant group and 65% for non-participants, and amongst the Arab children 69% vs. 90% respectively. The fraction of treated decayed teeth for the participant group was 37% compared to 29% for the non-participants among Jewish children, whilst for the Bedouin group it was 23% vs. 8% respectively. Conclusions After 2 years, supervised tooth brushing with fluoride toothpaste shows a favorable effect. This study suggests that dental health of children participating in STBP was better than the control group. Fewer carious teeth and more treated carious lesions were recorded in this group. This program can be applied to low SES communities nationwide. Guidelines for fluoride concentration in toothpaste for children should be re-considered based on high caries levels.
