This research aims to determine the right concentration of cayenne solutionso the red tilapia product most liked. The method used in this study was experimental. The research consisted of 4 treatments and 20 panelists as replicates. The treatments were addition of pineapple fruit extract solution as much as 0% (control), 10%, 20%, and 30% of the total weight of the fish meat filet and the soaking process for each treatment for 30 minutes.Based on the calculation of the value of the criteria in the form of color, aroma, taste, and texture obtained, the most important is the taste that determines the final decision of the panelists in choosing the processed product of shredded fish meat with a weight value of 0.46.Based on the parameters of preference, the product of  red tilapia shredded with 20% pineapple solution was the best treatment and the most preferred by the panelists, with organoleptic values: color 6.5; fragrance 6.3; taste 7.2; and texture 6.0. The results of the proximate test of red tilapia with the addition of a 20% pineapple solution in the soaking process for 30 minutes was the most preferred treatment by the panelists. The results were 6.2% water content, 30.18% protein, 17.72% fat and carbohydrates 41.97%.

The processed oil from the coconut plant is generally understood as coconut oil. A method is required to produce a product with a higher oil extraction rate and is able to reduce the water content and free fatty acids in the coconut oil production. It is also necessary to add substances that can delay or prevent fat oxidation reactions by generating substances in the form of antioxidants. The method that can be implemented is the enzymatic method employing the bromelain enzyme in a pineapple with the addition of an antioxidants substance from the kesum  leaf. The objective of this research is to describe the quality of coconut oil after the addition of pineapple (ananas comosus) and kesum leaves (polygonus minus) extracts. The parameters for describing the quality of the oil are the organoleptic test, the degree of acidity, the oil extract rate, the peroxide number, the saponification number, and the acid number. This research is a quasi-experiment. The samples in this research were coconut oil without the addition of pineapple fruit extract, coconut oil with the addition of pineapple fruit extract without the addition of kesum leaves, and coconut oil with the addition of pineapple fruit extract and kesum leaves as much as 20gr, 30gr and 40gr. Based on the statistical results of the linear regression test, it was discovered that p-value = 0.000 <0.05, so it was concluded that there was an effect of the addition of pineapple fruit and leaves of kesum on acid number content with an effect of 76.4% on the acid number, 71.4% on the peroxide number, and 81.5% to the saponification number. It is recommended to test the water content, free fatty acids, and iodine number.

The present research to determine the Extract of Pineapple (Ananas comosus) on the survival of catfish infected with A. Hydrophila. The main problem of cultivation of catfish (C. batrachus) is a disease caused by the bacterium Aeromonas hydrophila.Catfish (Clarias batrachus) is a freshwater fish that has several advantages, one of which is a high nutritional content. Test animals used were catfish measuring 15-20cm with a body weight of ± 250gr. Challenge test by injecting A. hydrophila suspension with a dose of 108sel / mm3 as much as 0.1mm intramuscularly. Observations were made for 7 days after infection  which included the total number of leukocytes and neutrophils. This study was divided into 5 treatment groups with 5 replications, namely P1 (positive control), P2 (0.1%), P3 (0.3%), P4 (0.5%),  P5  (0.7%)  and soaking Pineapple Fruit Extract for 24 hours. Data analysis in this study used one way ANOVA statistical test. The results showed symptoms of catfish attacked by Aeromonas hydrophila including increased total number of leukocytes and neutrophils and ulceration in catfish. Soaking effect Pineapple fruit extract 0.5% effective dose can reduce the total number of leukocytes and 0.7% effective dose can reduce the total number of neutrophils.

The purpose of this study was to determine the physical and organoleptic qualities of milk-based caramel with variations in the use of pineapple (Ananas comosus (L) Merr.). The design of this study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with five treatments and four replications. The tested treatments include milk-based caramel, which was processed with pineapple juice at T0=0%; T1=5%; T2=10%; T3=15%; T4=20%. The research variables included physical quality testing consisting of water content and crude fiber content, further testing of texture, color, and panelists' preference as organoleptic parameters tested using sensory tests. The observations obtained will be processed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) with a level of 5% and will be further tested using Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) if it shows a significant effect. Based on the results of analysis of variance (ANOVA), the variation in various treatments with the addition of pineapple fruit in the milk-based caramel processing showed a significant effect (P<0.05) on the physical quality of caramel (crude fiber content and water content) and organoleptic quality (texture, color), and preference) on milk-based caramel products. The percentage of crude fiber content is 0.35%-4.50%; moisture content 10.15%-15.63%; texture score is hard to not hard; the color score is light brown to brown and liking score is slightly like to like. The conclusion of this research was the addition of pineapple affects crude fiber content, milk caramel water content, texture, color, and milk caramel preference.

The “go/no-go” decision for a candidate property, i.e., whether or not to actually acquire the site, choose the brand (flag), build and operate the hotel, requires the explicit consideration of the interconnectedness of the many myriad elements affecting the property's potential profits. The many facility design decisions (number and mix of rooms, capacity for F&B operations etc.) as well as other strategic choices (e.g., size of marketing program, level of service aimed for) must recognize the site's competitive features and interactions with the above. Also, the particular design and operational features for a given property will affect its different revenue streams, fixed and variable costs, efficiency and profits. The authors consider developers contemplating acquiring a given site, choosing a brand, building and operating a new hotel. They offer a normative approach for this type of decision which arrives endogenously at possibly attractive options for the brand, design and strategic choices for the site. The final decision as to which option to actually use, if any, should be based on subjecting the above identified scenarios, as well as others, to traditional feasibility analyses where judgment and expert opinion are applied. The authors' implementable approach integrates a “best practices” benchmarking methodology with regression analysis to yield a mathematical programming optimization model. A key advantage of this approach lies in its contrast to conventional approaches for site selection which often ignore the more detailed design and strategic choices. The approach deals explicitly with the complex interfaces between marketing and operations management as the endogenous site and competitive environmental factors interact with the endogenous brand and facility design choices. By identifying attractive options to be further explored (that might otherwise be overlooked), several types of errors are avoided: i) an incorrect “go/no go” decision could be recommended for the site in question; ii) even if the right decision to proceed is made, the forecasted level of annualized profits could be in error, leading to an incorrect priority for the activity; iii) the incorrect brand and facility design choices could be made for the site. Other key advantages of the suggested approach are that 1) various substitution possibilities (between more or less capital, labor, materials etc.) are considered; 2) not only is the best brand and configuration identified, but also a ranking of other brands is available if the “best” brand is not available; 3) the “best practices” at other specific sites (which serve as the basis for the recommendations) are identified, thereby enabling management (possibly through site visits) to isolate the actual cultures, processes and procedures to be transported and emulated at the candidate site. This paper illustrates the approach for two different sites.

We determined the effect of pulmonary hypoperfusion on extravascular water accumulation in anesthetized dogs by occluding the left pulmonary artery for 3 h and then reperfusing it for 24 h. The lung was reperfused either at normal left atrial pressure (Pla) or during increased Pla induced by a left atrial balloon. In each case the extravascular water content-to-bloodless dry weight ratio (W/D) of the left lung was compared with that of the right lung. The W/D of the left lung of 3.26 +/- 0.49 ml/g was not significantly different from the value of 2.87 +/- 0.37 for the right lung after the reperfusion at normal Pla. However, the W/D of the left lung of 5.10 +/- 0.38 ml/g was greater (P less than 0.05) than the value of 4.42 +/- 0.34 for the right lung after reperfusion at Pla of 25 Torr. This difference could not be prevented by pretreatment with heparin, suggesting that the increase in lung water content was not due to activation of intravascular coagulation secondary to stasis occurring during the occlusion. Because the left lung was more edematous than the right one, even though both lungs had been subjected to the same increase in Pla, the results suggest that a period of pulmonary hypoperfusion causes an increase in the interstitial protein concentration.

LANGUAGE NOTE | Document text in Chinese; abstract also in English.對於沒有臨床救治希望的病人,要不要繼續治療?誰有最終的決定權?這既是臨床醫療問題,又是一個涉及社會倫理法規的問題。對於這樣的病人,不放棄治療可能意味著要消耗更多的醫療資源但又無法挽救病人,但是如果放棄治療,可能會遇到更多的來自社會傳統的、倫理法規的問題。筆者認為,在社會多元化發展的今天,面對臨床無效治療,應在尊重病人或病人家屬有最終決定權的前提下,以一定道德、法規為依據,按照一定的醫療程式和法律手續進行處理,可能是更為符合人道和社會公眾利益的理性選擇。There has not been a clear medical definition of futility. The concept of futile treatment involves not only medical, but also social, ethical, and legal components. This paper argues that in today's pluralistic moral circumstances, the patient and/or the family should have the final right to decision regarding futile treatment.Some are opposed to renouncing futile treatment, whatever futility is defined. For them, first, abandoning treatment is in conflict with the physician's basic duty of offering treatment. Second, giving up treatment also gives up the chance of making medical progress by attempting to treat the patient. Third, the patient would thereby lose the opportunity of prolonging the life. And finally, it would change the good image of the physician (as taking care of the patient). On the other hand, those who support renouncing futile treatment offer different reasons. First, giving up futile treatment will turn out to be respecting the value of the patient's life. Second, It would help people recognize the natural limit of contemporary medical development. Third, it would facilitate a reasonable pattern of distributing scarce medical resources. And finally, it could reduce the suffering of the patient. As a result, we face a social situation of moral pluralism: people disagree with each other regarding renouncing futile treatment.A difficult practical issue is who has the right to decide renouncing futile treatment. This paper argues that, giving individuals hold conflicting views of life, valoue and morality, the patient should have the final decision power regarding his/her own treatment. If the patient is incompetent, then the family should have the deciding right. In this respect we should overcome the longstanding medical paternalism. This study aims to determine processing of wadi patin fish (Pangasiu hypophthalmus) quick process and not salty, It is a fermented product from fish, in the form of a wet material through a salting process, the addition of spices then followed by fermentation for several days until it produces an aroma and taste. This traditional food is the result of fermentation assisted by synergistic microorganisms, namely lactic acid bacteria. The results of the study by washing fish after the salting process were able to accelerate fermentation from 7 days to 3 days. The best treatment is to wash the fish meat twice after the salting process. the specifications of the resulting wadi are as follows: protein content = 18.64%; salt content = 0.79%; Water content = 58.65%; Fat content = 3.29%; total microbes (LAB) 6.5x104; organoleptic value (taste) = 7.55.

Background: The fabella, which is generally located in the lateral head of the gastrocnemius muscle, is a sesamoid bone that articulates with the posterior face of the lateral femoral condyle. As traditional information, the prevalence of fabella is between 10–30% in the population and is usually present in both knees. Introduction: The objective of this study was to investigate the knee MRIs in the Eastern Anatolia Region of Turkey subjects in order to assess the prevalence of the fabella and analyse the differences between gender, age and laterality and its symmetry pattern. Methods: This study was a retrospective study in patients older than 18 years whose knee MRIs were taken between February 2014 and February 2016. In this study, a total of 531 patients [290 females and 241 males] were included. The radiographs were examined by two orthopedic surgeons and the fabella was located. Later, an expert radiologist made the final decision and confirmed the results. Results: The number of patients included in the study was 531. We detected os fabella in 59 (11.1%) patients. Of the 59 os fabella, 33 were in the right knee and 26 were in the left knee, 38 were female and 21were male. Conclusion: In this study, we investigated the age and gender differences besides the prevalence and the symmetry pattern of the fabella in the Eastern Anatolia Region of Turkey’s population. Prevalence of the fabella was found to be 11.1% which is different than previously published studies.

This study aims to determine the effect of steamed potatoes and green bean flour on the characteristics of flakes, and to know the right ratio of steamed potatoes and green bean flour which produced flakes with the best characteristics. The was used in this research completely randomized design with the treatment ratio of steamed potatoes and green bean flour, which consists of 6 levels such as: 35% : 65%, 40% : 60%, 45% : 55%, 50% : 50%, 55% : 45%, 60% : 40%. The treatment was repeated 3 times to obtained 18 units of the experiment. The data were analysed by variance analysis  and if the treatment had an effect on the variable then continued with Duncan test. The result showed steamed potatoes and green bean flour ratio had a significant effect on water content, ash content, fat content, protein content, carbohydrate content, color (hedonic), aroma (hedonic), texture (hedonic and scoring), taste (hedonic) and overall acceptance (hedonic). Ratio of 35% steamed potatoes and 65% green bean flour produced flakes with the best characteristics, with 2.41 % water content, 4.57 % ash content, 19.16% protein content, 10.20% fat content, 63.66% carbohydrate content, color liked, aroma liked, texture crunchy and liked, taste netral and overall acceptance rather liked.

Object Brain edema formation following intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) appears to be partly related to erythrocyte lysis and hemoglobin release. An increase of brain water content was associated with an increase of brain iron, which is an erythrocyte degradation product. Expression of AQP4 is highly modified in several brain disorders, and it can play a key role in cerebral edema formation. However, the question whether AQP4 is regulated by drugs lacks reliable evidence, and the interacting roles of iron overload and AQP4 in brain edema after ICH are unknown. The goal of this study was to clarify the relationship between iron overload and AQP4 expression and to characterize the effects of the iron chelator deferoxamine (DFO) on delayed brain edema after experimental ICH. Methods A total of 144 Sprague-Dawley rats weighing between 250 and 300 g were used in this work. The animals were randomly divided into 4 groups. The ICH models (Group C) were generated by injecting 100 μl autologous blood stereotactically into the right caudate nucleus; surgical control rats (Group B) were generated in a similar fashion, by injecting 100 μl saline into the right caudate nucleus. Intervention models (Group D) were established by intraperitoneal injection of DFO into rats in the ICH group. Healthy rats (Group A) were used for normal control models. Brain water content, iron deposition, and AQP4 in perihematomal brain tissue were evaluated over the time course of the study (1, 3, 7, and 14 days) in each group. Results Iron deposition was found in the perihematomal zone as early as the 1st day after ICH, reaching a peak after 7 days and remaining at a high level thereafter for at least 14 days following ICH. Rat brain water content around the hematoma increased progressively over the time course, reached its peak at Day 3, and still was evident at Day 7 post-ICH. Immunohistochemical analysis showed that AQP4 was richly expressed over glial cell processes surrounding microvessels in the rat brain; there was upregulation of the AQP4 expression in perihematomal brain during the observation period, and it reached maximum at 3 to 7 days after ICH. The changes of brain water content were accompanied by an alteration of AQP4. The application of the iron chelator DFO significantly reduced iron overload, brain water content, and AQP4 level in the perihematomal area compared with the control group. Conclusions Iron overload and AQP4 may play a critical role in the formation of brain edema after ICH. In addition, AQP4 expression was affected by iron concentration. Importantly, treatment with DFO significantly reduced brain edema in rats and inhibited the AQP4 upregulation after ICH. Deferoxamine may be a potential therapeutic agent for treating ICH.
