An original initial material of spring and winter bread wheat with group resistance to stem and leaf rust was developed using new donors of resistance to stem rust: winter soft wheat GT 96/90 (Bulgaria) and accession 119/4-06rw with genetic material of the species Triticum migushovae and (Aegilops speltoides and Secale cereale), respectively, a line of spring wheat 113/00i-4 obtained using the species Ae. triuncialis and T. kiharae, as well as spring accession 145/00i with genetic material of the species Ae. speltoides resistant to leaf rust. The transfer of effective Sr-genes to progeny was monitored using molecular markers. New lines underwent a field assessment of resistance to leaf and stem rust in the epiphytotic development of diseases in the Central Region of the Russian Federation, as well as in the North Caucasus and Western Siberia, and showed high resistance to these pathogens. Fourteen genotypes of spring wheat with group resistance to these diseases and parental forms that participated in the origin of the lines were evaluated for resistance to spot blotch (Cochliobolus sativus) and tan spot (Pyrenophora tritici-repentis) using isolates from Kazakhstan and Omsk in laboratory conditions. A highly resistant parental form of winter soft wheat from “Arsenal” collection 119/4-06rw (wheat-Ae. speltoides-rye hybrid 2n = 42) with group resistance to two spots, four medium-resistant genotypes to both isolates of tan spot from Kazakhstan and Omsk populations of the pathogen, as well as genotypes resistant to the Omsk isolate of P. triticirepentis (parental form 113/00i-4 and lines 1-16i, 6-16i, 9-16i) were isolated. Among the lines of winter wheat, four were identified with group resistance to spot blotch and tan spot. Additionally, the stress resistance of the lines to NaCl salinization and prolonged flooding of seeds with water was evaluated at the early stages of ontogenesis in laboratory conditions. Lines 33-16i, 37-16i, 32-16i and 9-16i showed a high ability to withstand excess moisture. Lines 33-16i, 37-16i, 32-16i and 3-16i were characterized by high salt tolerance, exceeding the average of 49.7 %. Among the winter genotypes, lines were identified with increased resistance to hypoxia (37-19w, 32-19w, 16-19w, 90-19w) and with increased salt tolerance (20-19w, 9-19w, 37-19w, 90-19w), significantly exceeding the standard cv. Moskovskaya 39. The listed lines are of interest as sources of resistance to anaerobic and salt stress, as well as donors of resistance to a group of fungal diseases: leaf and stem rust and tan spot. We attribute the increased level of resistance of the new initial material to the presence of alien translocations in the original parental forms involved in the origin of the lines.

Abstract Interspecific hybridization in the Cyprinidae family has been recorded worldwide, with Abramis brama (bream) and Rutilus rutilus (roach) as one of the often-reported hybridizing pairs. The only account of such an event in Bosnia and Herzegovina has been in Modrac Reservoir. Using morphological and molecular markers, the presence of hybrids was surveyed, the hybridization direction was determined and the hybrid group structure in this ecosystem was evaluated. Our findings confirmed unhindered natural hybridization between roach and bream in Modrac Reservoir. Over 50% of the hybrid specimens were classified as F2 hybrids by the NewHybrids software, while the rest were categorized as pure parental form, making it the first such finding in Europe. The analysis of mitochondrial cytochrome b showed that 90% of hybrid individuals were of bream maternal origin. The hybrid group expressed higher mean values of observed heterozygosity and gene diversity than both parental species. Signs of introgressive hybridization between parental species were detected. The hybrid zone of Modrac Reservoir appears to follow the intermediate or “flat” hybrid model based on the balanced distribution of parental and hybrid genotypes. Further investigation is needed to elucidate the factors that enable the survival and mating success of post-F1 individuals.

The main method of breeding spring hexaploid Triticale is intravariety hybridization. At the same time, the effectiveness of breeding work depends on the correct selection of parental forms for crosses. However, the parental forms show different combining ability according to selective characteristics. In this regard, selection is more effective if it is based on information about their inheritance obtained through genetic analysis. The purpose of the research is to study the nature of inheritance of the main characteristics of productivity of the main ear (number of spikelets per ear, number of grains per ear, weight of grain per ear, weight of 1000 grains) hybrids of spring triticale F1 in agroecological conditions of the Vladimir region. The material of the study was 20 reciprocal hybrid combinations of spring triticale in comparison with the parental forms. To create hybrids of the first generation, four varieties of domestic selection and one Belarusian with high indicators of economically valuable traits were involved in hybridization. A different degree of phenotypic dominance has been established, which determines the type of inheritance of quantitative signs of productivity of the main ear. Reciprocal F1 hybrids differed in the degree of dominance from depression (negative overdominance) to heterosis (positive overdominance). The heterosis effect depended on which parental form was taken for the maternal, and which for the paternal. Hybrid F1 combinations with a high degree of overdominance of the main characteristics of the productivity of the main ear are identified: Lotas × Norman, Norman × Lotas, Norman × Grebeschok, Amigo × Grebeschok, Amigo × Norman.

Te article tackles the feasibility of improving the raspberry fruit size as an important production and marketability factor. Te trials included 22 domestic and foreign cultivars, 11 selected forms of raspberry, as well as ten cross-breeding combinations and three open-pollinated forms. Te assessment of parental forms and hybrids was carried out at the collection and breeding sites of the Kokino base station of Federal Horticultural Center for Breeding, Agrotechnology and Nursery during 2016-2020. Fruits were harvested from regular cultivar bushes every 2 days in triplicate. Te average weight was determined per 100 berries in each replicate. Cultivars and hybrids were divided into three groups, small- (3.6 g). Te average berry weight in hybrid nurslings was estimated per plant. Each plant was sampled with 30 berries. Weighing was performed with an SCC-750 electronic scales device. Te weather conditions of the trial period were contrast, allowing a more objective assessment of the collection and breeding raspberry material by berry weight. Te following cultivars were identified as the sources of improved berry size in the parental form trials: Maria, Cascade Delight, Fenomen, Lavina, Cowichan, Patricia, Laczka, Glen Ample and selections 2-115-1, 8-13-2, 18-11-3, 18-11-2, 2-90-2 and 2-90-3. Tese forms had an average trial-period berry weight of 3.7-4.3 g least affected by weather conditions. Te inspection of hybrids revealed the best parental forms for obtaining new raspberry cultivars with an improved berry weight: Maria, Fenomen, Lavina, Cowichan, Glen Ample and the selected form 8-13-2. Te promising cross-combinations are: 2-12-1 x Fenomen, Lavina x Ulybka, 8-13-2 x Peresvet, as well as the open-pollinated offspring of Glen Ample, Cowichan and Maria. Large-fruited genotypes isolated in these lineages will be used in further breeding to increase the fruit size in raspberry.

The paper assesses the efficiency of using the federsex for marker genes K-k maternal parental form and the final broiler hybrid of the new highly productive cross Smena-9 in production conditions. It was found that two-lined chickens of the maternal parental form SM79 have an advantage over the original lines in reproductive qualities (egg production, hatching eggs, hatching, number of chickens per a laying hen) by 1.23-25.6%. Under optimal conditions for feeding and keeping, 138.5 heads of day-old broilers can be obtained from the autosex maternal parental form. During selection of linear poultry, the following indicators of broilers were improved: livability, live weight, dressed weight, yield of pectoral muscles and reduced feed costs per 1 kg of live weight gain. The meat yield from one parental pair was 314.8 kg. The taste qualities of broth and poultry meat of the Smena-9 cross are high. The sexing accuracy is 99.8%. Poultry of the federsex maternal parental form and the final hybrid - broilers of the new Russian cross Smena-9 has a high genetic potential and can be successfully used in the production of eggs and meat at enterprises of various types.

The article is devoted to the assessment of the efficiency of se-lection of the initial lines of the Plymouth Rock breed of the domestic meat cross “Smena 9”. It was found that breeding of meat chickens of lines CM7 and CM9 (from 2016 to 2020) resulted in an increase in the live weight of the young, fleshing of the chest and legs at 35 days of age, the feed conver-sion for both cockerels and hens by 8.8-10.0%; 0.9-1.9% and 1.0-1.9%; 1.2-1.8%. In 2020, all juveniles of the paternal line CM7 at one day of age were the carriers of the marker gene K (100%), the maternal line Cm9 - the carriers of the marker gene K (100%). The accuracy of sexing of the maternal parental form CM79 is 99.7%. From one parental pair of the Smena 9 cross, 307.6 kg of meat was obtained, which is 14.2% higher than in the previous cross. The average daily gain of the final hybrid of the cross “Smen. 66 kg/kg; a 9” grown in the production conditions of the SGC “Smena” was 63.5 g; feed costs were at 1.66 kg/kg; preservation rate - 98.8%; the output of the pectoral muscles and the slaughter yield - 23.5 and 73.1% (against 56.3 and 71.4%). The bird of the cross “Smena 9” is competitive.

Objectives: Acute attacks of epidemics and the physical risk have adverse severe psychological effects on children due to their lower protective capacity. This study aimed to determine home quarantine’s psychological effect because of Coronavirus (COVID-19) on parental stress and its relationship with anxiety and depression in children. Methods: This research was conducted during 17-26 March 2017 - the initial stages of the Iranian people’s public call for quarantine - in Guilan province. The study’s statistical population included all children aged 5 to 12 years and their parents who were purposefully sampled, and 181 people responded voluntarily to the Child Symptom Inventory-4 (CSI-4)-Parental Form and the Impact of Event Scale-Revised (IES-R). For data analysis, the Pearson correlation coefficient, independent t-test, and regression analysis were used. Results: After eliminating the effect of demographic variables, it was found that more parents› scores on the intrusion subscale (β=0.568, P=0.004) and hyperarousal (β=0.772, P<0.0001) could predict more anxiety scores. None of the IES-R components in parents could predict children’s depression scores (P>0.05). In general, the higher parental scores on IES-R, the more likely the child to have anxiety scores (β=0.258, P=0.011) and depression (β=0.325, P<0.0001) in children. Conclusion: Based on the results, it can be said that the psychological effect of home quarantine caused by Covid-19 pandemic in parents can have a devastating impact on children’s anxiety and depression, and these results necessitate the training programs of psychological support for parents and their children.

The aim of research was to evaluate hybrid black currant families on productivity, large-fruitiness, flavor, resistance to currant gall mite and American mildew and to reveal the best ones in conditions of Kirov region. The studies were held in the experimental orchard of Federal Agricultural Research Center (FARC) of the North-East (Kirov) in 2010-2017. The object of the research was the hybrid of black currant breeding of FARC of the North-East on a plantation established in 2013. The scheme of planting was 3×1 m. 26 hybrid families (453 seedlings) obtained as a result of hybridization in 2010 were evaluated. Observations and recordings were held according to the general methods. For creating hybrid material of black currant the varieties Sapphire, Shagane, Arcadia, Mulatka and forms – as sources of economically valuable features obtained in conditions of Kirov region were used. According to the results of the research, the combinations of hybridization with the maximum yield of hybrid seedlings with valuable features which show an interest for the further breeding were revealed: 41-3-07×Sapphire – early maturity and good productivity (75.6-91.1 %); 10-1-07×Arcadia – large-fruitiness (50.0-66.7 %) and nice flavor (61.5 %); 57-5-07×44-8-96 – with resistance to currant gall mind (100.0 %) and mildew (42.9 %); 69-5-07×Shagane – good productivity (50.0-92.8 %); 102-1-07×Alexandrina, 25-4-07×Mulatka, 99-3-07×34-4-96 – with resistance to currant gall mind (100.0 %). For the further research 12 selected forms of black currant with economically valuable features have been identified, replicated and planted at the site of primary studying. The Sapphire variety became the best parent form in evaluating breeding material. In crossing combinations with its involvement the maximal amount of selected seedlings with economically valuable features (8 from 12 forms) were revealed. In crossing combinations, where the Shagane variety was used as a male parental form, a high yield of productive seedlings was noted.
