For 25 years, UC San Diego Student-Run Free Clinic Project has provided free high-quality care to underserved communities, while inspiring the next generation of health professionals. Free thorough ongoing care is provided in community settings to people who have nowhere to turn and do not qualify for access to care. The clinic philosophy has four tenets: empowerment - creating environments where patients take charge of their lives and achieve wellbeing, a humanistic approach - embodying Rogerian principles of empathy, respect, and self-awareness, a transdisciplinary model, one where the patient and community are the teacher. This philosophy permeates the life of the clinic. These values are taught, modeled, expected, and observed in curricular components throughout the four years of medical school. 250 medical, 75 pharmacy, and 100 predental students are involved each year as well as students in law, social work, and acupuncture. Students learn to be healers, artists, teachers as they become health professionals. At each clinic session student leaders gather the team in a large circle, and lead a sharing of recent stories and experiences reflecting the core tenets. All work is directly supervised by licensed clinicians, many of whom were once free clinic students. During the era of COVID, care became virtual. Promotors helped patients learn to use Zoom to receive care. Visit attendance increased to 100%. Our Spanish language empowerment group met online. The clinic already provided healthy food bags to patients at medical visits. Students and volunteers organized to deliver food and medication to people’s homes.

Circular exercise can be used at varying gaits and diameters to exercise horses, with repeated use anecdotally relating to increased lameness. This work sought to characterize mean area, mean vertical force, and mean pressure of the front hooves while exercising in a straight line at the walk and trot, and small (10-m diameter) and large circles (15-m diameter) at the walk, trot, and canter. Nine mature horses wore TekscanTM Hoof Sensors on their forelimbs adhered with a glue-on shoe. Statistical analysis was performed in SAS 9.4 with fixed effects of leg, gait, and exercise type (PROC GLIMMIX) and p < 0.05 as significant. For all exercise types, the walk had greater mean pressure than the trot (p < 0.01). At the walk, the straight line had greater mean area loaded than the large circle (p = 0.01), and both circle sizes had lower mean vertical force than the straight line (p = 0.003). During circular exercise at the canter, the outside front limb had greater mean area loaded than at the walk and trot (p = 0.001). This study found that gait is an important factor when evaluating circular exercise and should be considered when exercising horses to prevent injury.

The problem of describing the process of protecting agricultural crops in mathematical modeling is relevant. Today, the problem of plant protection attracts the attention of a large circle of scientists in connection with its promising use in priority areas of development of science, technology and agriculture. Mathematical modeling of the process of protecting the planned crop is one of the main tools in predicting the state of natural systems and managing them. One of the most important national economic, social and environmental problems at present is the improvement of systems for protecting agricultural crops from pests. Mathematical modeling of the process of protecting the planned harvest obliges to improve regional systems for protecting cotton on the basis of a targeted ecological and biological study, revealing the specifics of the formation and development of agro ecosystems in intensive crop production. The main task of the integrated method of combating agricultural pests of the plant protection process is the management of agrocenoses of “harmful insects” and “beneficial insects” of species based on the use of biological, chemical methods as a means or a management tool. The use of mathematical methods and computer software products to solve the problem of protecting the planned crop significantly increases the efficiency of planned and economic work and ensure optimal results. In this paper, we consider a mathematical model of the plant protection process, taking into account the temporal age structure and arbitrary trophic functions, formulate the task of plant protection. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the solvability of the plant protection problem with arbitrary trophic functions are found

The article analyzes the characteristics of the construction of the Bolshaya Koltsevaya line (Large Circle Line) of the Moscow Metro from the point of view of the transportation process planning. The authors have studied the characteristics of all operating depots of the Moscow Metro that justify the plans for the construction of two new depots (Aminievsky and Nizhegorodsky), as well as the reconstruction of one of the existing depots (Zamoskvoretsky), located within the city limits of Moscow – inside the Moscow Automobile Ring Road (MKAD), in the vicinity of the Third Transport Ring and beyond. For the needs of modeling, the station-to-station length of the closed Bolshaya Koltsevaya line was measured, subject to the transfer of a train traffi c section from the Delovoy Tsentr station to the Khoroshevskaya station of the projected Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya metro line. Based on the measurement fi ndings, the station-to-station travel times along the closed Bolshaya Koltsevaya line were calculated, which subsequently made it possible to determine the number of electric rolling stock units required to service the Bolshaya Koltsevaya line in the morning rush hour

An important task of the modern study of ancient Pskov is to identify the personal composition of the urban posad estate throughout its 300-year history. The solution to this massive task has been carried out since the mid-1980s, by means of continuous copying of a large circle of mass sources and acts found in the archives of Russian State Archive of Ancient Documents (RGADA), the State Archive of Pskov region (GAPO) and Pskov State Historical-Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve. This was followed by the creation of a personal card file of the Pskov posad (towns) people, reconstruction of their genealogies, and collection of information about their economic activities. All this made it possible to start a per capita biography of the Pskov posad people, entitled by the author: “Pskov Posad in the 16 - 18 centuries. Animographical code”. To date, the first two volumes of the “Code” for publication, containing, in addition to an extensive introductory part, articles on the personalities of Posadsky people in alphabetical order (from “A” to “D” inclusive) are being prepared. The article presents the structure of the entire “Code” and its significance for further research of all aspects of social, economic, and cultural life of the Posadsky population of the Russian city, as well as a small fragment of it, which provides information about the activity and family ties of two prominent representatives of Pskov Posad. The publication is followed by an essay about the author, who died on November 13, 2020.

AbstractNeolamarckia cadamba is an important tropical and subtropical tree for timber industry in southern China and is also a medicinal plant because of the secondary product cadambine. N. cadamba belongs to Rubiaceae family and its taxonomic relationships with other species are not fully evaluated based on genome sequences. Here, we report the complete sequences of mitochondrial genome of N. cadamba, which is 414,980 bp in length and successfully assembled in two genome circles (109,836 bp and 305,144 bp). The mtDNA harbors 83 genes in total, including 40 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 31 transfer RNA genes, 6 ribosomal RNA genes, and 6 other genes. The base composition of the whole genome is estimated as 27.26% for base A, 22.63% for C, 22.53% for G, and 27.56% for T, with the A + T content of 54.82% (54.45% in the small circle and 54.79% in the large circle). Repetitive sequences account for ~ 0.14% of the whole genome. A maximum likelihood (ML) tree based on DNA sequences of 24 PCGs supports that N. cadamba belongs to order Gentianales. A ML tree based on rps3 gene of 60 species in family Rubiaceae shows that N. cadamba is more related to Cephalanthus accidentalis and Hymenodictyon parvifolium and belongs to the Cinchonoideae subfamily. The result indicates that N. cadamba is genetically distant from the species and genera of Rubiaceae in systematic position. As the first sequence of mitochondrial genome of N. cadamba, it will provide a useful resource to investigate genetic variation and develop molecular markers for genetic breeding in the future.

Currently, almost all urgently hospitalized patients immediately get access to the venous bed and begin to receive an infusion of solutions. This priority of this procedure is due not only to the need to have the most effective way of administering medications, but also to compensate for the loss of fluid, which in acute diseases has many reasons for this. Further recommendations for the correction of water-electrolyte and volume losses and the choice of the infusion rate are determined by the general criteria for their diagnosis in accordance with the parameters of the large circle of blood circulation. Considering AP, first of all, as a result of infection and not focusing on the localization of the process, modern medicine does not make exceptions in this therapeutic direction for patients with inflammation of the lung tissue.

The Fish Aggregating Devices (FADs) have been utilized for a long time by the purse seine fishermen in Ureng. This research was aimed at mapping the devices operating by Ureng fishermen and indentifying the dominant captured fish surrounding the set devices. This research was conducted in Lihitu district, Central Maluku Regency. The results showed that there was one large circle that resembled a ball with several groups of five small circles inside. Based on the type, the dominant fish caught around the FADs were mackerel (45 ton), mackerel tuna (25 ton), and skipjack tuna (20 ton). Overall, this study found that the catch using the purse seine in the five FAD groups was dominated by small and medium sized fish. In conclusion, under the potential fishing area for purse saine fishermen in Ureng, if the distance between the FADs is adjusted, fish are not trapped forever in the FADs and can migrate, lay eggs in other areas outside the waters of Ureng.

Research has shown that the world’s population is currently 7.8 billion, out of which 28% are exposed to the online market. Creating a sports management system for basketball teams will thus have a great impact to the approximately 2.2 billion people using the online platforms. Since marketing is important in almost every field, we will be employing it in school sports. School sports assume a significant role in mental and physiological well-being, particularly in the information age. Its emergence has incredibly helped in the upkeep of a healthy well being and an exponential decrease in non-communicable diseases and chronic illnesses. As one of the sports being played in college institutions, Basketball is fundamental in maintaining an optimal body mass index (BMI) and reducing obesity. It should thus be encouraged. This study’s objective is to oversee the creation of a sports marketing management system (SMMS) for college basketball teams. We explain the procedural processes involved in building the management system. This is because its mere presence and practice are not sufficient to oversee its full potential, marketing is at the core of every successful implementation and it is thus necessary to create this system for this sole purpose. Creating this system, especially in this data age is so important since there are a barrage of platforms to facilitate its use. A previous study has indicated a rise in the utilization of technological gadgets, such as PCs, cell phones, and work stations. Figure 1 indicates these findings. Making a management system that may be utilized with these gadgets will subsequently help access to numerous understudies. It will likewise assist in reaching a large circle of target audience. This is because participants will be not only able to participate on-site but also off-site. This investigation discretely explains the requirement for the SMMS. It procedurally clarifies the procedures required from the conceptualization to its realization and release.

Social media are an indispensable modern adolescents’ daily ritual. The present study investigates the specifics of social media influence on the adolescents’ psychological wellbeing in everyday life and during Covid-19. The research hypothesis stated that excessive social media use could provide loneliness, depression, and lack of sleep. The investigation is based on data received from interviews, questionnaires, and statistical analysis. A group of 516 psychology and medical students (78.8% females, 21.2% males) aged 15-21 took part in the study via Google Form survey conducted in Odesa I.I. Mechnikov National University, Ukraine. The participants’ overall well-being, loneliness, level of stress were assessed in correlation with personality characteristics and tendency to social media disorder. The obtained results showed that the more time adolescents spend on social media, the more real-life relationships decrease due to online isolation in social terms. The predictors of social media disorder are difficulties in relationships with family, time spent on social media and psycho-emotional background. It is determined that the social media use creates the illusion of participation and importance for a large circle of people. The study provides evidence that the unsatisfactory level of modern adolescents’ well-being can be explained by the passive use of social media, which provokes emotional lability, irritability, depression, and sleep deprivation.
