ABSTRACT: AUTOGENIC RELAXATION TECHNIQUES IN TYPE II DIABETES MELLITUS PATIENTS WITH INSTABILITY PROBLEMS OF BLOOD GLUCOSE LEVELS IN PUTRI GREEN MEDAN TK II HOSPITAL Introduction:Diabetes Mellitus Type II is a metabolic disorder characterized by increased blood sugar levels accompanied by abnormalities in carbohydrates, proteins, and fats due to lack of insulin either due to pancreatic dysfunction or absolute insulin dysfunction. The instability of blood glucose levels in DM patients causes complications, so it is necessary to use autogenic relaxation techniques. Autogenic Relaxation is a form of mind body intervention, originating from within yourself in the form of words or short sentences that can make the mind calm by giving exercises to sit in a chair, leaning back on a chair, or problems on the floor by closing your eyes and breathing through your nose and exhale. through the mouth with the technique repeated for approximately 10 minutes do the procedure 2-3 times. Objective: The purpose of this scientific paper is to carry out health education about autogenic relaxation techniques in type II diabetes mellitus patients with blood glucose level instability problems at the Tk II Putri Hijau Hospital in Medan. Methods: The design of this research case study method is descriptive. The study sample consisted of 2 patients according to the inclusion criteria. Result: The results of the study after being given autogenic relaxation therapy in the first patient decreased by 91 mg/dl and the second patient decreased by 208 mg/dl. So that it can offer autogenic relaxation techniques in type II DM patients to reduce blood glucose levels. Conclusion: It is hoped that further researchers can conduct research by adding other characteristics that have not been studied related to the symptoms of type II DM patients. Keywords: Diabetes Mellitus Type II, Blood Glucose Level Instability,       Autogenic Relaxation Technique  INTISARI: TEKNIK RELAKSASI AUTOGENIK PADA PASIEN DIABETES MILLITUS TIPE II DENGAN MASALAH KETIDAKSTABILAN KADAR GLUKOSA DARAH DI RUMAH SAKIT TK II PUTRI HIJAU MEDAN Pendahuluan: Diabetes Mellitus Tipe II merupakan kelainan metabolisme kronik yang ditandai dengan peningkatan kadar gula darah disertai dengan kelainan metabolisme karbohidrat, protein, dan lemak akibat kurang insulin baik karena disfungsi pankreas ataupun disfungsi insulin absolut. Anxiety is a feeling of not relaxing because of fear that is accompanied by a response. Treatment of anxiety that occurs in primigravida mothers can be done with non-pharmacological therapy, one of which is autogenic relaxation. The research objective was to study the effect of autogenic relaxation techniques on anxiety levels in third trimester mothers in the working area of ??the Kembang Mumpo Health Center. This type of research is pre-experimental, with a one group pre-test and post test design. The population in this study were 21 third trimester pregnant women at the end of the June-July period who experienced anxiety. Sampling in the study with a Purposive sampling technique, namely 10 people. The analysis technique used is the T-test statistical test. The results of the univariate analysis showed that the average anxiety level of third trimester pregnant women before autogenic relaxation techniques was performed was 24.7. The average level of anxiety of third trimester pregnant women after autogenic relaxation techniques was 18.8. The results of the bivariate analysis obtained the value of ?Value = 0.000 <? (0.05). It was concluded that there was an effect of autogenic relaxation techniques on the anxiety level of third trimester pregnant women in the Kembang Mumpo Health Center Work Area. The results of this study are expected to incorporate autogenic relaxation techniques into the health workers' monthly activity agenda for handling anxiety in pregnant women. Especially for midwives, it is hoped that they will be able to equip themselves with various safe methods, namely relaxation. One of them is autogenic relaxation which is useful for helping midwives in overcoming client problems, especially pregnant women with anxiety.

Hypertension case is increasing from year to years. Based on World Health Organization (WHO) data in 2015 showed around 1.13 billion people in the world have hypertension, meaning 1 in 3 people in the world are diagnosed with hypertension. Hypertension is often referred to as a "silent killer", because many people with hypertension do not feel any signs and symptoms, and then after some years they experience complications. One way to control blood pressure in hypertensive patients is to use non-pharmacological therapy interventions. One of them is to use autogenic relaxation methods. Autogenic relaxation is a method that comes from self and body awareness by controlling muscle and liver tension for the improvement of high blood pressure caused mainly by stress. Autogenic relaxation will help the body to carry commands through autosuggestion to relax so that it can control blood pressure, heart rate and body temperature. The purpose of this study is to describe the influence of autogenic relaxation to decrease the blood pressure of hypertensive patients. This study uses the literature review method. The result of this study shows that several literatures on autogenic relaxation proved that this intervention is very effective for hypertensive patients and can be used as a complementary intervention in hypertensive patients.

A significant percentage of stroke survivors are reported to have anxiety and depression.  Autogenic Relaxation Training (ART), a psychophysiological self-control therapy which aims to induce relaxation proved to be effective in reducing the anxiety and depression in some health conditions. However, there is lack of studies which evaluated the effects of ART in the rehabilitation of stroke survivors. The aim of this experimental pilot study is to evaluate the feasibility and outcomes of ART in addition to usual physiotherapy for stroke survivors. A total of 14 sub-acute stroke survivors from a teaching hospital were enrolled in this study. All participants received 20 minutes ART followed by 40 minutes usual physiotherapy once a week and they were requested to carry out the intervention at home for twice per week, for six weeks. Intervention outcomes were assessed using Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS-A and HADS-D), Barthel Index (BI), Timed Up and Go (TUG) and EuroQol 5-Dimension 5 Levels (EQ5D5L). Changes in all outcome measures were analysed using paired t-test and Wilcoxon signed rank test, with level of significance set at p<0.05. Post-intervention, there is statistically significant reduction of the HADS-A (p=0.04), HADS-D (p=0.02), TUG (p=0.004) and EQ5D5L (p=0.03) scores of the participants. Although not statistically significant, the mean score ± SD of BI increased from 95 ± 12.5 to 100 ± 6.25. The intervention is feasible and acceptable by the stroke survivors with no adverse events reported. In conclusion, ART in addition to usual physiotherapy is feasible and beneficial in reducing anxiety and depression, and improving functional ability, mobility and quality of life among stroke survivors.

Anxiety can be overcome by non-pharmacological anxiety management, for example by relaxation therapy, which is a therapy that is often used to overcome anxiety or negative emotions using various types of relaxation. The purpose of this literature review is to examine the results of the past 10 years of research related to the effect of relaxation therapy on reducing anxiety in post-sectio caesarean mothers. The method used in the preparation of a literature review is to search for several articles by searching through nursing journals, science direct, google scholar, Pubmed, and EBSCO. The results of 8 previous research articles showed that relaxation therapy was effective in reducing maternal anxiety levels. Although there are various types of relaxation techniques autogenic relaxation has a medium-high effect size and is recommended for dealing with anxiety compared to other relaxation techniques
