Abstract Background Dynamic knee valgus (DKV) is a common lower extremity movement disorder among females. This study aimed to investigate kinematic couplings between lower extremity joints in female junior athletes with DKV during single and double-leg landing and gait. Methods Twenty-six physically active female junior athletes (10–14 years old) with DKV were recruited. Kinematic couplings between rearfoot, tibia, knee, and hip were extracted using eight Vicon motion capture cameras and two force plates. Zero-lag cross-correlation coefficient and vector coding were used to calculate kinematic couplings between joints during physical tasks. Paired t-test and Wilcoxon tests were run to find significant couplings between joint motions and coupling strengths. Bonferroni posthoc was used to determine significance with α ≤ 0.05. Results The results showed that the strongest kinematic relationship existed between rearfoot eversion/inversion and tibial internal/external rotation during all three tasks. Correlations of the rearfoot supination/pronation with tibial rotations, knee, and hip motions in sagittal, frontal, and transverse planes were very strong to strong during double-leg landing and moderate to weak during gait. A weak correlation was observed between rearfoot supination/pronation and hip adduction/abduction during single-leg landing. Conclusions Coupling relationships between rearfoot, knee, and hip vary by the task intensity and alignment profiles in female juniors with DKV.

BackgroundSARS-CoV-2 infection might be associated with cardiac complications in low-risk populations, such as in competitive athletes. However, data obtained in adults cannot be directly transferred to preadolescents and adolescents who are less susceptible to adverse clinical outcomes and are often asymptomatic.ObjectivesWe conducted this prospective multicentre study to describe the incidence of cardiovascular complications following SARS-CoV-2 infection in a large cohort of junior athletes and to examine the effectiveness of a screening protocol for a safe return to play.MethodsJunior competitive athletes suffering from asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infection underwent cardiac screening, including physical examination, 12-lead resting ECG, echocardiogram and exercise ECG testing. Further investigations were performed in cases of abnormal findings.ResultsA total of 571 competitive junior athletes (14.3±2.5 years) were evaluated. About half of the population (50.3%) was mildly symptomatic during SARS-CoV-2 infection, and the average duration of symptoms was 4±1 days. Pericardial involvement was found in 3.2% of junior athletes: small pericardial effusion (2.6%), moderate pericardial effusion (0.2%) and pericarditis (0.4%). No relevant arrhythmias or myocardial inflammation was found in subjects with pericardial involvement. Athletes with pericarditis or moderate pericardial effusion were temporarily disqualified, and a gradual return to play was achieved after complete clinical resolution.ConclusionsThe prevalence of cardiac involvement was low in junior athletes after asymptomatic or mild SARS-CoV-2 infection. A screening strategy primarily driven by cardiac symptoms should detect cardiac involvement from SARS-CoV-2 infection in most junior athletes. Systematic echocardiographic screening is not recommended in junior athletes.

This study aims to determine the contribution of PNF training and Shuttle Run training to Dollyo Chagi's kicking ability in male Pre-Junior athletes aged 10-13 years Tiger Sumatra Taekwondo Club Binjai 2021. The method used in this study is an experimental method with data collection techniques involving two independent variables, namely PNF and Shuttle Run on the dependent variable dollyo chagi kick ability. The population in this study amounted to 30 athletes, and the sample in this study amounted to 10 athletes who were selected by purposive sampling method. The design of this study used a post-test one group design. The results of this study indicate that (1) There is There is a contribution of PNF training to the dollyo chagi kick ability of 79% (2) There is a contribution of Shuttle Run training to the dollyo chagi kick ability 19.2%, (3) There is a contribution of PNF and Shuttle Run training to the dollyo chagi kicking ability known by looking at the value of R (r2 x 100%). The value of r2 is 0.911, so it is known that the amount of contribution is 91.1%.

Competitions in sport games can cause athletes to become overly immersed, and it can lead to violent incidents. In Korea, structural violence and animosity between senior and junior athletes and between coaches and athletes have been rampant in the field of sports (Sohn, 2011). Although criminal acts under the code of criminal procedure have been applied in many different cases of violence and the perpetrators have been punished, structural violence in sports community is still a chronic problem in Korea. The purpose of this study was to find and analyze specific examples of structural violence and actual cases of sports crimes occurring in sports to present countermeasures and mitigation measures against structural violence in the Korean sports community.

Dynamically squeezing the left hand (left hand dynamic handgrip) has been shown to be effective in preventing choking under pressure in right-handers in a variety of sports. The current study assessed the effectiveness of the left hand dynamic handgrip in preventing a loss of accuracy of tennis serves in competitive situations. Twenty right-handed highly skilled junior athletes performed eight tennis serves at a target without pressure (pre-test), followed by eight serves under pressure (post-test). Ten of the participants conducted the left hand dynamic handgrip prior to the post-test, while the other ten performed an equivalent handgrip with their right hand. The serving accuracy of the group performing the handgrip with their right hand decreased significantly from pre- to post-test, while the accuracy of the left hand dynamic handgrip group remained stable. The results indicate the left hand dynamic handgrip to be effective in preventing reduced accuracy of the tennis serve in competition situations as a form of choking under pressure. This technique could easily be integrated into tennis players’ serving routines and promote stable match performance in competitions.

Introduction: Agility score is important in setting the rehabilitation’s goal of injured athlete. More agility requirement needs more rehabilitation effort. The aim of this study is to measure the agility score of junior soccer athletes in Jakarta and compare the agility score based on athlete’s playing positions. Methods: Agility score of 65 junior athletes measured using T-Agility test. Subjects categorized based on playing positions which are defender, midfielder and forward. Mean agility score of each group was then compared. Data analyzed using descriptive analysis and one-way annova. Results: The mean agility score is 10.89 ± 0.47 seconds. The mean agility score in defender is 11.02 ± 0.51, midfielder 10.79 ± 0.41 and forward 10.73 ± 0.47. No significance statistical difference between the three groups (p=0,70). Conclusion: Agility score of junior soccer athletes in Jakarta using the T-Agility test is 10.89 ± 0.47 seconds and may illustrate the risk of sport injury. The forward soccer player has higher agility score compared to the midfielder and defender.

The study is conducted based on a trainer's difficulty in improving the speed of kicks and agility of taekwondo junior athletes. This condition is a consideration for trainers to develop a proper and measurable cirquit SAQ training program to improve kick speed and agility for taekwondo novice athletes. This study aims to find out the effect of SAQ cirquit exercises with kick speed and agility. The research method used is an experimental method with equivalent time series design research design. The research is conducted for 6 weeks with a frequency of 1 week 3 exercises and consists of 3 series. Every 4 weeks it is done postest with design; (1) pre-test-treatment-portest stage 1, and (2) pre test-postest-postest stage 2. Data analysis technique uses t test with significance level 0.05. The results conclude that; (1) there is a significant influence between cirquit SAQ exercises on the kick speed of taekwondo junior athletes. (2) there is a significant influence between cirquit SAQ exercises on the agility of taekwondo junior athletes. From the results of this study, researchers expect that there will be recommendations to be used as further considerations for the future so that this study is more in-depth related to SAQ exercises, and hopefully this study can be a reference material for other researchers who want to research about the influence of SAQ exercises.
