Abstract The recognition of the importance of early childhood education (ECE) has been growing continuously in recent years. Early childhood institutions are where professional pedagogy and child-rearing practices meet first in someones' life (Tobin et al., 2009), it has great significance in education. Acknowledgement of the existence of the needs of young children's education is evident, however, we have limited chances to compare different education systems outside of Europe and the United States. Realizing this situation, we came to the conclusion that it is highly necessary and required to publish such an analytical issue in the Hungarian Education Research Journal. Teacher's views and their narratives of childhood are relevant if we aim to understand the fundamental differences of ECE institutions in any region or country. In our present investigation we collected data from Hungary, Laos and Malaysia in order to acquire greater knowledge on the conceptions of early childhood in the three countries. We assumed however that the teachers' qualification and the early childcare system is diverse, yet we have found similarities among the teachers' perception.

Pembelajaran dilaksanakan melalui pemberian tugas melalui panduan belajar anak selama satu minggu yang dikirimkan melalui media aplikasi Whatsapp Group orangtua siswa. This research was motivated by the existence of a new policy on the implementation of Learning from Home (BDR) during the COVID-19 pandemic which prioritized the safety and health of students and all levels of educators at early childhood institutions. This condition has implications for such institutions, especially in early childhood spiritual education which should also be conducted online. This is a case study which aims to explore the online spiritual education for preschool children that covers the learning process and the teacher's assessment of learning during the pandemic. Qualitative approach was used to gather the information through interviews to teachers and headmasters and documentation on the implementation of children's online spiritual learning at TK Omah Dolanan Yogyakarta. The results show that the implementation of early childhood spiritual learning in this institution is in accordance with the 2013 curriculum during the online learning system. Learning is carried out through giving assignments in the form of broncasthing or children's study guides for one week which are sent through the WhastApp Group application media. The spiritual learning material is adjusted to the religion of each child. Parent guide children in spiritual activities then document their learning outcomes in the form of videos and pictures. The evaluation is not effective in the learning process, namely the lack of teacher capacity and the  inadequacy in monitoring and guiding children during the spiritual learning process. Some children were not participating maximally in the learning process, so this resulted in a decrease in the assessment of spiritual learning in this early childhood institutions.

This study aims at describing and analyzing the internalization of national awareness through raudlotul athfal (RA; an Islamic early childhood education institution) with the spirit of Aswaja an-Nahdliyah. Aswaja an-Nahdliyah is an ideology adopted by Nahdlatul Ulama, a major Islamic religious organization in Indonesia. This study argues that the internalization of the national awareness needs to be instilled from early age to anticipate the influence of globalization which is feared to erode the original character of a nation. Within the study, the qualitative method was adopted in order to answer two research questions: (1) how Islamic early childhood educational institutions develop nationalism awareness through the teachings of Ahlusunnah wal Jamaah; and (2) how the institutions construct the awareness of nationalism through the teachings of Ahlusunnah wal Jamaah. The results of the study show that the internalization of nationalism awareness through Islamic early childhood education institutions with the Aswaja an-Nahdliyah’s spirit has been carried out through curriculum content which has been systematically arranged in each research subject with the principle of considering early childhood characteristics. At the same time, the results of the study also show that the construction of nationalism awareness in the Islamic early childhood education institutions can be seen in Islamic holidays and national activities which were held on the Islamic early childhood institutions.

Guidance and counseling in early childhood institutions should not only be given to those who have problem behaviors, but must also be given to children who are in the process of growth and development. In early childhood, guidance and counseling is based on how to make the child's growth reach an optimal point, both physical motor, psychological and socio emotional. The process is mostly done by playing, singing, dancing and others. Traditional games can be used as a medium of guidance and counseling for early childhood. Types of traditional games are very good for children's development such as dexterity, creativity, social, and so on. In terms of benefits, traditional game is certainly very different from most modern games today, which do not use physical activity (silence) by staring at mobile screens and individualists, which of course results in the physical, and socio emotional development and physical growth of children not running optimally. For this reason, it is necessary to preserve the traditional game culture through creativity in order to preserve local wisdom as well as efforts to develop media for guidance and counseling for young children.
