Рассмотрены технологические свойства табачного сырья скелетного типа сорта Юбилейный с шириной табачного волокна 0,5 и 0,8 мм и табачной мешки американского типа с шириной волокна 0,6 и 0,9 мм, использованных для изготовления изделий из табака курительного тонкорезаного. Выявлено, что у табака сорта Юбилейный с шириной волокна 0,8 мм наибольший условный расход на изготовление 1000 шт. изделий. Проведен анализ состава и воздухопроницаемости сигаретной бумаги для изготовления курительных изделий разных диаметров. Исследовано влияние физических параметров изделий из табака курительного тонкорезаного (диаметр, ширина табачного волокна, воздухопроницаемость сигаретной бумаги) на химический состав дыма (никотин, смола, монооксид углерода). Установлено, что увеличение ширины табачного волокна привело к значительному повышению содержания никотина и смолы в дыме изделий с табаком сорта Юбилейный; в дыме курительных изделий с американской мешкой столь четкой корреляции не наблюдалось. При использовании бумаги на основе конопли с меньшей, чем в бумаге с рисовой основой, воздухопроницаемостью в дыме курительных изделий возрастала концентрация как никотина, так и смолы, содержание которой в дыме образцов изделий с табаком сорта Юбилейный при ширине волокна 0,5 мм повышалось на 4–23%, при ширине волокна 0,8 мм – на 6–13%; с американской мешкой при ширине волокна 0,6 мм возрастало на 7–11%, при ширине волокна 0,9 мм – на 2–4%. Результаты исследований помогут выработать рекомендации для производителей и потребителей этого вида продукции. The paper considers the technological properties of skeletal-type tobacco raw materials of the Yubileynyy variety with a fiber width of 0,5 and 0,8 mm and American-type tobacco bags with a fiber width of 0,6 and 0,9 mm, used for the manufacture of products from thin-cut smoking tobacco. It was revealed that tobacco of the Yubileynyy variety with a fiber width of 0,8 mm has the highest conventional consumption for the manufacture of 1000 pieces products. The analysis of the composition and air permeability of cigarette paper for the manufacture of smoking products of different diameters was carried out. The influence of the physical parameters of tobacco products made of thin-cut tobacco (diameter, width of tobacco fiber, breathability of cigarette paper) on the chemical composition of smoke (nicotine, tar, carbon monoxide) is investigated. It was found that an increase in the width of tobacco fiber led to a significant increase in the content of nicotine and tar in the smoke of tobacco products of the Yubileynyy variety; such a clear correlation was not observed in the smoke of smoking products with an American-type. When using hemp-based paper with less air permeability than in rice-based paper, the concentration of nicotine and tar in the smoke of smoking products increased. The tar content in the smoke of samples of tobacco products of the Yubileynyy variety with a fiber width of 0,5 mm increased by 4–23%, with a fiber width of 0,8 mm – by 6–13%; with an American-type with a fiber width of 0,6 mm increased by 7–11%, with a fiber width of 0,9 mm – by 2–4%. The research results will help to develop recommendations for manufacturers and consumers of this type of products.

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in tobacco tar are regarded as a significant threat to human health. PAHs are formed due to the incomplete combustion of organics in tobacco and cigarette paper. Herein, for the first time, we extended the application of CsPbBr3 quantum dots (CsPbBr3) to the photocatalytic degradation of tobacco tar, which was collected from used cigarette filters. To optimize the photoactivity, CsPbBr3 was coupled with Bi2WO6 for the construction of a type-II photocatalyst. The photocatalytic performance of the CsPbBr3/Bi2WO6 composite was evaluated by the degradation rate of PAHs from tobacco tar under simulated solar irradiation. The results revealed that CsPbBr3/Bi2WO6 possesses a large specific surface area, outstanding absorption ability, good light absorption and rapid charge separation. As a result, in addition to good stability, the composite photocatalyst performed remarkably well in degrading PAHs (over 96% were removed in 50 mins of irradiation by AM 1.5 G). This study sheds light on promising novel applications of halide perovskite.

Abstract Background: Kindler syndrome (KNDLRS) is a very rare autosomal recessive disorder characterized by bullous poikiloderma with photosensitivity. Loss-of-function mutations in FERMT1, which located on chromosome 20p12.3, were responsible for KNDLRS. Numerous mutations in FERMT1 have been reported to be associated with KNDLRS. Results: The present study reported two Chinese KNDLRS families, and affected individuals from both families presented with poikiloderma, palmoplantar hyperkeratosis, and diffuse cigarette paper like atrophy on hands. Skin biopsy of the proband from family 2 showed atrophy of epidermis, hyperkeratosis, dilated blood vessels in upper dermis, and microbubbles at the dermis and epidermis junction. Medical Whole Exome Sequencing V4 combined with Sanger sequencing revealed mutations in FERMT1 with affected individuals. Compound heterozygous nonsense mutations (c.193C>T, c.277C>T) were found with family 1, and a homozygous frameshift mutation (c.220delC) was observed in family 2. According to the clinical features and genetic analysis, KNDLRS was diagnosed in two Chinese families. Conclusions: This study revealed two novel pathogenic mutations in FERMT1 that caused KNDLRS and briefly summarized all pathogenic mutations in FERMT1 that have been documented via the PubMed.

Abstract The ash condensation ability of the cigarette paper is an important factor affecting the cigarette grades. In this study, we put forward an effective method of improving this ability. Xanthan gum was successfully synthesized, applied as an ash integrator in the dip-coating process of cigarette paper production, and showed good performance. Cationic guar gum, cellulose phosphate and Hydroxyapatite (HAP) have been added in the pulp and showed better performance of the ash condensation property. The ash become much whiter and the scatter of the ash have been suppressed. Moreover, the further addition of HAP would result in a worse combustion efficiency, leading to the burning out of the cigarette in early time.

The dynamic research status of three processes in chemical protection technology, namely, adsorption of steam by activated carbon, permeation of solvent by polymer film and filtering aerosol by cigarette paper were studied in this paper. The advantages and disadvantages of each model were analyzed, and the dynamic behaviors of the three processes were fully understood, which can effectively guide the research and development of chemical defense equipment and chemical defense of troops. It provides a reference for the study of the dynamic theory of the three processes.

Nipa palms, a plant species in mangrove forest, are valuable and beneficial for the local community’s economy as well as the conservation in the southern region of Thailand. This study aimed to investigate the use of nipa palms in Khanap Nak and focused on the type of products made from nipa palms and the yield of this plant through focus group discussion and interview with the farmers maintaining nipa palm forest. The results suggested that nipa palms in Khanap Nak can yield for 5–100 years. Apart from the benefits to the community in terms of sustainability, as it prevents erosion, it provides sources for the production of food (molasses, granulated sugar, syrup, and vinegar from sap) and raw materials (roofing material and cigarette paper from leaves and stem), which can generate income to community members. It was found that most of the communities earn 90–130 USD/day from palm sugar production. The quantity of nipa palm products varies in each season, resulting in different prices. In this regard, they can produce high quantity of products made from sap from January to March. However, the production of different types of sugar requires local knowledge and wisdom to ensure good quality. Nipa palm production is the sustainable way to utilize mangrove forest resources, leading to effective conservation and good life quality. Regarding problems and difficulties in farming, it was found that natural disaster is a major threat, such as drought, excessive amount of salt or freshwater in certain periods, and insect pests.

Of course, the use of low-quality product from cigarette manufacturers harms not only the human body but also the environment. Purpose. Determine the quality and environmental safety (presence of concentrations of heavy metals) of tobacco, cigarette paper and cigarette filters of domestic and foreign brands. Methods. Methods of atomic absorption spectrometry using the atomic absorption spectrometer MGA 915 MD. Results. Experimental studies by atomic absorption analysis on the concentrations of heavy metals in tobacco, cigarette filters and paper showed the presence of heavy metals: Mn, Zn, Cu, Cr, Cd, Pb. Studies of various tobacco brands have found that the highest concentrations of heavy metals were in the tobacco of the cheapest cigarettes (up to 150 mg / kg), in cigarette paper found only Mn, Zn., When comparing the content of the most toxic heavy metals Cd and Pb in the cigarettes "Parliament" and "Kyiv" and "LM" it was determined that in the tobacco of "Parliament" cigarettes HM concentrations are 7–10 times lower.. Conclusions. There is a tendency to decrease the concentration of heavy metals in the components of cigarettes depending on the price category of the tobacco product. Thus, for the most part, the components of cigarettes of domestic brands have tens of times higher concentrations of heavy metals than cigarettes of the American manufacturer.

Mesin Hydropulper adalah mesin yang digunakan dalam proses mengaduk dan menyalurkan paper pulp (bubur kertas) dari serat kayu menggunakan agitator. Paper pulp yang diolah ini terdiri atas 2 macam, yaitu : Leaf Bleached Kraft Pulp (LBKP) atau kayu kaku (hard wood) dengan serat yang pendek dan kaku untuk membuat formasi kertas menjadi halus. Kedua, Needle Bleached Kraft Pulp (NBKP) atau soft wood dengan serat yang panjang dan elastis untuk memperkuat formasi kertas. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis proses perawatan mesin Hydropulper 31L008 (Cigarette Paper Manufacturer) untuk mengetahui nilai ekonomis dalam proses pelumasan. Proses perawatan pencegahan ini dilakukan pada saat mesin ON atau berupaya meningkatkan rata-rata waktu antar kegagalan dan menurunkan rata-rata waktu perbaikan, agar kapasitas produksi yang mencapai 20 ton per hari tetap bisa terpenuhi. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis deskriptif kualitatif  berdasarkan pola perawatan yang ada. Hasil dari penelitian ini diperoleh nilai ekonomis melalui proses lubrikasi terhadap komponen bearing sebesar Rp 1.214.450 selama satu tahun atau lebih hemat sekitar 82% dalam kurun waktu lima tahun untuk siklus penggantian bearing pada kondisi mesin OFF yang mencapai Rp 35.000.000.
