Abstract Learning environment designs at the boundary of school and work can be characterised as integrative because they integrate features from the contexts of school and work. Many different manifestations of such integrative learning environments are found in current vocational education, both in senior secondary education and higher professional education. However, limited research has focused on how to design these learning environments and not much is known about their designable elements (i.e. the epistemic, spatial, instrumental, temporal and social elements that constitute the learning environments). The purpose of this study was to examine manifestations of two categories of integrative learning environment designs: designs based on incorporation; and designs based on hybridisation. Cross-case analysis of six cases in senior secondary vocational education and higher professional education in the Netherlands led to insights into the designable elements of both categories of designs. We report findings about the epistemic, spatial, instrumental, temporal and social elements of the studied cases. Specific characteristics of designs based on incorporation and designs based on hybridisation were identified and links between the designable elements became apparent, thus contributing to a deeper understanding of the design of learning environments that aim to connect the contexts of school and work.

One of the topical fields of modern education is implementation of an inclusive approach which makes it possible to get equal rights and access to education for students without regard for their health condition. The purpose of the article is to carry out the analysis of the inclusive components of learning environment in educational institutions and of higher and secondary professional education (using the city of Volgograd and the Volgograd Region as an example). As a part of the study, an integrated model for inclusive educational environment, which contains technology (psycho-didactic), space-object, social and process components, was developed. Relying on this model, analysis and assessment of the state of the learning environment in educational institutions and of higher and secondary professional education of Volgograd and the Volgograd Region were made. The results showed that each educational institution has its own specific way of organizing inclusive environment; there is no common standard for its implementation. The research possesses both theoretical significance and applied functions so far as with the help of this model it is possible to assess the state of learning environment and building a unified educational system on the basis of all its components.

The article discusses the process of the digitalization of the educational organization of secondary vocational education. When automating routine processes, at some point, problems may arise in the transition from solving local accounting problems to submitting regulated reports. Often, digitalization becomes the only possible solution to the problems of combining the performance of job tasks based on data from various departments. This is especially evident when implementing integration with external federal information systems. The development of digital services for students with the help of the information service “NaLentu!” (”Go to a Class!”) is shown. Based on it, the mailing of the schedule, the “digital student’s record-book”, and the order of documents are implemented. It is described how one of the federal systems became the reason for the digitalization of processes in social accounting, the appointment and accrual of grants. The problems of the implementation of the accounting system on the part of employees, in particular, the perception by some of them of digitalization as a threat to their interests, are indicated. Further automation trends after the implementation of information systems in the decision of the central tasks of the educational organization are demonstrated. The stages of the introduction of information systems for accounting for vocational training and additional professional education are described, the analysis of the results of their implementation on the basis of College of Oil and Gas in Achinsk is given.
