Background: The term "ovarian cancer" includes several different types of cancer that  arise from cells of the ovary, most commonly, tumors arise from the epithelium or lining cells of the ovary.  Ovarian cancer risk is positively associated with higher consumption of dietary cholesterol and eggs, and inversely associated with a higher intake of vegetables. High consumption of fats may increase circulating estrogen levels, thus increasing the possibility of cell damage and proliferation that is responsible for cancerous growth. Material & Methods: The present study was conducted at Geetanjali Medical College and Hospital, Udaipur (Rajasthan). Total  100 cases (females) attending the obstetrics and gynecology department for some gynecological and other problem  were selected for this study between the age of 40-60 years, who were attending cancer centre at GEETANJALI MEDICAL COLLEGE AND  HOSPITAL, Udaipur (Rajasthan).                GROUP I: - It consisted of healthy females control subjects (n=50) .By routine examination and tests, we ensured that all the subjects were healthy and there were no signs and symptoms or history of ovarian tumor and diseases GROUP II: - It consisted of ovarian cancer females subjects (n=50) with a history of ovarian tumor. Results:   Higher level of cholesterol, LDL, VLDL and low level of HDL are found in ovarian cancer patients. Conclusion: The present study we highlights the importance and role of serum lipid profile in diagnosis, prognosis and recurrence of the disease. The study shows that serum level of cholesterol, LDL, VLDL was elevated in  patients of ovarian cancer while low level of HDL are found in ovarian cancer patients. AbstractWe report a case of ultrasound-guided ex vivo oocyte retrieval for fertility preservation in a woman with bilateral borderline ovarian tumor, for whom conventional transvaginal oocyte retrieval was deemed unsafe because of the increased risk of malignant cell spillage. Ovarian stimulation with gonadotropins was performed. Surgery was scheduled according to the ovarian response to exogenous gonadotropic stimulation; oophorectomized specimens were obtained by laparoscopy, and oocyte retrieval was performed ∼ 37 hours after the ovulatory trigger. The sum of 20 ovarian follicles were aspirated, and 16 oocytes were obtained. We performed vitrification of 12 metaphase II oocytes and 3 oocytes matured in vitro. Our result emphasizes the viability of ex vivo mature oocyte retrieval after controlled ovarian stimulation for those with high risk of malignant dissemination by conventional approach.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is ranked as the second most commonly diagnosed disease in females and the third in males worldwide. Therefore, the finding of new more reliable biomarkers for early diagnosis, for prediction of metastasis, and resistance to conventional therapies is an important challenge in overcoming the disease. The current review presents circular RNAs (circRNAs) with their unique features as potential prognostic and diagnostic biomarkers in CRC. The review highlights the mechanism of action and the role of circRNAs with oncogenic functions in the CRC as well as the association between their expression and clinicopathological characteristics of CRC patients. The comprehension of the role of oncogenic circRNAs in CRC pathogenesis is growing rapidly and the next step is using them as suitable new drug targets in the personalized treatment of CRC patients.

Background: Several studies have assessed the relationship between long non-coding RNA five prime to Xist (FTX) expression, clinicopathological features, and survival outcomes in cancer patients with conflicting results. This meta-analysis synthesized existing data to clarify the association between FTX with cancer prognosis.Methods: PubMed, Embase, Cochrane library, Web of Science, Chinese CNKI, and the Chinese WanFang databases were used to search for relevant studies. Role of FTX in cancers was evaluated by pooled odds ratios (ORs) and hazard ratios (HRs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs).Results: Eleven studies comprising 1,210 participants including colorectal cancer (CRC), hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), gastric cancer (GC), renal cell carcinoma (RCC), osteosarcoma (OSC), and glioma were enrolled in this analysis. The meta-analysis showed that high FTX expression was significantly associated with several clinicopathological characteristics, including lymph node metastasis in patients with CRC, GC, HCC, and RCC, distant metastasis in patients with CRC, GC, HCC, and OSC, larger tumor size in patients with CRC, GC, HCC, RCC, and OSC, and subsequently TNM/clinical stage in patients with CRC, GC, HCC, OSC, and glioma. The pooled results from the survival analysis revealed a significant correlation between high FTX expression and shorter OS in patients with HCC, CRC, GC, OSC, and glioma. Further, FTX overexpression could be an independent predictive marker for shorter OS in patients with CRC, HCC, OSC, and glioma. Conclusions: FTX may be a potential oncogene, with high FTX expression being associated with a poorer prognosis in patients with CRC, HCC, OSC, and glioma

Abstract Background: microRNAs have been studied widely in hepatoblastoma. However, the role of miR-125b-5p and its relationship with the lncRNA sNEAT1 and YES1 in hepatoblastoma have not been reported previously. We aimed to reveal the role of NEAT1/miR-125b-5p/YES1 in the progression of hepatoblastoma.Methods: We collected tumor tissues and their adjacent tissues from 12 hepatoblastoma patients. qRT-PCR was applied to detect the expression of miR-125b-5p, and the relationship of miR-125b-5p with clinicopathological characteristics was analyzed. Dual luciferase reporter assays and RNA pull down assays were used to identify the relationships among NEAT1, miR-125b-5p and YES1. CCK8, Transwell assays and wound healing assays were used to examine cell viability, invasion and migration. In vivo experiments were also applied to detect the effect of miR-125b-5p on hepatoblastoma.Results: miR-125b-5p was significantly downregulated in hepatoblastoma tissue and cells. The higher the PRETEXT grade, the lower the miR-125b-5p level. NEAT1 could bind to miR-125b-5p and inhibit its expression. miR-125b-5p could target YES1 and inhibit its expression. Overexpression of miR-125b-5p decreased the proliferation, invasion, and migratory ability of hepatoblastoma cells. YES1 could rescue the above effects. At the same time, overexpression of miR-125b-5p resulted in decreased YES1 and tumor growth inhibition in vivo.Conclusion: miR-125b-5p acted as a shared miRNA of NEAT1 and YES1 in hepatoblastoma. Overexpression of miR-125b-5p could target YES1 and inhibit its expression, therefore inhibiting the progression of hepatoblastoma.

The article is a review of the literature, which analyzes the data on the role of cells of the immune system, cytokines and other biologically active substances secreted by them in the interstitial space of an ovarian tumor. The emphasis is made on the mechanism of realization by immune cells of the stimulating and suppressing action on the development of the tumor. Considerable attention is paid to the prognostic role of immune cells in the development of epithelial ovarian cancer.
