“Facilitating disaster nursing research in Oceania Region” Natural disasters in the Oceania region and surrounds include for example earthquakes, volcanic eruptions (Rabaul, PNG, 1994, Merapi, Indonesia 2006), tsunamis, floods,(Indian Ocean 2004) fires, drought (Australia, 2009) and also pest plaques and pandemics which affected the broader international community. Between 1980 and 2008, there were 380 disaster events reported in the Oceania region in which 4,450 people died. That is approximately 154 deaths and 668,786 people affected at a cost of approximately $US 889 million per year. However despite this significant number of deaths and injuries, there is limited reporting on the nursing experience during such disasters or the impact of nursing on communities during response and recovery. This is due to the prioritised clinical focus of nursing resources of most countries during these events. A network of authors and researchers is being established in the area to support the reporting of nursing research in developing countries such as Papua New Guinea, Fiji, the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, and Indonesia where nurses receive little post basic education, have limited opportunities to review the evidence for practice in disaster and emergency nursing, yet are regularly required to support the multidisciplinary disaster health team without essential support from the nursing research community. The network is essentially web-based and consists of a translational research approach via a network grid of researchers in response to a disaster event. Researchers from neighboring countries not clinically involved in the event respond by discovering and accessing data, analysing and reporting through a portal that enables timely reporting for discussion, publication, e-learning and dissemination of contemporary disaster nursing practices. This paper will report on the development of the network and its nexus with the WADEM Nursing Research Committee.

An e‑Learning project has been rolled out in Gauteng schools in an attempt to improve the quality of educationand move towards paperless classrooms. The purpose of this study was to investigate the challenges faced by Tshwane SouthSecondary Schools associated with the implementation of the e‑Learning project with a view to suggest possible solutions.The study followed a qualitative research approach with a case study research design. The study population consisted ofteachers, school management team (SMT), and learners. Purposive sampling was used to select three teachers, six learnersand three school management team members of the schools’ e‑Learning committees. Data was collected through individualsemi‑structure interviews and focus group interview. The Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluationmodel (ADDIE model) was used to provide a theoretical perspective on how instructional designers, training developers, andeducators should design and develop a program such as e‑Learning. The data was analysed using a thematic approach. Thestudy found that teachers were not adequately trained prior to the implementation of e‑Learning, which impacted negativelyon the project. Teachers had difficulty in operating the smartboards and accessing the learning resources that has beenloaded in the smartboards which affected the implementation of the project. The study concluded that poor planning on thesite of Department of Basic Education has resulted into challenges that hampered the implementation of e‑Learning. Thestudy recommends extensive training of both learners and teachers in the use of e‑Learning.

Purpose – The purpose of this study was to determine if Systems Development Methodologies (SDMs) are being utilised effectively in the development of Learning Management Systems (LMSs) in South Africa. With e-learning being a critical component of modern educational systems, it has become essential to ensure that LMSs of a high standard are being developed. In the field of SDMs, much research has been done and the value of SDMs is proven and documented. To enhance the chances of developing LMSs of outstanding quality, it is crucial that SDMs are applied efficiently, as they can have a significant impact on the development process. Design/methodology/approach – A positivistic research approach was followed. By utilising a survey as the main research method, quantitative data were generated. By statistically analysing the dataset, meaningful results were obtained. Findings – This study shed some light on how LMS procurement and development is being done in South Africa and revealed that the use of open-source systems currently exceeds the use of proprietary systems. The results of the research showed that SDMs (e.g. Rapid Application Development) are being used effectively in the development of e-learning systems. Strong relationships exist between many of the SDM factors identified (e.g. performance expectancy and the perceived support of the methodology) and the quality and productivity of the development process. This, in turn, has a strong influence on the impact SDMs have on the quality of LMSs. Originality/value – The study made a contribution to the discipline of information systems and, more specifically, LMSs, by providing insights with regard to the factors affecting the use and effectiveness of SDMs in developing LMSs. As far as could be ascertained, this study generated the first empirical data on the procurement and development of LMSs in South Africa.

This article reviewed the digital transformation of education in Oman. There are many problems facing regular education in Oman. In this study, the issue of digital transformation in Omani education is mainly discussed. The aim of this study is to review the impact of the environment, human and financial resources, and educational knowledge on the speed of digital transformation of education, as the speed of digital transformation leads to the development of digital transformation performance in the Sultanate of Oman. The results indicated that the environment, human resources, finance and knowledge have a significant impact on the performance of digital transformation. The inclusion of digital transformation revealed the conceptual model for the effect of complementary mediation on the relationship between digital knowledge and digital transformation as well as the performance of technology as a whole. This study demonstrates the importance of digital transformation along with e-learning and meeting user expectations. The Secondary Research Approach method was used by reviewing many articles from various sources such as websites, books, journals, and scholarly research, from July to November 2020.The results contributes significantly to both theory and practice by promoting the use of digital transformation.

The purpose of this study is to find out how librarians are prepared to deal with disasters (Disaster Planning) from biological factors (termites) and fire disasters in the Library of Indonesia Institute of the Arts of Surakarta. Various library threats or library assets from damage can be threats from natural disasters such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, floods, tsunamis, fires, and so on. Other damage threats can be caused by biological and chemical and human factors, such as theft, vandalism, and the like. This study uses a qualitative research approach, namely research that describes the phenomenon, digging data by interviews, observation, and documentation. Problems in qualitative research are still temporary, tentative, and will develop or change after the researcher is in the field. Qualitative research requires data sources from informants. The use of triangulation techniques is done to test the credibility of the data by checking the data to the same source with different techniques. For example, data obtained by interview, then checked by observation, documentation, or questionnaire. Good planning in dealing with disasters will reduce the impact, including preparedness and long-term risk reduction measures. Matthews (2009) states that there are several steps or stages in disaster planning, including 1) prevention, 2) responses. The results of this research could theoretically contribute to scientific treasures for librarians in dealing with disasters (Disaster Planning) in the library. Besides, it is an input or recommendation and thought for the Indonesian Institute of the Arts of Surakarta.Keywords: librarian’s alert, disaster planning, biological (termite), fire

Background: The classical characterization of disaster is unfamiliarity, unpredictability, uncertainty, vulnerability, urgency, intensity and danger. Major disasters include earthquake, landslides, volcanic eruptions, floods hurricanes, fires, tornados, blizzards, tsunamis, cyclones. Apart from causing deaths and severe ill health, disasters also lead to large scale displacement, injuries, epidemics and substantial economic losses to the communities. Though every emergency or disaster has it’s own characteristics and demands but the basic measures under disaster management include prevention, mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery for which regular training and awareness activities are needed especially among students. The objective of the study was to assess the extent of awareness about disasters and their management among school going children.Methods: It was an educational interventional design with an exploratory research approach adopting non- probability purposive sampling technique. Kendriya vidhyalaya no: 4 affiliated to CBSE was randomly selected, which is situated in mid of the Gwalior town. Survey method was employed, on 110 participants aged between 12 and 16 years using a pre-tested semi structured questionnaire data sheet.Results: The outcome revealed that out of 110 students 87.2% (before intervention) and 98.2% (after intervention) had knowledge of disaster management.Conclusions: These findings emphasize that the extent of knowledge is not yet satisfactory and there is a severe need of providing knowledge to the school children. Disaster management can be compulsorily included in academic curriculum of all the students. Effective, purposeful training and awareness programmes are to be timely conducted.

The research objective is to analyze the impact of the participation of online  ICT teacher training to increase the number of accessibility the learning content of features in Rumah Belajar. This research used the quantitative research approach with descriptive quantitative analysis methods to be able to describe how the increase in accessibility features of Rumah Belajar and utilization in learning in school. Samples were selected in this study are all online training participants at 15 locations online training that has been conducted by Pustekkom in 2015 and 2016 in 2015. The data was collected using a questionnaire and a list of open questions in accordance with the purpose of research. The results showed that 1) online ICT teacher training participants, after completing the Pustekkom  training online  using become more motivated to access other feature in Rumah Belajar; 2) The order of the percentage of the intensity level of accessibility to the other features of Rumah Belajar are: Sumber Belajar 23%, BSE 23%, Bank Soal 21%, Kelas Maya 13%, Lab Maya 6%, Karya Guru 4%, Wahana Jelajah Angkasa 4%, Peta Budaya 4% and Karya Komunitas 2%, and ICT training online using the application PKB Rumah Belajar can be used as a reference for efforts to develop a web-based learning applications, in particular for the development of Rumah belajar portal belongs Pustekkom Kemendikbud. Tujuan penelitian yaitu untuk menganalisis dampak keikutsertaan diklat online  TIK guru Belajar terhadap peningkatan jumlah aksebilitas konten pembelajaran pada fitur-fitur rumah belajar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode analisis kuantitatif secara deskriptif untuk bisa menggambarkan bagaimana peningkatan aksesbilitas fitur-fitur rumah belajar dan pemanfaatannya dalam pembelajaran di sekolah. Sampel yang dipilih dalam penelitian ini adalah semua peserta diklat online  pada 15 lokasi diklat online yang telah dilaksanakan oleh Pustekkom pada tahun 2015 dan 2016. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner dan daftar pertanyaan terbuka sesuai dengan tujuan penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) peserta diklat online TIK Guru, setelah mengikuti diklat online Pustekkom, menjadi lebih termotivasi untuk mengakses fitur-fitur lainnya dalam Rumah Belajar; 2) Urutan prosentase tingkat intensitas aksesbilitas terhadap fitur-fitur Rumbel selain Pengembangan Keprofesian berkelanjutan (PKB) adalah: Sumber Belajar 23%, Buku Sekolah Elektronik (BSE) 23%, Bank Soal 21%, Kelas Maya 13%, Lab Maya 6%, Karya Guru 4%, Wahana Jelajah Angkasa 4%, Peta Budaya 4% dan Karya Komunitas 2%; dan 3) diklat online TIK menggunakan aplikasi PKB. Rumah belajar bisa dijadikan referensi bagi upaya pengembangan aplikasi pembelajaran berbasis web, khususnya bagi pengembangan portal Rumah Belajar milik Pustekkom Kemendikbud.

The impact of the last global economic crisis (2008) on the European economy put a strain on higher education (HE), yet it also pushed the sector towards intensive reforms and improvements. This paper focuses on the “Strategy for the Development of Higher Education in the Republic of Bulgaria 2014-2020”. With a case study methodology, we explore the strategic endeavours of the Bulgarian government to comply with the European directions and to secure sustainable growth for the HE sector. Our research question is ‘How capable is the Bulgarian HE Strategy to overcome the economic and systemic restraints of Bulgarian higher education?’. Because the development of strategies for HE within the EU is highly contextual, a single qualitative case study was chosen as the research approach. HE institutions are not ivory towers, but subjects to a variety of external and internal forces. Within the EU, this is obviated by the fact that Universities obtain their funds from institutions such as governments, students and their families, donors, as well as EU-level programmes. Therefore, to explore how these pressures interact to affect strategic action on national level, the case method is well suited as it enabled us to study the phenomena thoroughly and deeply. The paper suggests the actions proposed within the Strategy have the potential to overcome the delay, the regional isolation and the negative impact of the economic crisis on the country. Nevertheless, the key elements on which the success or failure of this Strategy hinges are the control mechanisms and the approach to implementation. Shortcomings in these two aspects of strategic actions in HE seem to mark the difference between gaining long-term benefits and merely saving face in front of international institutions.

CSR has become one of the imperative implements in satisfying customers. The impartial of this research is to calculate CSR, relationship marketing, and customer satisfaction. There is no more study accompanied in Pakistan to quantify the effect of CSR and relationship marketing on the relationship maintainer and customer loyalty. To find out deductive approach and survey method is used as research approach and research strategy respectively. This research design is descriptive and quantitative study. For data, collection questionnaire method with semantic differential scale and seven point scales are adopted. Data has been collected by adopting the non-probability convenience technique as sampling technique and the sample size is 400. For factor confirmatory factor analysis, structure equation modeling and medication analysis, regression analysis Amos software were used. Strong empirical evidence supports that the customer’s perception of CSR performance is highly influenced by the values

The article discusses the automation of the creation and use of e-learning programs. The impact of automating the learning of a large number of users on the effectiveness of the introduction of a new software product is analyzed. The methods and algorithms that increase the efficiency of creating electronic training programs on example of the author’s automated system “Tutor Builder” are described. The results of experimental verification of the automated system are provided.
