SummaryThis article describes the main results of separate online surveys on two partly differentiated Italian Internet audiences. It argues that the two show more traits in common than dissimilarities and that their common characteristics are widely shared by the millions of Italian Internet users. On a comparison of the sample to the country as a whole, it emerges as better educated, more open-minded, more affluent, and young to middle-aged. These Internet audiences do not trust television, they rely on the Internet to provide them with news, entertainment, goods and services, and they are quite similar to other Internet users elsewhere in western Europe.

The article focuses on functional speech genres used on the Internet to assess the level of customer satisfaction after purchasing goods and services on portals with various offers. It attempts to define what genre is used in the texts called commentaries, evaluations, opinions and consumer reviews. Both Internet users and providers of goods and services use these terms interchangeably. The situation may result from the fact that in the ordinary mind, they constitute one genre. The text introduces the research on the statements of internet users expressing their opinion on the transaction, the purchased products, and the service provided. Nowadays, the Internet has such a large social impact that it is important to examine the changes in speech genres existing in the Internet space in relation to their prototypes derived from the literary tradition.

Though the Internet continuously gains much popularity on a global scale, marketing research reveals enormous national differences and disparities in the numbers of Internet users worldwide. To date, most users still live in North America, in the Asia Pacific Basin, and in Western Europe. In response, an increasing body of research on global Internet usage, interface design, and Web site usability has been undertaken by human-computer-interaction (HCI) and localization specialists during the past few years. Similarly, questions of global standardization vs. local adaptation are also central to international marketing, research on consumer behavior, and marketing communications. Since the Internet, including its most popular usage platform, the World Wide Web (WWW), is part of the media, its culture-specific potential and conditions for global usage—and respectively its culturally appropriate design for worldwide consumption—can be described in general by contributions from cross-cultural marketing and advertising research. This chapter presents a foundational examination of this situation and its implications for professional practices related to marketing and online consumers.

This article focuses on the experience of the Internet user with regard to purchasing goods and services. A self-administered survey, hosted on a dedicated website, was used as a data collection method and 1005 responses were received. It was found that the period of Internet usage significantly influenced the decision to purchase via the Internet. Another finding was that the period of Internet usage significantly influenced whether those shopping on the Internet searched for, or considered searching for, product and service information online prior to purchasing from non-Internet-based sellers.

The aim of the article. In relation to the introduction of quarantine restrictions and an emergency situation to counteract COVID-19, there are potential prospects for the development of online retail in Ukraine. The aim of the article is to study the main problems, disadvantages and advantages of e-commerce and highlight further trends in retail development through the use of Internet resources. The results of the analysis. The development of e-commerce is based on attracting more and more users to the Internet, so it is not surprising that the part of turnover from e-commerce in GDP and the part of e-component in retail correlates with the Internet penetration rate, the part of the population aged 14 to 74 that are regular Internet users. Thus, in the leading countries of Western Europe, this figure is approaching 100%, while in Ukraine it is only about 63%. In the course of an investigation we identified the role and positive impact of domestic marketplaces on the development of E-commerce in various segments of the economy. Marketplaces, which are a kind of platform for uniting different sellers and buyers by interests, give impetus to the growth of positive dynamics of supply and demand, sales of goods and services, in fact, without leaving home - for consumers, and without spending significant rental costs offline stores - for sellers. The positive gradation of e-commerce growth has been affected by quarantine restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, the need for self-isolation and social distancing, temporary suspension of offline shops of non-food products and establishments in various fields of services (entertainment centers, catering establishments) on the basis of government requirements, resulted not only in increasing the popularity of existing marketplaces and social networks, but forced many retailers to start or develop existing online stores alongside traditional sale outlets. The advantages of e-commerce are determined: speed and availability of obtaining information about the product, its price, characteristics; efficiency and convenience of trade operations; reduction of operating costs; ensuring long-term communications with customers; development of Internet marketing through a possible variety of tools used; the possibility of using modern analytical tools to study the market and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing activities; increasing openness to consumers and increasing their loyalty. The main disadvantages of E-commerce are highlighted as insufficient security of consumer data and unreliable payment systems; quality of communication and service; instability of the national currency; imperfect legal framework; high delivery prices. All these problems have their basis and depend on many factors, first of all - on the level of sustainable development of the economy as a whole. Conclusions and direction for further research. Despite of the challenges of the time, the urgent needs of consumers in goods and services, e-commerce currently has a positive development trend and considerable prospects for further expansion of the market. The development of e-commerce should take place with the simultaneous simplification and regulation of ways to consolidate legal relations of contractors, methods and models of promotion of goods and services over the Internet, which clearly requires additional research. Key words: E-commerce, online retail, internet economy, marketplace, COVID-19.

International cyber mediation is currently the most demanded service in the legal services market. The growth of cyber-attacks on the Internet, a large number of scams with cryptocurrency, falsification of products, goods and services sold on the Internet, as well as theft of money from credit cards and from online accounts of Internet users - all this requires the help of cyber lawyers. Since the Asia-Pacific region is the most developed and most populous Internet space in the world, the market for Internet mediator services should be the most profitable.

Background: Previous studies have shown that suicide-related Internet use can have both negative and positive psychological effects. Aims: This study examined the effect of suicide-related Internet use on users’ suicidal ideation, depression/anxiety tendency, and loneliness. Method: A two-wave panel study of 850 Internet users was conducted via the Internet. Results: Suicide-related Internet use (e.g., browsing websites about suicide methods) had negative effects on suicidal ideation and depression/anxiety tendency. No forms of suicide-related Internet use, even those that would generally be considered positive, were found to decrease users’ suicidal ideation. In addition, our results suggest that the greater the suicidal ideation and feelings of depression and loneliness of Internet users, the more they used the Internet. Conclusion: Since suicide-related Internet use can adversely influence the mental health of young adults, it is necessary to take measures to reduce their exposure to such information.

the present study deals with a more detailed, and updated, modified model that allows for the identification of internet usage patterns by gender.
