This paper springs from some reflections in the context of the design studio on the meaning of miniature representations (such as drawings or scaled models, for example), in art and architecture. In the pre-reflective understanding of the world which characterises direct human experience, the size of things is an integral and deeply meaningful aspect of their phenomenal reality. Our primary perception of the size of things is, of course, a function of our embodied condition and is inseparable from their essential nature. Things seem great or small to us from the point of view of our moving body and its ability to act upon and manipulate objects of that scale. A mountain is large, difficult to see all at once from close by, and requires a great physical effort to climb. The size of a doll's house provides us with a marvellous power to see and control the life within, a power which is one of the reasons why the miniature pervades our daydream world. The size of a bacterium makes it invisible to the naked eye and immune to the manipulation of our hand, and this condition endows it for us with a degree of mystery and unreality in our daily life. The phenomenon of size, like most things we perceive, is given to us as situated in our experiential world.

Ian Morris,

A tanulmányt Z. Karvalics László bevezetésével közöljük. --- The civilization path of information technology: measurement and classification Ian Morris defines social development as “social groups’ abilities to master their physical and intellectual environments and get things done in the world”. From this approach, “social development is - in principle - something we can measure and compare through time and space”. The Social Development Index of Morris is based on the quantifiable attributes of four pillars: energy capture, social organization, information technology, war-making capacity, comparing the numbers of the West and the East. We have translated and published the information technology chapter of his book with Laszlo Z. Karvalics’ introduction to support the re-evaluation of the role and mission of information technology throughout the ages from a special point of view: to facilitate the ability to act effectively.

Introduction: Aiming a more effective intensity control in resistance training (RT), the measurement of movement velocity (MV) has gained attention from the scientific community and strength and conditioning professionals. Objectives: First, to analyze from a critical point of view the indicators that serve as a reference for the expression and control of intensity in the RT. These indicators created from the world of bodybuilding have been used for decades, without any relevant modification, to improve the physical performance of athletes from different sports. The second objective was to describe a rational and precise proposal for the best determination and control of intensity in the RT. Methods: Systematic review articles with and without meta-analysis and clinical trials on the measurement of MV in RT were selected. Conclusion: Monitoring MV allows more precise control of the RT intensity. Keywords: exercise, velocity measurement, muscle strength.

Chaos is a source of life and also a reality for organizations and people as living and self-organizing systems. Management theory also deals with the internal struggle present in a tense, nervous person, and that such a person's attempts to organize and control the world are actually attempts to control and organize him/herself. Narcissistic leaders can both positively and negatively influence organizations. In chaotic situations, how do leaders manage chaos according to managerial narcissism point of view? This chapter aims to find an answer to the question of how managerial narcissism affects organizations, and how this effect can be measured. To answer this question, a scale of managerial narcissism was developed. In the two stage scale we developed for Managerial Narcissism, it can be seen that there are strong, positive relationships between each sub-dimension and that all dimensions are related to each other. In other words, the scale is well suited to measure how managerial narcissism affects an organization.

The world is still not free from the grasp of the Covid-19 Pandemic, a viral outbreak which becomes a currently main topic of discussion from various scientific backgrounds. Therefore, when covid-19 is associated with the realm of communication, it can result in various domains of communication, such as economic communication, educational communication, da'wah or religious communication, etc. In the current study, the researcher examined da'wah communication against the covid-19 outbreak. This is because a da'i (preacher) tends to be bound to religious teaching sources before conveying something. This study focuses on what kind of da'wah communication latches behind the Quranic verses regarding plague, outbreak or diseases.  The researcher also employed a descriptive qualitative method in order to obtain the results of such phenomenon. The research result can be classified into three sections, namely: Aqidah, sharia and akhlaq. Looking from akhlaq's point of view, all diseases come from Allah. Physical effort through medication is important but non-physical effort by reverting back to Him also plays a great role. From sharia perspective, we ought not lose our taqwa from the disease but instead keep trusting Allah for everything. Meanwhile, from akhlaq's perspective, we might have been in the wrong situation so that Allah tested us by giving such distress or misfortune so that we can be corrected or purified from the sins.

Invasive species, those that are nonnative and cause economic damage, are one of the main threats to ecosystems around the world. Ambrosia beetles are some of the most common invasive insects. Currently, severe economic impacts have been increasingly reported for all the invasive shot hole borers in South Africa, California, Israel, and throughout Asia. This 7-page fact sheet written by Demian F. Gomez, Jiri Hulcr, and Daniel Carrillo and published by the School of Forest Resources and Conservation describes shot hole borers and their biology and hosts and lists some strategies for prevention and control of these pests. http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/fr422

The article examines the epistemological roots of conservative ideology, development trends and further prospects in political reform not only in modern Russia, but also in other countries. The author focuses on the “world” and Russian conservatism. In the course of the study, the author illustrates what opportunities and limitations a conservative ideology can have in political reform not only in modern Russia, but also in the world. In conclusion, it is concluded that the prospect of a conservative trend in the world is wide enough. To avoid immigration and to control the development of technology in society, it is necessary to adhere to a conservative policy. Conservatism is a consolidating ideology. It is no coincidence that the author cites as an example the understanding of conservative ideology by the French due to the fact that Russia has its own vision of the ideology of conservatism. If we say that conservatism seeks to preserve something and respects tradition, we must bear in mind that traditions in different societies, which form some kind of moral imperatives, cannot be a single phenomenon due to different historical destinies and differing religious views. Considered from the point of view of religion, Muslim and Christian conservatism will be somewhat confrontational on some issues. The purpose of the work was to consider issues related to the role, evolution and prospects of conservative ideology in the political reform of modern countries. The author focuses on Russia and France. To achieve this goal, the method of in-depth interviews with experts on how they understand conservatism was chosen. Already today, conservatism is quite diverse. It is quite possible that in the future it will transform even more and acquire new reflections.
