The reactions of ketotifen fumarate (KT) with 2,3-dichloro-5,6-dicyano-p-benzoquinone (DDQ) and 7,7,8,8-tetracyanoquinodimethane (TCNQ) as π acceptors to form charge transfer (CT) complexes were evaluated in this study. Experimental and theoretical approaches, including density function theory (DFT), were used to obtain the comprehensive, reliable, and accurate structure elucidation of the developed CT complexes. The CT complexes (KT-DDQ and KT-TCNQ) were monitored at 485 and 843 nm, respectively, and the calibration curve ranged from 10 to 100 ppm for KT-DDQ and 2.5 to 40 ppm for KT-TCNQ. The spectrophotometric methods were validated for the determination of KT, and the stability of the CT complexes was assessed by studying the corresponding spectroscopic physical parameters. The molar ratio of KT:DDQ and KT:TCNQ was estimated at 1:1 using Job’s method, which was compatible with the results obtained using the Benesi–Hildebrand equation. Using these complexes, the quantitative determination of KT in its dosage form was successful.

AbstractThe perspective of this paper is to characterize a Casson type of Non-Newtonian fluid flow through heat as well as mass conduction towards a stretching surface with thermophoresis and radiation absorption impacts in association with periodic hydromagnetic effect. Here heat absorption is also integrated with the heat absorbing parameter. A time dependent fundamental set of equations, i.e. momentum, energy and concentration have been established to discuss the fluid flow system. Explicit finite difference technique is occupied here by executing a procedure in Compaq Visual Fortran 6.6a to elucidate the mathematical model of liquid flow. The stability and convergence inspection has been accomplished. It has observed that the present work converged at, Pr ≥ 0.447 indicates the value of Prandtl number and Le ≥ 0.163 indicates the value of Lewis number. Impact of useful physical parameters has been illustrated graphically on various flow fields. It has inspected that the periodic magnetic field has helped to increase the interaction of the nanoparticles in the velocity field significantly. The field has been depicted in a vibrating form which is also done newly in this work. Subsequently, the Lorentz force has also represented a great impact in the updated visualization (streamlines and isotherms) of the flow field. The respective fields appeared with more wave for the larger values of magnetic parameter. These results help to visualize a theoretical idea of the effect of modern electromagnetic induction use in industry instead of traditional energy sources. Moreover, it has a great application in lung and prostate cancer therapy.

Abstract Mathematical modeling often yields linear dynamical systems in science and engineering. We change physical parameters of the system into random variables to perform an uncertainty quantification. The stochastic Galerkin method yields a larger linear dynamical system, whose solution represents an approximation of random processes. A model order reduction (MOR) of the Galerkin system is advantageous due to the high dimensionality. However, asymptotic stability may be lost in some MOR techniques. In Galerkin-type MOR methods, the stability can be guaranteed by a transformation to a dissipative form. Either the original dynamical system or the stochastic Galerkin system can be transformed. We investigate the two variants of this stability-preserving approach. Both techniques are feasible, while featuring different properties in numerical methods. Results of numerical computations are demonstrated for two test examples modeling a mechanical application and an electric circuit, respectively.

The paper presents a method for rapid multi-omics investigation of biological samples using polypropylene bulk porous samplers. The use of porous samplers makes it easy to collect samples from the surface of the skin, mucous membranes, and biological fluids even in a field, and the surfaces of wounds and injuries. Collected samples do not require special storage conditions, and the samplers are lightweight and very compact. They can be used to monitor the condition of cosmonauts before, during, and after the spaceflight with the same sample collection method. The analysis of biomaterial applied to the sampler is performed using direct mass spectrometry methods, similar to the dried blood spot technique that is already used in clinical practice. However, bulk porous samplers allow expanding the range of analytes ionization conditions, which increases the stability and reliability of the ionization process, which expands the variety of analyzed molecules. The proposed method can be used to study compounds of various classes, including proteins, lipids, and metabolites, to systematically monitor the status of people in extreme conditions (athletes, astronauts), or to study the condition of patients in the clinic.

Recent experience has shown that a plate-like load suspended beneath a helicopter moving in horizontal forward flight has unstable characteristics at both low and high forward speeds. These findings have prompted a theoretical analysis to determine the longitudinal and lateral dynamic stability of a suspended pallet. Only the longitudinal stability is considered here. Although it is strictly a non-linear problem, the usual assumptions have been made to obtain linearized equations of motion. The aerodynamic derivative data required for these equations have been obtained, where possible, for the appropriate ranges of Reynolds and Strouhal number by means of static and dynamic wind tunnel testing. The resulting stability equations (with full aerodynamic derivative information) have been set up and solved, on a digital computer, to give direct indication of a stable or unstable system for a combination of physical parameters. These results have indicated a longitudinal unstable mode for all practical forward speeds. Simultaneously the important stability derivatives were found for this instability and modifications were made subsequently in the suspension system to eliminate the instabilities in the longitudinal sense. Throughout this paper, all metric dimensions are given approximately.

In this paper, we investigate an analysis of the stability of a basic flow of streaming magnetic fluids in the presence of an oblique magnetic field is made. We have use the linear analysis of modified Kelvin-Helmholtz instability by the addition of the influence of mass transfer and heat across the interface. Problems equations model is presented where nonlinear terms are neglected in model equations as well as the boundary conditions. In the case of a oblique magnetic field, the dispersion relation is obtained and discussed both analytically and numerically and the stability diagrams are also obtained. It is found that the effect of the field depends strongly on the choice of some physical parameters of the system. Regions of stability and instability are identified. It is found that the mass and heat transfer parameter has a destabilizing influence regardless of the mechanism of the field.

The article discusses the issue of industrial compounding, which improves the quality of the raw materials supplied to the main pipelines. Compounding from "to compound" (English) - to mix. When mixing different types of oil obtained, "incompatibility" is possible, which is expressed in the precipitation of a solid sediment and violation of the stability of the colloidal system and due to the differing properties of oils. Attention to this problem is due to the tightening of requirements for the quality of raw materials that must comply with modern standards. The article discusses the causes of the problem of "incompatibility" of oil during compounding and effective ways of solving it, substantiates the need for a preliminary study of the properties of mixed oil in order to identify possible incompatibility of various types of oil. The standard tests for determination of incompatibility indices characterizing the ability of raw materials to mix are considered. The article substantiates the need to develop methods for diagnosing the incompatibility of oils as the most important task of modern chemical science, the solution of which will improve the quality of the raw material obtained and solve many technological problems in the compounding process.

In this paper, we have investigated the stability of a spherically symmetric object with charged anisotropic matter by using the concept of cracking. The cracking is a very intuitive technique to check the stability which is based on the analysis of the radial forces that appear on the system due to perturbations taking it out of its equilibrium state. For this, we have applied and studied the effect of local density perturbations to the hydrostatic equilibrium equation and on all the physical parameters with generalized polytropic equation of state. It is found that some of the generalized polytropic models exhibit cracking.

In the first and second section of this paper some methodological topics in the study of interlanguage (IL) and error analysis are discussed. The author adheres to Adjemian's point of view (1976): any interlanguage is a natural language and contains a linguistic system. Its systematicity is therefore given a priori. However, not all utterances of an IL speaker might be consistent: some rules of the system might be unstable over a certain period of time. Research would have to show what performance strategies (like simplification) influence the stability of the system, in other words in what way the consistency of the system is permeable. In the third section a preliminary study is presented dealing with the topic of inconsistency in IL. The research question was: to what extent can the inconsistency in the learners' utterances be accounted for by distinguishing different kinds of performance? To nineteen adult foreigners in Holland, with 15 different mother tongues, all partici-pating in an intensive Dutch course for beginners, eight tests ^licitation procedures) were administered: two reproduction tests, four production tests and two "intuition tests" (see table I). Eight rules of Dutch syntax and morfology were tested, (table II). Results show that: (a) if someone makes one or more errors with a particular rule in a reproduction test, he will make one or more errors with the same rule in a production test and an intuition test as well: the reverse is not true; (b) if someone makes one or more errors with a particular rule in a production test, he will make one or more errors with the same rule in an intuition test as well; the reverse is not true; (c) the overlap in errors/correct forms was greatest with both repro-duction tests. Of the production tests translation and the anagram test were almost equally representative for the four tests. Finally, there was no congruence between both "intuition tests", the sentence correc-tion test yielding consistently more errors (for all eight rules) than the multiple choice test.
