The article contains information on the state of the processes of lipid peroxidation (LPO) in fresh cows under the influence of stress reaction caused by labor and the beginning of the lactation period. To reduce oxidative stress in the body of fresh cows, antioxidants were used in the form of preparations “E-selenium” and “Butofan”. The aim of the research was to determine the effect of vitamin-containing preparations “E-selenium” and “Butofan” on the productivity of fresh cows, the quality of milk and butter, made from it. The studies were carried out during the winter-stall period on one of the farms of Ryazan district of Ryazan region and involved 12 fresh black-and-white cows aged 4 years. The control group of animals was intact. As a result of the investigations, it was found that due to the action of the above preparations, which have antioxidant properties, the productivity parameters in the experimental groups of animals were higher compared to the control group, because they had an inhibiting effect on lipid peroxidation processes in the organism and activated the work of its own antioxidant system.

The organization of feeding of highly productive cows is one of the most difficult tasks in dairy cattle breeding. The purpose of the work was to study the influence of natural mineral additive on the productivity, composition and some technological qualities of milk of cows of Black-and-White breed of Ural type. Research and production experiment has been carried out in CJSC “Glinki” in the Ketovsky district in the Kurgan region on Black-and-White cows. The influence of bentonite additive in the ration of highly productive cows during the period of increasing the milk yield on the composition and technological quality of milk and dairy products has been determined. In general, for the first 100 days of lactation the cows of the experimental group have produced by 191 kg more natural fat milk or 8,4 %, compared to the control group. In terms of 4 % milk from animals of the experimental group has been got by 233 kg or 9,3 % more than of the control group. The yield of milk fat in the experimental group was by 10,44 kg or 12,9 % more than the control group. The difference in milk protein yield for 100 days of lactation was 7,34 kg or 9,8 %. The economic indicators (prime-cost, profitability) of milk production when feeding the mineral additive bentonite to cows have been calculated. With an increase in the total cost of obtaining milk from cows of the experimental group, caused by higher milk yields and the purchase of bentonite, the revenue from the sale of milk from this group was by 7,83 thousand rubles or 8,4 % more. As a result, milk production from animals of the experimental group was by 3,44 % more efficient. It has been found that the inclusion of bentonite in the composition of concentrated feed in the amount of 400 g/head/day allowed to reduce their expenditure, as well as EFU and digestible protein, which ultimately provided a higher level of profitability of milk production.

The article presents the results of experimental studies to determine the effect of antioxidant drugs “Butofan” and “E-selenium” on veterinary and sanitary parameters of cows’ milk obtained in the period after calving. Childbirth is characterized by a stressful physiological state of the body and a large amount of lipid peroxidation (LPO) products are formed in the blood of cows, which have a negative depleting effect on the body and, naturally, on the quality of milk, since it is a blood product. To enhance the work of the body’s own antioxidant system, since it is not always enough to neutralize LPO products, antioxidant drugs are used. It is necessary to determine veterinary and sanitary parameters in milk obtained under the influence of any drugs, since it is used in human nutrition. For this purpose, experimental studies were carried out on analogous dairy cows in one of the farms of Ryazan region. The cows were divided into three groups: the control and two experimental ones. The control group of animals was intact, the cows of the experimental groups received antioxidant preparations: the first one got “E-selenium” and the second one got “Butofan”. The research results showed that the milk yield of cows in the experimental groups was higher compared to the control. The quality parameters of milk in the experimental groups of cows were better in terms of fat content, protein content, density and acidity. Cow’s milk under the influence of antioxidant drugs was biologically complete and environmentally friendly.

The feasibility of using the complex mineral and vitamin feed additive “Nadezhda” in the rations of lactating first-calf heifers of Black-and-White breed has been examined in the article. It has been established that feed contain a low content of elements such as calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, sulfur, manganese, copper, zinc and cobalt. The ratio of nutrients and minerals, the degree of their availability for assimilation by the body does not provide their need. The use of the complex mineral and vitamin feed additive contributed to an increase in the milk productivity of first-calf heifers and the quality of milk, feed consumption per unit of production. All tested recipes of the complex mineral and vitamin feed additive, which have different versions of macro-, microelements and vitamins in their composition had a positive effect on the metabolic processes in the body of animals. For the production of 1 kg of milk in the experimental groups of cows less metabolic energy was spent by 5,09 (P < 0,05) and 8,06 % (P < 0,05), respectively, raw protein by 5,19 and 8,19 % (P < 0,05), digestible protein by 5,12 (P < 0,05) and 8,15 % (P < 0,05) compared with the animals of the control group. At the same time from the cows of the 1st experimental group have been received more milk by 151,6 kg in the amount of 2489 rubles, from the 2nd experimental group by 250,6 kg of milk in the amount of 4248,0 rubles. The prime cost of production of 1 kg of milk in cows of the 1st experimental group in comparison with the animals of the control group decreased by 0,72 rubles, and the 2nd experimental group by 1,21 rubles. The level of profitability of milk production in cows have been fed with additive recipe No. 1, in comparison with the animals of the control group increased by 3,71 abs.%, recipe No. 2 by 9,91 abs.%.

The association between science and production is gradually developing due to the arrival of new information and discoveries about the composition of feed and the transformation of nutrients in the body of cows. One of the most important links in the formation of animal productivity during lactation is the use of new feed products and feed additives in feeding. The results of scientific and economic experiment on the use of protein concentrate “Agro-Matic” in feeding of highly productive lactating cows of Ayrshire breed are contained the article. The inclusion of protein concentrate “AgroMatic” in the daily rations of lactating cows in the amount of 1,0 and 1,5 kg/head/day increases the level of indigestible protein by 6,1 and 8,9 %, respectively. The use of protein concentrate in the amount of 1,5 kg in cows feeding helps to increase the digestibility of nutrients in rations the quality of milk and the productivity of cows. When feeding protein concentrate in the amount of 1,5 kg the milk productivity of cows during the period of increasing the milk yield was 4297,5 kg of milk, the yield of essential and dispensable amino acids with milk was significantly higher. The yield of milk protein in cows that received protein concentrate in the ration in the amount of 1,0 kg was 137,7 kg, and when using 1,5 kg – 141,4 kg, which was signifi cantly higher than in the control group by 10,2 and 13,6 kg, respectively. The use of protein concentrate “Agro-Matic” in the ration had a benefi cial eff ect on the digestibility of protein. The digestibility of raw protein of the feed mixture with the inclusion of 1,5 kg of protein concentrate was 71,1 % compared to 68,0 % in the basic ration, which are used at the Maysky complex in the “Plemzavod Maysky”

Bacterial diseases are responsible for heavy mortality in both wild and cultured fish. Co-infections are very common in nature and occur when hosts are infected by two or more different pathogens either by simultaneous or secondary infections so that two or more infectious agents are active together in the same host. Associative infections pose a significant threat to fish farming, so it is necessary to develop effective means of prevention and treatment of these infections; it is advisable to study in detail their impact on various fish. The aim of the study was to determine the intensity of lipid peroxidation processes and the activity of the antioxidant defense system in the body of carp suffering from aeromonosis and the associated infection of aeromonosis with saprolegniosis. The research was conducted at the Lviv Research Station of the Institute of Fisheries of NAAS. There were three groups of fish, 5 in each. The control group consisted of clinically healthy fish, the first experimental group (D1) – carps affected by Aeromonas hydrophila infection, the second experimental group (D2), which consisted of carps affected by associative Aeromonas hydrophila infection with Saprolegnia Sp. The results of studies have shown that carp with associative infection ‒ of Aeromonas hydrophila infection with Saprolegnia Sp. leads to the activation of lipid peroxidation processes, especially the primary product of LPO. Thus, in the hepatopancreas of fish there was an increase of 1.4 (p <0.05) in the reasonable content of diene conjugates and there was a tendency to increase the content of TBA-active products. At the same time, the inhibitory effect of pathogenic factors of this disease on the activity of the enzymatic link of the antioxidant defense system was stated. In particular, carp patients with associative infection ‒ of Aeromonas hydrophila infection with Saprolegnia Sp. had higher catalase and superoxide dismutase activity, respectively, 1.3 (p <0.05) and 2.3 (p <0.01) times. The results of experimental studies made it possible to expand and deepen the mechanisms of the pathogenesis of the co-infection of Aeromonas hydrophila infection with Saprolegnia Sp. and to use the data to develop effective treatments.

Ukraine needs to introduce high standards for the safety and quality of dairy products, which have become the norm for the world's leading producers. According to the order of the profile ministry of the state «On approval of the Requirements for the safety and quality of milk and dairy products» must determine the safety of milk. The minimum milk to be processed must meet the relevant criteria. The requirements approved by the decree shall apply to milk and dairy market operators exporting or declaring their readiness for such exports to the competent authority. For all other milk and dairy market operators, the above requirements apply from January 2022. The new national standards, harmonized with the European ones, require gradual implementation, which is why the order provides for a transitional period. The Milk Producers Association (AVM) states that it is not profitable to produce milk by extravagance. According to the US National Profile Board, if the milk contains about 400,000 / ml somatic cells, then the farmer loses about 700 kg of milk during the cow's lactation period. The overall goal of new legislative changes in Ukraine is to create and implement in our country a modern food safety monitoring system based on risk assessment in the dairy value chain. Therefore, dairy farms and the private population (who supply milk) should be prepared for periodic inspections of raw milk (laboratory tests) and for production inspection. The article investigates the quality of milk collected from farms and private farms. Reasons for the decrease in the quality of the product under study were identified. Proposed ways to improve the quality of milk raw materials.

The presence of yeasts in milk may cause physical and chemical changes limiting the durability and compromising the quality of the product. Moreover, milk and dairy products contaminated by yeasts may be a potential means of transmission of these microorganisms to man and animals causing several kinds of infections. This study aimed to determine whether different species of yeasts isolated from bovine raw milk had the ability to develop at 37°C and/or under refrigeration temperature. Proteinase and phospholipase activities resulting from these yeasts were also monitored at different temperatures. Five genera of yeasts (Aureobasidium sp., Candida spp., Geotrichum spp., Trichosporon spp. and Rhodotorula spp.) isolated from bovine raw milk samples were evaluated. All strains showed one or a combination of characteristics: growth at 37°C (99·09% of the strains), psychrotrophic behaviour (50·9%), proteinase production (16·81% of the strains at 37°C and 4·09% under refrigeration) and phospholipase production (36·36% of the isolates at 37°C and 10·9% under refrigeration), and all these factors may compromise the quality of the product. Proteinase production was similar for strains incubated at 37°C (16·81% of the isolates) and room temperature (17·27%) but there was less amount of phospholipase-producing strains at room temperature (15·45% of the isolates were positive) when compared with incubation at 37°C (36·36%). Enzymes production at 37°C by yeasts isolated from milk confirmed their pathogenic potential. The refrigeration temperature was found to be most efficient to inhibit enzymes production and consequently ensure better quality of milk. The viability of yeasts and the activity of their enzymes at different temperatures are worrying because this can compromise the quality of dairy products at all stages of production and/or storage, and represent a risk to the consumer.

Background: We investigated whether the frequency of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) increased in patients in whom double-J stents were applied. We also evaluated several medical therapy protocols to treat symptoms related with ureteral stents.Materials and Methods: A total of 108 patients, in whom unilateral double-j stent was applied during ureteral stone treatment, were included. Before the double-J stent was applied, all patients completed storage components of the “International Prostate Symptom Score” (IPSSs), quality of life components of the IPSS (IPSS-QOL) and “Overactive Bladder Questionnaire” (OABq) forms and scores were calculated. After the procedure, cases were randomized into 5 groups, an antiinflammatory was given to Group 1, spasmolytic to Group 2, anticholinergic to Group 3 and α-blocker to Group 4. No additional drug was given to Group 5 as this control group. During the fourth week of the procedure, IPSSs, IPSS-QOL and OABq forms were again completed and scores were compared with the previous ones. Results: When all the cases were evaluated, the IPSSs, IPSS-QOLand OABq scores of patients in whom the double-J stent was applied were statistically significantly higher the procedure. Compared to the control group, the cases where the double-J stent was applied showed a higher IPSSs, IPSS-QOL and OABq scores and none of the medical therapies could prevent this increase.Interpretation: The frequency of LUTS increased in cases where the ureteral stent was applied and discomfort continued as long as the stent stayed in the body.
