Abstract The lithological and earth structures which compose the geologic process space are terribly fascinating to study. elaborated investigation of pre-tertiary rock subduction at the Woyla web site is rarely carried out. the variability of rocks derived from the Woyla oceanic plate, that folded on the West Sumatra continental plate within the Age of Reptiles era, illustrates the magnitude of the subduction impact mirrored in the structures that are still reflected in the abandoned rocks. The ways want to discover this subduction event are elaborated field observations, skinny section, XRD, and earth science structure measurements, supported by drones and satellite imagery. The lithology of basalt, flint, serpentine, marble, and arenaceous rock is vital to the presence of the Intraoceanic Arch of Woyla within the Saka phase. elaborated structural calculation show that the Saka segment went through several tectonic stages from the Mesozoic to Recent, that is mirrored in the Saka fault and therefore the Penanggungan fault.

Tourism is one of the activities carried out by humans that has a purpose as entertainment. Human who travel are referred to as tourist. West Sumatra Province is one of the regions with the best tourism is sea tourism and land tourism. Marine tourism consists of beach tourism, island tourism and lake tourism, while mainland tourism consists of tourist panorama, mountain tours, hill tours and others. However, only a portion of West Sumatra's tourist attractions are known to tourists, because of this information is obtained so that there are still many tourist attractions in West Sumatra unknown to tourists from outside the West Sumatra region. To overcome this problem, a system is needed that can be used to support the electoral decision-making process in West Sumatra. This system is built on the Web, using the PHP programming language and Laravel Framework and MySQL as a Database. The method used in this system is the Elimination of Et Choix Traduisant la Realite (ELECTRE). The use of Elimination Et Choix Traduisant la REalite (ELECTRE) can help provide information in West Sumatra, which is in accordance with the wishes of tourists according to the specified criteria. With the help of this system, the information obtained will make it easier for tourists to find tourist attractions.

The atmosphere system is ruled by the interaction of many meteorological parameters, causing a dependency between them, i.e., moisture and temperature, both suitable in front of any anomaly, such as storms, hurricanes, El Niño-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) events. So, understanding perturbations of the variation of moistness along the time may provide an indicator of any oceanographic phenomenon. Annual relative humidity data around the Equatorial line of the Pacific Ocean were processed and analyzed to comprehend the time evolution of each dataset, appreciate anomalies, trends, histograms, and propose a way to predict anomalous episodes such ENSO events, observing abnormality of lag correlation coefficients between every pair of buoys. Datasets were taken from the Tropical Atmosphere Ocean / Triangle Trans-Ocean Network (TAO/TRITON) project, array directed by Pacific Environmental Laboratory (PMEL) of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC). All the datasets were processed, and the code was elaborated by the author or adapted from Mathworks Inc. Even occurrences of relative humidity in the east side of the Pacific Ocean seem to oscillate harmonically, while occurrences in the west side, do not, because of the size of their amplitudes of oscillations. This fact can be seen in the histograms that show Peak shapes in the east side of the ocean, and Gaussians in the west; lag correlation functions show that no one pair of buoys synchronize fluctuations, but western buoys are affected in front of ENSO events, especially between 1997-98. Definitely, lag correlations in western buoys are determined to detect ENSO events.

Poverty is one of the social problems that the government can never completely solve. As a result, other, more significant social issues arise and cause social vulnerability, such as conflict and crime. As a province that is experiencing rapid growth in the last ten years, the West Sumatra find difficulty to overcome the number of poor people in several districts and cities.  The research outcomes are the models and forms of social policy made by West Sumatra regencies and cities governments in improving the welfare of poor communities. It is also covering the constraints or obstacles to the implementation of social policy and the selection of welfare state models for the poor in some districts and municipalities of West Sumatra. This research is conducted qualitatively with a sociological approach that uses social perspective on searching and explaining social facts that happened to needy groups. Based on research conducted that the social policy model adopted by the government in responding to social problems in the districts and cities of West Sumatra reflects the welfare state model given to the poor. There is a strong relationship between the welfare state model and the form of social policy made by the government.

Indonesia is one of the very prone countries to disaster. The tsunami and earthquake disasters caused enormous damage to property and infrastructure as well as loss of life. An earthquake on September 30, 2009, measuring 7.9 on the Richter scale struck the west coast of Sumatra, causing loss of life and damage to infrastructure. There were around 1,115 people killed, 1,214 seriously injured and 1,688 people lightly injured. A comprehensive study of natural disaster management activities or systems should be used as learning materials to form a disaster management system. Disaster preparedness by minimizing vulnerability has been identified as a better approach to dealing with disasters than post-disaster response. Creating a culture of prevention is critical to dealing with everyday hazards and the consequences of disasters. The study is using data from a natural disaster in west Sumatra, and data from people who were involved in the process of reconstruction post disasters in west Sumatra. This study aims to obtain an accurate description of the reconstruction post-disaster and relation with responsive gender activities in West Sumatra, and identify how the gender effect on reconstruction post-disaster in the West Sumatra region.

AbstractIndonesia is one of the areas where earthquakes often occur, one reason is that Indonesia is located on the border of the oceanic plate, namely the pacific ocean and the continental plate, namely the Eurasian continent. Where in these areas plate shifts often occur which cause frequent earthquakes. In minimizing casualties due to building failure due to earthquakes, one of them is necessary to make a building that has sufficient ductility so that in this study using a steel structure building. In steel structures, to make the structure more resistant to lateral loads, it is necessary to apply bracing. In this study, we try to compare the eccentric and concentric bracing displacement in steel structure buildings.Based on the results obtained from the comparison of these displacements, it is found those displacements due to eccentric bracing is smaller than the concentric bracing  AbstrakIndonesia termasuk daerah yang sering terjadi gempa, salah sebabnya karena wilayah Indonesia terletak di daerah perbatasan lempeng samudera yaitu samudera pasisfik dan lempeng benua yaitu benua Eurasia.

Advances in technology have enabled new methods in the acquisition and recording of field data in geology and its presentation within publications. These techniques compliment, rather than replace, traditional field observations. This chapter describes the use of photogrammetry and aerial drone surveys in constructing three-dimensional models of geological features, which provide valuable data when combined with field notes on lithology. Digital methods in the analysis and processing of images are discussed together with methods in digital drawing and painting to produce publication-ready diagrams for Earth Science. Photographs for use in publications should be corrected to ensure optimal contrast and brightness.
