Abstract Similar to other fields, the construction industry tends to constantly evolve. There is an increasing demand for the construction of new buildings regarding the speed of the construction process, economy, and minimization of the negative effects on the environment, i.e. sustainability. These requirements can be met by using prefabrication for this construction. Modular construction represents one of the prefabrication technologies that is becoming increasingly popular worldwide. The topic of this article is the use of modular construction, even from the sustainability point of view. There is a basic overview of modular construction, its history in the construction field, an overview of the materials used, and the possibilities of its implementation. Furthermore, this article provides an overview of the advantages and disadvantages of modular construction. The advantages are listed in terms of quality, economy, time, and ecology as well as in terms of construction flexibility and work safety, both during production and assembly on the construction site. The disadvantages of modular construction discussed in this article are the complicated transportation of modules, demanding coordination of production and construction, the requirement for detailed construction planning, and the non-acceptance of this construction technology by the general, and sometimes professional public. This article also deals with the comparison of modular construction technology with conventional construction technologies. It points out the possibility of reusing materials from disassembled modular buildings. It also points out the ways to control and mitigate the impact of modular construction on the environment throughout the life cycle of modular building. Only after a thorough analysis of these aspects of modular construction, is it possible to explore other ways to further increase the efficiency of this technology in all directions and also to make even better use of its environmental impact minimization potential.

This chapter examines the impacts of social media on children. Advantages and disadvantages of social media are always available. Positive aspects of social media include allowing children to be brought up as multicultural individuals, enabling education and training environments to design for purposes, using as the main or supplementary source of education, a great power in creating and sharing information. Its negative aspects include leading to a reduction of their academic, social, and cognitive skills in the early periods when children were exposed to the social media, causing the children to develop obesity, mostly bringing up as consumption-centered individuals, perceive the world as a screenshot, and have low critical, creative, and reflective thinking skills. Therefore, one of the most important tasks undertaken to reduce or eliminate the negative effects is to raise and educate media-literate individuals.

This study aimed to analyze the context of fair value measurements of biological assets under the accounting professionals’ perspective from the Brazilian sugarcane sector. Secondly, verifying the existence of clusters among the participants of the study and also checking whether or not there is a relationship between the accounting professional’s profile and his perception of the impacts on the measurement of biological assets. A field study was carried out utilizing a survey with qualitative and quantitative approach, involving cluster analysis, content analysis and Fisher’s exact test, considering a population sample of 32 accounting professionals from the sector. From the cluster analysis it was possible to identify the existence of three professional groups with similar characteristics of profile and perception of impacts brought by IAS nº 41. The quantitative analysis shows that the professionals that work in plants located in states with high or low concentration of sugarcane productive chain perceive the rule distinctively. The qualitative analysis suggest that there are two views, one against and the other in favor of the rule, showing that there is not a consensus when it comes to enforcing the rule in the sector. As few studies attempt to analyze the impact, advantages and disadvantages from the accountant’s point of view, this study contributes to fill out this gap. This study offers insights to the governing entities on the necessity of a greater practical detailing and problems related to the acceptance of the rule in Brazil.

China’s “industrial restructuring” has expanded the proportion of the tertiary industry in the economy and promoted the development of local tourism. The ongoing “industrial structure upgrading” is intended to make the industry bigger and stronger, which will promote the growth of local tourism. As a tourist resort, nature reserves have been attracting a large number of tourists and have great development potential and economic value. Under this situation, various management agencies of nature reserves have successively carried out tourism activities and carried out tourism development and construction. However, there is no doubt that both tourism activities and development will have an impact on the ecological system of nature reserves. The existing legal system of nature reserves in China emphasizes the prohibition of behaviors that directly destroy the ecological environment and ignores the impact of human tourism activities. The continuous increase in the number of tourism in our country, brought on nature reserves of rich tourist income at the same time, a large number of facts show that tourism has become a source of environmental pollution, so it is necessary for tourism environmental pollution the main way to do a summary and its particularity, summing up the basic law of tourism affect the environment, thus provide the basis for strengthening the environmental protection from the point of view of tourism management. The emergence and development of tourism culture is inseparable from the influence of the environment, and tourism culture also affects the environment. The negative effects and negative effects of tourism culture development on the environment are becoming more and more evident, which has aroused people’s general concern. In recent years, the negative impact of tourism and cultural activities on the environment has been paid much attention to by many scholars at home and abroad. This paper discusses the impact of tourism activities on nature reserves, and discusses the causes of this problem, so as to analyze the strategies to ensure the harmony and order of nature reserves in tourism activities.

The article discusses the changing of the lifeworld under the influence of virtualization, the dominant tendency of the modern digital era. The main aim is to analyze the transformations of the lifeworld in the virtualization of human being, which determines the formation of a new sociocultural paradigm. The authors solve a twofold problem. Firstly, the semantic connotations of the concept “lifeworld” are restored from the point of view of the historical and philosophical tradition. A significant place is given to the conceptual analysis of the positions of E. Husserl, M. Heidegger, A. Schütz, J. Habermas and others. Secondly, they reveal the ontological, anthropological and axiological refractions of the lifeworld due to its fusion with the virtual environment. The methodological strategy is based on the potential of multivariate analysis, which includes a quadriga that combines objectivity, processuality, projectivity and environmental characteristics. The specific features of a virtualized lifeworld are analyzed taking into account the findings of both modern Western researchers: J. Sullins, S. Mehdizadeh, V. Miller, A. Clark, and Russian ones: M. Antipov, A. Voiskunsky, V. Volkov, I. Kasavin, N. Motroshilova, D. Martyanov, N. Smirnova, Zh. Toshchenko, V. Fedotova et al. The focus is on such phenomena of the virtualized lifeworld as “content viewers”, “digital skills”, knowledge rental, “double update”. In describing the contours of the new paradigm, attention is drawn to the replacing of being with its virtual counterparts, creating quasi-events that accompany the constitution of a “different order” of reality. The authors substantiate an ambivalent assessment of the virtualization of the lifeworld, taking into account its positive and negative effects. An analysis of the transformations of the lifeworld in modern conditions is concretized by considering the impact of networked computer games on human consciousness, and shows a decrease in the meaningfulness of actions, the violation of identity and the illusion of the denial of mortality. The authors come to the conclusion that the virtualization of the lifeworld sets other sociocodes, transforming the entire system of connections and relations. Its ontological projection indicates the construction of a “different being” rather than an “everyday life” with significant temporal changes and a new kind of digital alienation. Anthropological transformations are caused by the emergence of a new form of sociality – the sociality of the network, a request to improve digital skills that ensure existence in the digital world. A digital person is associated with the need for a “double upgrade” and can position a completely different identity. Axiological transformations testify to the deformation of conceptual thinking, to the design of new criteria for success and forms of motivation, to the self-sufficiency of network communication.
